I went to her online shop and found some lovely things to purchase! She sent me a lovely text thanking me for my purchase and explaining that she would need to do some substitutions because one of her suppliers had lost everything in the fire. I appreciated that she contacted me and asked me about my preferences. We finally made it back to Maui and came to the Kihei Marketplace looking for a vendor that had a plant shop we had visited years ago and wanted to buy another plant. We didn't see him but asked some other vendors if they knew where he was and they pointed us in the direction of this lovely shop Sunkissed Wahine that sold some of Mikes plants. We got a few Pulmeria plants and ended up finding souvenirs for our friends and family back on the mainland. Also found the cutest card that said "Mahalo for Pet Sitting" and was perfect to bring home for the pet sitters. There was a talented artist that had a painting we had to take home of the beach my hubby and I got married on years ago. This is a must stop at shop while you are in Maui, so great to support local vendors with locally made products. Seems many souvenir shops on the island all have the same things this was a breath of fresh air! read more

Such a cute little boutique with any gift ideas. I found them through yelp so decided to do some exploring to find it. Hidden in Kihei with many other shops. In the pyramid along with shops and bars. As you walk in their are some hand made jewelry and lotions and soaps that smell great. Knick nacks for the dog and cloth towels with cute sayings in them. The jewelry and earrings are adorable especially with seashells. With holidays approaching it's have great gift ideas I like that they sell the sunscreen that's safe for the reefs. Adore almost all the smells of perfume and lotions; I could spend hours there lol! When I came there I ended buying a tube lotion and soap which smelled really great. Ended up giving as a gift. This quaint little hub is tucked in a larger shopping arena. But don't write this off as a tacky tourist trap. They carry all locally made island treasures. The owner/operator truly understands quality service and quality products. I highly recommend finding this shop. I've lived on the island 26 years and good solid retailers can be hard to find. Best shop on the island! Really cute stuff for very resonable prices and all of it is made locally. I purchased several pieces of unique jewelry, and it was all very resonable! So much of the stuff that is sold on the islands comes from other places and its really sad...Its nice to be able to bring stuff back to the mainland, you can gift with pride, that it really came from the islands (even Maui specifically). I've been coming to Sunkissed Wahine on my Maui trips for years and it never disappoints. So many locally made gifts and unique items, you can't go wrong at this store. I was so glad that they survived the last year and a half, and was excited to see they have an online store now too! It's tucked away in the Kihei Kalama shopping center, so it takes some effort to find it, but you'll be glad you did. While in Hawaii... I noticed that so many gifts I was wanting to purchase were "made in China". Not cool with me...... So I did a search on Yelp for "made in hawaii" and this shop came up. What a NICE surprise!!! The location of the store is tucked on the side of an open air market. But it's very easy to find. The owner Annie, has made her store stocked with all locally made, or made in USA products. Win/Win. I bought 2 small pieces of wooden art, and many candles and lotions, which smell wonderful and have "natural" ingredients. This made my heart happy!!! I visited this cute little shop in a grouping of stores. And what a breath of fresh air this was! I come from California and appreciate local products, natural products, unique products. I even picked up a few things and I don't usually buy things. A few Filthy Farmgirl Coconut chapsticks...for a stocking stuffers OMG the smell delish. And the ingredients seriously so awesome and readable, stuff I would find in a food store. I picked up a cute necklace too with sea glass in a cute little glass encasing that had been corked closed. Truly unique. And the person working there must have known the person that made the necklace the way she was talking to me. This is what I want in a store: Local, Natural, Unique.
