Stopped at Sunoco Sunday on the way back from Lafayette. Located just south of I-74 with easy access and plenty of parking. It is a service station AND a tidy restauran. The food is good. They cooked to order and deliver to the table. The chatter of the friendly employees is a bright spot. One note, at least on this visit the junior tenderloin was just a smidge smaller than the regular tenderloin so be aware. Onion rings are good. Be back to try the potato wedges. The price is not exactly cheap with a sandwich, medium rings and drink I hit at $20 with tax so there is that. Otherwise worth the trip to see the place and some good food as well. Drove an hour to the Sunoco Midwest in Crawfordsville, IN. I will say it was worth the drive. Meat was juicy, breading very good and not too salty. Wife enjoyed the onion rings. Service was good for a filling station. We had the sugar cream pie and the pumpkin crumble. Would recommend the pumpkin over the sugar cream and I am normally a sugar cream guy. read more

Sometimes, gas station food can be good. At Sunoco Midwest Clean Fuel, the food is always excellent. They have the typical fried chicken and potato wedges. The hidden jewel is the fried pork tenderloin. It's large enough to hang over the bun and be satisfying, but not horrendously huge. There is also a smaller 'junior.' On Thursdays, they have a seasonal lunch (winter is chicken and noodles), and Fridays is a "Foodie Friday," something good they whip up. Plus they have fresh pies, cakes, and other pastries. The staff are attentive and fun, there's always banter between the regulars and staff. Whenever I am in Crawfordsville, this is my lunch spot now. read more

Just bought two tenderloins, mushrooms and two cobblers. This our third time here. The entire order was barely Luke warm, the mushrooms were not edible they were cold and soggy. We started coming here based upon the raving reviews from the Indy Star statewide tenderloin contest and until today the food has been excellent. But if this is the way they are going to be, pre cooked and cold, then we won't be back. read more

If I could have chosen a 4.5 I would've. Everything was delicious, fantastic people and prices. Split a breaded tenderloin with my wife and an order of fried green tomatoes - overall outstanding! The ONLY knock is the bun was cold (not grilled or toasted), which I prefer. Worth checking out for sure. read more

It's a gas station. They serve a pretty good pork tenderloin. There's some seating inside for you to eat. If I lived near there I would eat this oftenish maybe. Since I don't, I do not foresee me ever coming back. Not worth a long drive like Edinburgh Diner. read more

Stopped in on a Monday evening to try the beaded tenderloin. They had two options, Jr and Jumbo. I ordered the Jumbo with fries and a fountain drink. Total was $14.97. Took about 10 minutes. Fries were just crispy on the outside and hot and well done. Tenderloin was underwhelming. For a "jumbo", it barely stuck out from the regular sized bun. It wasn't overly thick, but thin. It was hot and the toppings were fresh. It didn't have any real seasoning but that's a personal preference. Overall, I wouldn't stop again for the sandwich at that price. There are better options available in Crawfordsville for less $$. read more

I read a lot of comments/posts on this page (Pursuit of Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches on FB) about this place and even the places off Facebook my wife was checking out pointed us here. The tenderloin is the perfect balance of thickness/flavor/tenderness/breading. I've read a little about the breading they use, so so good! We were having trouble with the pump, without us even going inside the nicest gentleman came outside and assisted us.

So the wife and I have been hearing about the tenderloins for a while and finally tonight we ordered and picked up. Fantastic!! Now I wish I would not have waited so long. We both had the #3, I added onion rings and she had the cheese poppers. I ordered everything on mine, she had ketchup only (typical of us ). They were delicious, although it's fried food, it was not overly greasy. My rings were lightly breaded her cheese poppers were not that bad. Best dinner we have had for under $20 in a while. Wow! Never would have thought I could find gluten free food that was safe and literally 2 minutes from our hotel. I went in on a Sunday after everything was shut down. The amazing clerk offered to re open everything so I could eat. They have a separate dedicated gluten free fryer. I haven't eaten at a normal restaurant in over a year but I ate here and didn't get sick. Not only that but they may have been the best chicken fingers I've had in my life.
