I rushed through the front doors of Sunlight Photo Lab at 3pm last Saturday, breathless and frantic. One hour earlier, the overpriced Hollywood lab I'd relied on to print my photographs for over a decade had failed me, delivering prints that badly distorted the color and contrast of my photographs, and that were printed on the flimsiest photo paper available. I was in a serious bind. I needed high-quality prints of two-dozen digital photographs I was due to have framed and ready for sale the next morning. Refusing to give up, I hopped on Yelp and searched for a printer in my area. To my utter astonishment, I found a lab with tremendous reviews, a lab that assured me over the phone that they could print my photos as soon as I delivered them, and a lab that was, on top of all that, only one mile away from my home in downtown Los Angeles. That lab was Sunlight. From the moment I walked - or rather dashed into their lab, and throughout the entire process of printing, the employees at Sunlight were welcoming and accommodating. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't recall the name of the gentleman who so patiently worked with me to get my prints just right, but he was clearly a master printer with a wealth of experience that informed his every suggestion and choice. At the same time, he was unfailingly kind and forbearing despite the fact that I was likely acting like a complete lunatic with the pressure I was feeling to get these prints right. I knew instantly when he handed me the first print that Sunlight was my new spot. They did remarkable work with my photographs, and helped me look like a much better photographer than I actually am. When all the printing was finished, I was prepared to pay amply - and rightfully so - for such prompt, expert work. But I was astonished once more when I saw that the total price was roughly 30% lower than what I'd anticipated paying at the lab I used to frequent. I know this might all sound too good to be true, but please believe me when I assure you it's all fact. It's no exaggeration to say that Sunlight is easily the best printer in this area, and among the very best in all of Los Angeles. Whether you're an amateur photographer, a hobbyist, or even a professional, Sunlight will go above and beyond to provide you with superb prints that exceed your expectations. read more

Awesome customer service!! Had a great experience with Sunlight...used them a couple months back when I was preparing to propose to my girlfriend. The plan was to have dozens of photos of us in the room when I got down on one knee to propose, so I gave Sunlight a huge batch of photos to print. All the pics came out looking great, even the grainy photos taken on my old phone! The owners even called to discuss which photos they recommend upsizing, and which ones really couldn't be done without the quality degrading, very nice of them to take initiative and call me for this. The quality of the paper they print on is top notch, everything was delivered on time and most importantly, their customer service exceeded my expectations! They definitely helped make the proposal special. Oh, and by the way, she said yes! read more

The work is beautiful and tasteful, there's a very good range of products available for different events. I had a 9*17 Signing book for our daughter's Quinceañera and it was beautifully designed by them, the printing and binding was also terrific. Once we received the pictures taken by our photographer we had Sunlight Print out enlargements and a 24*36 incredible canvas. The prices are very good, but the quality and customer service, specially Jasmin who took care of us even when we had no clue what we were doing. We strongly recommend! read more

I heard about Sunlight from a friend and decided to give them a shot to print a few things for my wedding. I had them enlarge and mount a photo of my finance I wanted to display. I also asked them to print my seating chart and mount it nice and large so my guests wouldn't have a hard time finding which table they were seated at. They suggested I give them one more photo of us and that they would overlay the seating chart above it. What a GENIOUS idea! Killed two birds with one stone. The quality was AMAZING... and now I have the photos of me and hubby hanging above our bed. They did a great job. Thank you! read more

The guys are absolutely amazing. I was in a bind with prints for a show and on a budget. I recently moved from NYC, and had no idea where to go. Found them on yelp and decided to take a chance, so happy I did. I thought I'd have to pay tons extra for a one-day rush job and overpriced printing, but no! They gave me a great deal and had my prints ready in 10 minutes. 10 fricking minutes! I'll definitely be going to Sunlight Photo for all of my future printing needs. Thanks again guys! read more

Been coming here for 4 years and counting!!!!.... I was referred here by a friend back in 2012. I've been coming here ever since for ALL my photo prints! As a photographer, I look for customer service, quality, turnaround, and overall experience. I shoot constant (weddings, grad photos, baptisms, 15eras) so I needed a place where I can trust with my work. What I love about this place is that it's family owned, and there are NO egos here! Customer service feels like family! EVERYONE there treats you professionally and some even know me by name. Their communication is great via email or phone. When I am unsure of print sizes, they are always happy to make suggestions. The quality of prints are A-grade. I print photos, albums, and mounted frames. I keep suggesting that they put a tip-jar because I am always impressed when I pick up my orders. Their turnaround for prints are quick. Sometimes same-day if you prep your photos correctly. The best part is I can submit my photos online for print, and they'll be ready when I drive over to the lab. read more

I love to take pictures and have been looking for a local spot to develop. My father highly recommended this location but unfortunately the woman at the counter was rude and told me the prices were higher than what was posted on their website. read more

I'm sure they do great work; seems like it. I actually when there today and was told that they stopped film processing about a year ago. They NEED to remove that service that is listed on their website. Luckily the lady who served me gave me the 411 and referred me to a film lab a few blocks around the corner. Thus the three starts for the help... read more

If I can give 0 starts to this business I would do it.. I called today because I needed to print 1 photo and the owner doesn't know or understand what customer service meant.. she never asked for my name (because she said that she is not going to look for every client that calls), and she just asked what size I was going to print so I went back to double check my text messages with my client to make sure I was telling here the right size.. so She assumed that I wasn't a photographer so I was going to be charged full price because It took me one minute to reply about the measurements of my print.. So she started arguing with me that if i was a photographer i would be printing more often in her store, and i didn't know my resale number???? This was my second and last time i try to go to this place that is ugly and ghetto... I guess I will stick printing with real companies like I have been doing it for more than 6 years with WHCC, Millers, Bay photo lab and others that really knows what value has any person, photographer or client... not this crappy people... read more

This place produces great work and they are quick. I have been here 4 times to have prints made. Twice, I've dealt with an older lady that was extremely helpful and kind each time. The other 2 times, I've dealt with a man who I assume is the owner. Both times I've walked in with him there, he gave me a sideways look and seemed extremely hesitant to want to help me. The first time, I came in about 20 minutes before they closed and he told me they were about to close and couldn't do my prints at the moment. I told him I'd pick them up another day and he grumbled about it but agreed. This morning, I walked in and got the same look and hesitancy. He also quoted me retail price for the prints when I have paid wholesale the last 2 times. I let him know this and he said I need to have a business license for wholesale prices. I let him know that I do have a business license and his response was "well, you don't have an account with us." I walked out and a few minutes later, called him up to ask how I can open an account with them. He told me I needed a business license to which I told him again that I do have one. He then started to run down a bunch of obstacles to open one which very obviously seemed to be him just trying to deter me from attempting to open one. I'm not sure what this man's issue is but he actively tries to prevent business from coming to him. It's a shame because I love the work they do and it's only about 10 minutes from my house but I'm going to have to find somewhere else to go now. read more

I had a great experience with Sunlight Photo lab. I ordered 2 books with them and the quality was great. My clients were happy also because it took them a week to print it. I used to order albums with a different company and it took them 5 weeks to deliver them to me! I'm totally going to work with Sunlight from now on. They are very professional and make sure that the client is happy. They even fixed the album that wasn't printed at their lab and gave me a free box for it! How awesome is that! read more
