This is a much needed hotel in town. We have stayed here over the weekend when visiting family…read more The staff is very pleasant and our check in was a breeze. The king room we got was very spacious, with very comfortable bed and clean shower. The gym is well equipped with cardio machines and weight lifting multi purpose machine plus some free weights. Included pool is average size, located next to the gym. Breakfast was included with our stay and it's the standard continental breakfast you get at every Hampton inn hotel except this dinning area includes self dispensing beer machine that charges $/oz. You may want to skip the beer dispenser for breakfast but it's in the dinning room area accessible throughout the day. Overall great experience. I hope the hotel owner focus his staff on keeping the hotel rooms clean as time moves on.

There was also spot where you can pay and pour your own beer from the tap. Pool, fitness center work area. And to top it off it is also pet friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The hotel is more in the middle of the town close to the fields for the kids sporting events, grocery and plenty of places to eat. Really the best location in my opinion. With Hampton placing a hotel here it also brought in some additional businesses surrounding it, which was much needed in an area that had been ignored for a long time. Very happy with our stay.

I was greeted with a warm welcome and a huge heart. I told her my situation and she offered an open ear. Gave me the hours she worked, and said if I needed someone to talk to she would be out in the front area. Although I had hoped to see Melody again I was on a tight schedule and had to head back to Denver. This woman made a difference in my life that day I checked in. She's got a heart of gold! I have bragged about her. She made a difference. Also, my checkout sheet had a personal note from her. " May you be the reason, someone smiles today". In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it means a lot for a little things like this! Thank you Melody from the bottom of my heart. You gave me a reason to smile. The world needs more people like you! Nichole Boss

The rooms were clean and it was a quiet hotel. The only problem I had was the manager. When I first checked in for my 8 days in the hotel, I informed her I was a Diamond elite member. I do this because I check in through a workplace app instead of the IHG app. This way they can be sure to add my points. The manager became rude and belligerent asking me if I thought I was special and she didn't care that I was Diamond elite. Maybe she had a bad day? She definitely misunderstood my intentions and had no control of her emotions and was very unprofessional. Other than that it was a nice hotel and all the desk clerks were friendly and helpful!

I have no clue how this establishment has the current rating it does. With the EXCEPTION of Megan…read moreat the front t desk who was kind, courageous and professional, this was probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are run down and outdated. And while I can appreciate a complete upgrade being expensive, Ramada made over $1.26M in profit last year. Ramada .... do better! There were no standard pillows. It's a bunch of 12" square "pillows" with no consistency in filling so you can't even try and put them together. It's winter in Nebraska and there is the lightest weight bed covering (I won't call it a blanket) I've ever seen. The sink backs up within a few seconds of running the water, the toilet seat is so worn there are spots where it's not white (but that's better than the one in my cousin's room - their's was broken). The bathroom door has wood peeled off and one of our clean towels that was folded for use had orange stains. Crappy cheap and really old plastic ice buckets were sitting on the counter for use and the closet had 2 hangers for my use. The ironing board was broken and the bed mattresses were so old and broken down I slept at an angle. I was scheduled to check out on Monday. However, my room was locked on Sunday as there had been some kind of mixup. I went to the front desk and told them that my reservation was made through Monday. They said they didn't have it and I could stay but they would then increase my rate by $50 (because I no longer would receive the guest discount associated with the venue event) there was absolutely no way it was worth it at that point and I went over to the Hampton Inn for the same price. It was like going from a motel to a Ritz Carlton. The Hampton Inn may be a bit more expensive, but without a doubt worth every single penny. Lastly, and more importantly, we were staying there as guests of an event that was being hosted there. I was later told by the host of that event that in Columbus, there is absolutely no alternative if you want to host an event in Columbus. It was abundantly clear that the staff and Hotel knows this because the service was abysmal and downright rude. Of course you need to use their bar service where they charge $2.50 for a cup of soda (probably about 5-6 ounces). And don't even think of asking for the full can ... I asked if I paid for 2 drinks if I could get the can. I was told no, that they get 2 1/2 drinks out of every can. I then offered to pay for THREE drinks ($7.50) and was told no because other people might then want a can! Seriously? (If you go to the vending machine right in the hallway, $2.50 will buy you a 20 ounce bottle - which I did). Although the prices were high, it was the incredibly rude service that was more offensive. The host constantly ran in to issues when asking for assistance, and I would just greatly encourage anybody to find another venue, even if that means driving further than you wanted to. The only way I would go back is if I saw a huge "under new management" sign hanging out in front.
