Wow, I found the perfect home for me on the first visit to this community! I love this place and…read morethe neighbors! I shopped at least 12 other communities from Apache Junction, Mesa, Sun City and Surprise and all I did was worry about my budget, credit, my future neighbors and would these communities meet my needs. It only took me 20 minutes from the time I met and took a tour with the Manager Suzy and her Assistant Ken of Brighthaven to decide this was the place for me. I applied and bought my home, that day! The rent is super affordable roughly $570 includes; lot rent, water, sewer, trash, and internet. The home prices are incredible, for what I would have spent in Surprise/Sun City -- I bought a beautiful home a lightly used truck and in the process of buying a boat for the same price (SUPER VALUE here). The amenities are meticulously maintained and include; a heated pool and hot tub, 2 locations with full bathrooms including showers, a massive community center with a jumbo large flat screen with cable and the NFL package, a very nicely maintain and supplied library, a gigantic full use community kitchen, jumbo sized outside community grill, picnic tables throughout the facility, full use laundry with newer machines, 4 full sized pool tables and cues, shuffle board area, fenced in dog park. Lots of activities weekly and monthly including; meal gatherings most are free when there was a change it was $3 and we had everything a breakfast fan could want with seconds and thirdds, social dances, holiday events, Karaoke night, game night, Thursday morning coffee and donuts social, casino night to name a few. Several clubs/groups including; shuffelboard, cornhole, arm chair aerobics, water aerobics, horseshoes, billiards, sewing clubs and I'm sure I'm missing some. This a very convenient location. Located on the very Eastern edge of Mesa at 202 and Main Street/E Apache Trail with quick access to highway 60 only blocks away. Everything is a short distance away and I mean every type of grocery, restaurant, fast food, large retailer, hospital only minutes away. The fire department is only 5 to 7 minutes away. There is a river and a few lakes within 20 minutes. There are hiking areas close by also state parks all around our us again within 20 minutes or less. And something very, very important to me is my security and privacy. Everyone here watch's out for each other. We all protect ourselves and our properties. However, a big thing for me is my privacy. I don't like keeping up with the Jones or knowing everything Jones are doing. Everyone here is very respectful of their neighbors privacy and its nice and quite. But, you are not going to be lonely here unless you want to be. We are NOT DEAD by any means but, it is nicely quiet after 10 pm. NO Druggies, Tweekers, Punks or road trash, large or vicious dogs. I looked up the area myself on the crime maps that show the level of illegal activity and we are in the lowest area. Lots of vets and great people. And did I say the NEIGHBORS ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! YES THEY ARE! Oh something else our maintenance staff Ralph and John AMAZING! They have gone out of their way numerous times to be helpful, I just can't thank them enough! One more shout out again from the heart to Suzy and her staff of Ken, Ralph and John, you all made me feel important and welcome from the minute I set foot on the property and continue to do so everyday. I began the rental process and paid a cleaning deposit, first month's rent, and a security deposit. Shortly afterward, I discovered the mobile home had multiple health and safety hazards that were cited by the gas company. Because of these issues, I did not sign the lease or move in. Despite this, Mark Galbraith kept my money ($2,025) and stopped returning my calls/texts. I reported the situation to the Brighthaven Estates manager, Ron. While he was very pleasant and said he would follow up, I never heard back. This leads me to believe that management is aware of -- and allowing -- owners to rent out unsafe mobile homes.

Our clubhouse is now home to the office making it easy to connect. Mailroom & laundry room are being repaired after a water leak! The tiny lawns are all well manicured, there's a nice Pleasantville feeling to it all. It's all very lovely, but the club house is what it's all about. There's a nice fitness center, a billards room, a pool and a huge spa, with a poolside bar. What?! That's right, a poolside bar! I'm now 80 years old. After interacting with Debra Senger I vowed never to enter the office again and it's now been 8 years. Apparently that problem was resolved by the Management Company. However, in the past eight years there has been a steady increase in the land rent every year even though the property has been owned by the same people since the 1980s. Even during COVID when people were not working. So annual social security payment increases mean that all we do is turn the money over to Brentwood Southern. It does not benefit the senior citizen. Residents who have tall palm trees on their lots are required to pay for the trimming every year even though the trees do NOT belong to them but to Brentwood Southern. And the residents are NOT allowed to use their own landscapers at a cheaper cost, but MUST use the community landscaping. The current cost is $70 per tree. Those of us who are living on just social security find this a real hardship. Also this year each owner was assessed a portion of the community's property tax bill. Even though we pay our own personal property tax to the county, now we have to pay the community property tax.? There are many residents here who are retired and living on fixed incomes. They can ill afford to have some kind of cost increase for living in this community that offers very few amenities. I wish I had known all of this while I was searching for a nice, quiet community.

The Americans With Disabilities website states that under the "Housing Act" accomodations must be made for disabled people with an "Emotional Support Animal" . If this is not done, it is considered discrimination and they can be sued. This is exactly what I plan on doing. I see by the reviews that others have had bad experiences with her. Shame on the company for employing her, and shame on her for being so rude and hateful. I would not live there now if the lot rent was free.
