We just ate at Sunfield there were 25 of us children included and the service was great everyone ordered and our food came even quicker than we expected everyone enjoyed the food. Went here after a family outing to nearby Starved Rock State Park. I decided to go against my gut feeling and ordered Mahi Mahi for dinner (sounded like a good idea at the time). It was the worse piece of fish ever! The portion was tiny. It was very dry. It was clearly a frozen piece of fish. It had a fishy smell and it was over seasoned. After 2 bites, I had to ask for a trade. I felt like I was being offered a piece of dry tuna for $10.99. Not going back again. read more

It's kind of what you would expect. I just ended up disappointed. Although the menu was so vast as to be overwhelming, i was hoping for an all day breakfast menu. Anyhow, my gyros sandwich was satisfactory. The taste was just like that of an urban Greek place. Wife got the half slab ribs, taste was 'ok' for oven cooked and her fries were impressively delicious. We each got a cup of soup. The split pea was decent - the croutons inside surprisingly amazing. The 'chicken and Stars' soup was really great. The staff was pleasant. My complaint is that I just think the price was high for the level of (not-so-much)satisfaction. Hey this place was good! Seated right away on 4th of July weekend - my husband & I. We came in around 11 am for breakfast. I had the cinnamon bun French toast. Yummy! Not very healthy but the side of scrambled eggs complimented the dish. My husband had the house skillet with chicken & green/red peppers. He liked it. I took a bite and thought it was good. Coffee was great too. They had the international delight creamers & half & half. I love options. My coffee was never empty as the service was very good. Robin our server was phenomenal! Depends on whose cooking. No continuity in the taste of the same dish. I order a dish with mashed potatoes. Tonight they were brown like it was the bottom if the batch singed. Had dinner there one night- ordered liver and onions- waitress seemed to be in a very big hurry- soup was not hot and cup was only half full- she brought us the dinner well before we could finish the soup- liver was tough and stringy- asparagus was over- cooked, dried out and like leather- asked for a coffee refill and waitress forgot and had to ask again- then the waitress was bringing us the check before we were served the dessert- felt like we were getting the bum' s rush from the waitress- service was lousy- food was terrible- will never eat there again. This was our first planned stop during our week long vacation trip and we were not disappointed. It was Sunday morning so the church crowd was there however they were moving people right along so we only had a short wait. Our waitress was very quick and constantly provided us with coffee refills,our food was hot and portions were more than generous. My husband, step-daughter & I visited the new Sunfield Restaurant in Ottawa the other night for dinner and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is very nice, we were quickly greeted by the host who immediately seated us. We were started out with waters & a nice bread and cracker basket (I love that!). Our food was really tasty (Note: kid's meal spaghetti serving is HUGE lol). The only "complaints" I would have if I had to name any would be the salad was just a bit too watery and really thinned out my dressing and we had to wait a bit longer than I like for the check. So if that's all you can find wrong in comparison to everything else, you really don't even have a problem. :-) Give this place a try for sure! read more

This place sucks!!! I went there for breakfast with family and friends.as i was pulling in noticed elderly couple walking into the resturant. a few minutes later we walk in and the elderly couple are stilll waiting to be seated.I see booths open.nobody even seems to see all of us and the couple standing and waiting.then i see what appears to be the resturants manager with his big belly out and tooth pick in his mouth come out of the kitchen looks at us and looks the other way and walks away!!! mind you i and older couple have been standing fo 5 min a least.a reminder it wasnt even busy.now theres a crowd of people behind me.i seen some menus on the table in front of me and looked at it to find that the prices were way to high. i turned and looked at the crowd and said forget this place im going to cracker barrel!! as a joke the guy behind us said"you want me to tell them to save a seat?" i told them "no,you tell them to go to hell!"lol and next thing you know they changed managment.go figure. read more

Went here as we explored Starved Rock Area. Read Yelp reviews and thought we'd give it a shot. It's s Greek diner but better than many I've been to over the years. It always seems to me that Greek diners are big on portions and pages of selections on their menus but not so big on taste. I thought this one stood out. They serve you fresh sliced bread with real butter, both white slices and raisin slices. I had the chicken noodle soup and although it wasn't your Mom's it was better than most. I ordered the gyros and it came with homemade tzatziki sauce, and hubby had beef tips with noodles. Both were not only good portions but good. The service was excellent and very friendly. I'm not saying this is gourmet food, but if you want good solid comfort diner food with nice people, this is it. Hubby and I both said we'd go back there on our next visit. read more

This Restaurant is not owned by the rude old man that originally built it. The rude person that built this Ottawa location still owns the Yorkville restaurant and probably got run out of LaSalle County. Truck stop quality. Typical Greek restaurant fare. I hate being called honey by the waitresses.

There's varieties to choose from the menu which is good. I ordered the chicken kabobs dish which was horrible! The chicken was very dry and has no flavor. The Mediterranean rice was soggy! I also tried the mozzarella sticks which was hard and over fried! The fried calamaries was good, thats probably the only thing I'll ordered.My husband ordered the steak dinner which looks okay and taste good. The price is reasonable. read more
