The Sunday World is nothing but paramilitary rubbish and local gossip distilled into one local rag, posing these local thugs and miscreants as some type of pantomime villains. I thought Northern Ireland was making a good attempt at moving on in the last decade, but judging by the recent increase in activity and the enduring popularity of this paper, I guess not as much progress has been made as imagined!
I would review the rest of the paper but there isn't much to discuss here, everything is of a fairly low standard. I will instead issue a gripe and a story! Firstly the bar-code on this paper is located in the most awkward place known to man, right under the logo, which annoys me and must annoy other shop assistant yelpers out there!
As for my story, in the shop I used to work at there was a customer who was plastered over the front of the paper for links to the BNP party. My friend who knew him was sitting reading the paper, calling him some fruity names to say the least, only to bring his paper down and see the star of the show sitting in front of him, pure awkwardness distilled into one moment! read more
