Gas prices are consistent with the area, and this station also serves as a U-Haul location. My van hadn't been inspected after the last customer used it. Debris (candy wrappers, receipts) and abandoned objects (shoeboxes, a padlock, a roleplaying costume) littered both the front and back of the rental. Even their furniture blankets-- that I didn't need-- had been tossed in one corner. I had no problems leaving my car parked in the small front lot, I just had to let the attendant know which one was mine so that the other shifts wouldn't call for it to be towed. The only annoyance is that if you do an after-hours vehicle drop off, their pumps are shut off overnight so plan on refilling the tank elsewhere. When I returned the vehicle the attendant was busy watching the game on his portable, but assured me that he would inspect the van and send me an updated invoice the next day.

He would not listen to my question and kept yelling at me. I was trying to buy a carwash because the reader was apparently broken at the carwash. He wouldn't listen and told me to put it in a gas pump. When it was approved ar the gas pump he just yelled at me "see, you did it wrong!!", and walked away. I yelled back to cancel it, I just want a carwash, but he just waved his hands dismissively and walked away. I was forced into a transaction I didn't want and he just ignored me when I told him to cancel it. Reporting this location for fraud.

Now that my company vichele will be going passed this station, it is worth stopping here near the end of my shift. I find it very convenient as; well, as grabbing a snack should I need it. The store is small, but they do have the usual junk food one would need when on the road. You are within walking distance from the Silverline Metro and Bus Station. You can also spend sometime inside Tyson Corner Mall or Tyson's Galleria while waiting for your car to be serviced. Yesterday the cost of regular fuel was $3.59 a gallon. Now the cost has dropped back to $3.49 a gallon. A good price my employer will like. The area is really developing and Tyson's III is in the works. I look forward to writing a review on the place when it opens. For a least 3 to 6 week ( If not longer) I and my colleagues will be using this gas station for our company vichele. The pumps work great and appear to be well treated. I haven't had much interactions with the staff, so I will leave this section out of the review. I will follow up on that part for another time.

4/13/21 While…read morechecking out Mike R's reviews I saw the former Gulf Oil or Gulf Gas Station  has gone the way of the dodo.   I too have put fuel into the vichele I have driven at this gas station.  I have learned that Gulf Oil was one of the big boys on the the block from 1901 to 1985. Then the new kids on the block took over and Gulf Oil had to go to high school.  Slowly the population has decreased more and more and a company called Cumberland Farms which owned two-thirds of a limited partnership  from 1993 to 2016 before Cumberland sold its portion of Gulf Oil.  Mobil Gas Station is taking the spot of the old Gulf Oil and new upgrades will be added. The parking of the old station was tight ad at time hard to get your vichele in when you drive a big truck/bus.  Nevertheless, change is not always a bad thing.  Still, while looking up Gulf Oil, I saw that Standard Oil took over Gulf and eventually ended up being owned by Chevron.   I also saw a picture of how Standard Oil broke down into the companies you might know today.   Mike R. mentioned the convenient store. It was looking old and out dated and I hope Mobil either gives the store new life with a upgrade, or years it down to start something new.   Time is on our side and we will see what is to come.

Due to a Honda recall, I dropped my car off across the street at the Honda dealership. I received a call saying my timing belt was rotted, I had multiple oils leaks, water pump problems, and more! All totaling about $2,900. I promptly called Schmitz's on the recommendation of a coworker and explained the situation. Al assured me that I could bring it by when Honda was done and he would review the quote and give me an honest answer on what my car actually needed. Later that afternoon, I dropped my car off and went over the list with Al. He went out with me to take a look under the hood, kindly showing me that my car doesn't even have a timing belt! The serpentine belt and timing chain were clearly fine. I went back to work and got a call about an hour later with a recommendation on two things to fix now and a couple to keep an eye out on over the next two years. It was fixed by the end of the day. He could have taken Honda's quote and said yep that is all true and charged me just a little less. But instead Al took the time to show and explain, thoroughly "diagnose" my car, and handle it all in a couple of hours. By the way, it cost me less than $500. I will 100% be back when my car needs it.

Another customer even joined in, and even after I explained my misunderstanding, they continued mocking me behind my back as I left. Mistakes or misunderstandings should be handled respectfully, not through public humiliation. I won't be returning to this location.

There probably are Gulf stations elsewhere in Virginia, but this is the only one I can still think of. The old station wasn't pretty, but that added some charm to it. Tis a shame it's gone, as the folks who worked here, were pretty darn cool. They had a great convenience store too. Also they had a two car garage for repairs. I liked that even in a yuppie area, getting air was always free. The county and this area are changing fast.
