We heard good things and we liked the location for sure , so we decided to stop by for dinner. My husband had the fried seafood platter and I chosen the clam chowder and calamari. First time here ... definitely recommend!!! From the food which was fantastic to the phenomenal staff especially Mike and Diane who were right on top of whatever you needed. I would compare it to the Cheers show on tv as they treated everyone who came in as if you've known them for years. Unfortunately we were there the last day of the season but it's definitely on top of our list for next year . Kudos to the owners !!! read more

Came here with family for a nice relaxing lunch. We were able to be seated outside next to the water and the weather was a lovely 75 cloudy day, so it was perfect. I got the fisherman's platter which came with a nice variety of fried scallops, shrimp, clams, calamari, and haddock. I liked the curl shape of the fries. Pricey at market price but a large portion (shared with my husband). Service was friendly and efficient, we got our appetizers first and entrees a good amount of time after. My only complaint is that there was a hair in my water and potentially one in the tartar sauce too. read more

I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant on Yelp with such a terrible rating. But thought I would add my two cents: We have known Sundance's for ever. Our favorite thing is to boat up to the dock and go get lunch there. There are not a lot of places you can boat to and tie up, walk along the dock and get lunch! So that's 5 stars. We got there on early on an off season day (after Labor Day) and sat outside. The sun was beating down on all the tables but we were told to sit at "any table along the railing" so we did. Soon though the sun was too much and we moved to a table in the shade. Our waiter told us we couldn't sit there because it was reserved for 6 people. So we went back to our original table. I watched as 4 older women also had the same issue. And of course the whole time we were there the 3 tables in the shade were never occupied. I get it. I do. But in the off season you should just have your customers be happy. We left feeling annoyed and unsatisfied with the whole experience. The waiter was just not on the ball, and accommodating at all 1 star. The food was ok: 3 stars. Not going back. read more

two of us went to Sundancers on 7/27/25, we order fresh steamers they ddi say in the descrition you may find sand WELL. the steamers had has much sand as a beach and the clams were So salty they were unediable. It was as they were cooked in sea water with a handful or 2 of kosher salt. We called the server over who was extremley plesant and spoke to her of problem. We did offer to speak to the manager, who never came to the table. They did remove the charge on the steamers, but you will not see us again at the Sundancer, Exctremley poor food quality and a poor attitude. read more

This place was remarkably bad. For starters there is nothing unique or different about this bar compared to others in the area. But the real issue is the service - the bartenders were outright disrespectful to the entire group we were with - men, women alike. Then on top of that you have the smug owner who goes back on his word, doesn't have any sympathy for the issues they created and should probably be barred from the service industry writ large. I went to watch that 80&s band at the establishment I was charged 12 dollars for a surfside seltzer which I tipped a dollar for I then started a tab with a 30 dollar minimum I was charged 89.88 twice and refunded once I then got a bill for 93 dollars for 3 seltzers when I objected I was told it was a 7% alcohol tax I then was told the seltzers had gone up to 16 dollars when I objected to that I received another bill for the right amount but because my card was maxed I was told to go get another card I would not recommend this place to anybody besides overcharging they also try to scam you I would never come here again I would rather pay for honest service I lived in Cape my whole life and used to live this place not anymore read more

When we first arrived & my arms were sticking to the top of the table that should have been my indicator to just have a drink & leave. It was happy hour Friday afternoon and a live music event was going on. When on the Cape I order seafood! WARNING : This is not the place to get seafood. My scallop roll consisted of a ten inch sub roll with 6 bland & sandy scallops and about 18 fries for $20. My mom ordered the chicken Parmesan which consisted of a few over fried & over breaded not even chewable chicken tenders and a nasty red sauce with a few shreds of not even melted mozzarella over mushy pasta. My fiancés wings were rubbery and the garlic Parmesan sauce was not good at all. The place was so loud. The server was very inattentive forgetting a drink, sitting down at a table with locals for a couple of minutes after taking our order delaying our service slightly. My dad did enjoy the prime rib meal he had. Not a place I would return to ever. read more

This is now the second or third time giving this place "another shot" and every time I come in, I regret it within minutes. The hostess was rude enough to us (unprovoked) when we walked in that another waiter apologized as he walked us to our table and said "sorry, she can be tough." Maybe I'm spoiled from going to literally any other restaurant that I got used to wait staff having a shred of warmth/ kindness? Once we sat down, my partner ordered a daiquiri and our waiter (overweight bald dude) laughed in his face. We didn't get the joke and asked him to explain, and he responded "men don't order daiquiri's". Okkk Mr. waitress! Also, the food is mid and the daiquiri was red ice chips. read more

In other words, the food is a complete afterthought, they don't know what they're doing, and this place should really just be a bar. It's a shame because the waterfront setting is beautiful. My only hope is that they get put out of business so that something else can take it's place. I've never said that about any restaurant before but I promise you that statement is warranted. Our food took an hour an a half to come out. Baked scallops were dry, flavorless, and I could've done better at home and the $40 lobster roll was nothing special. After over 30 years of my family being customers including hosting my own wedding rehearsal dinner here, celebrating milestones and watching my parents (my Dad no longer being here with us) have many a special date nights and family nights at Sundancers, I can no longer in good conscience return. Absolute worst dining experience/customer service. Portion sizes have been cut, prices raised, menu favorites gone. Ok inflation, so tried to look past all that. However, we went in with two toddlers, two grandma's, 2 adults and 3 young adults. There to celebrate my brother and sisters 20th birthday. Went early at 5pm to beat the rush and maximize the time. Told we could not bring in outside food when trying to sing with a cake at the end of the meal. Ready to look past it with zero resistance. I privately ask the server if they offer anything for birthdays to which she happily replies she'll bring a slice of chocolate cake. Get the bill and we are charged $8 for the slice. Never told it wasn't complimentary. Thinking it's an honest mistake and the server is rude back and sends a manger. Manager says the server is new and she'll take it off the bill. Another manager comes over offers no apology and is condescending and dismissive. Later realize, they may have took off the $8 cake, but added 20% tip to the bill (this was not on the original bill). During this, the band starts playing so my husband and I take our 2 and 4 year old to dance (as we pumped up Sundancers for a place to have fun, dance and wear Hawaiian attire which we did). The second manager/bartender (bald larger guy) who told us we can't bring in outside food came over to tell us we can't have our kids dancing where they were. This felt completely over the top and just because he was frustrated that we mentioned being charged $8 on an over $200 bill. The guests nearby loved clapping and smiling at our dancing kids but the manager shuts it down. Our 4 year starts crying and the very kind, awesome guitarist comes all the way down the restaurant to play for him and cheer him up. The hostess was unfriendly and showed annoyance that I said we didn't need a high chair after she set it up. The server was friendly up until I politely pointed out her charging me for something she passed off as complimentary. The two people who stated they were managers took something that could've easily and quickly been rectified and instead made it into a situation where I left never wanting to return to a place I loved. The view is spectacular, but the food is overpriced, small portions, poor quality in comparison to a local place like Skippers which charges the same or less and gives you far more. The way they treated us as polite, repeat customers is appalling. I left and cried when we would've stayed, danced and spent more $ on drinks. read more

Salad was dull, 3 cherry tomatoes, a few croutons, a bit of red onion. Thank goodness I added the shrimp. Iced tea was bottom of the barrel. Had to reorder. Fries were overdone, pastrami over cooked. Spoke to the staff and were very reasonable about asking for it to be removed as it wasn't what we ordered, but unfortunately ownership wasn't willing to budge on anything. One of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. The food ranged from poor to terrible, including overcooked chewy swordfish and bland, gloppy Alfredo sauce. The margaritas tasted like cheap mixer, overly sweet and very weak. When we politely tried to send it back to swap out for a safer bet (wine) the request was refused. My husband and I took one night away to visit Cape cod, and went to this bar for a drink. My husband asked the bartender what her name was, she responded, "Diane." He does this every time we go out and has done it for years. From that point on she got us our drinks and it was very apparent that she did not want to engage with us at all, only with the locals. We attempted to play Keno and when we waited patiently for about 10 minutes to hand in our tickets she finally looked at us and boldly stated, "everything is down," and didn't even make eye contact. After quite some time, after realizing that she was just very ignorant and rude, we knew that we were not welcome there. The locals sitting next to us were amazing and awesome and we had great conversation with them. When we were ready to leave my husband called out her name to get our bill and it was at that point that she said to the male bartender, "now he's calling my name," and the male bartender came over and tried to scold my husband. Unfortunately there was a verbal altercation, and I will be honest with you, Diane was an absolute miserable, unprofessional, bitch, and extremely ignorant, and obviously in the wrong profession!! She was extremely rude to us as visitors from out of town, and we will never be back again. I do not recommend this bar at all! read more

Loved the atmosphere of this place. It had a fun interior and Live music. We got there a little early for the music. It was just starting as we were leaving. We sat on the patio and had a nice view of the river (?) The menu was decent and a wide variety of American foods including seafood and a raw bar. I saw a guy get a lobster roll that looked huge. I should have gotten that We ordered some cocktails and mocktails. We were told initially they didn't have the mocktails we wanted. But they ended up finding them and brought them to our table. Service was incredibly slow though it wasnt very busy. Once we finally placed our food order we got fried pickles and others in my party got fish tacos, shrimp chicken fingers and grilled cheese. I ordered the fish and chips We had been there about 1.5 hours by the time we got our food. My fries were cold, the chicken fingers were burned. The shrimp meal was nice and hot while my items were not. Both my fish and chips were lukewarm at best and I felt like that was partly due to the 90 degree day. The fried pickles were ok, there was too much batter on most of them making them soggy and uncooked. The only redeeming part of my meal was the fish was very good, though small portion and lukewarm. It sure tastes fresh. I enjoyed it. For some reason my meal didn't have the Cole slaw but the table next to me had Cole slaw more fish and more fries than mine. I felt a little slighted. read more

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE AFTER THIRTY YEARS IN DENNIS AND THE SURROUNDING CAPE TOWNS. Hears the rundown: meal was off to a bad start, two thirds of the draft beers our party attempted to order had disgusting debris in the bottom of the glasses which made it obvious that the bar taps are not being cleaned. Absolutely VILE. I do have to say our server was on the ball while being caught in the crossfire of this dismal dining experience. Finally some food comes as two appetizers were ordered. The seafood stuffed mushrooms... Ehhh... Not worth the $13.99, by far. On to the potato skins... Aka one measly spud split down the middle with some random condiments plopped on it, props to the sour cream, must've been Daisy, best part of the appetizer stage. Meals come, I wish you yelpers could have seen these things first hand!! Fish tacos must've been made with fried guppies, the one piece of fried fish was so miniscule, I almost felt embarrassed for the proprietor of the joint. On to the "Nantucket Scallop Wrap Special", I've seen better wraps at 7-11 where they have those taquito stick things spinning on the heat. The all Star of the entrees, the braised BBQ sandwich. Looked like a moldy roll with the dried seaweed that you find at low tide in August after it has dried to a crisp. read more

While I can't blame the servers or kitchen crew for being understaffed, a 30 minute wait for the first half of our party and then an additional 30 minutes for the second half (some of which were the exact same meal) is unacceptable. Half of our party had been long finished with their meals by the time we finally got our food. We watched the same thing happen at tables around us. I was surprised that management didn't offer to comp any of our order after this situation and left our waitress to fend for herself when she had no control over the situation. I've worked in the restaurant industry and have sympathy for the staff. However, we never should have been seated as a party if the kitchen staff is unable to prep nine meals to come out within 30 minutes of each other. Management needs to hire up for the summer or scale down the number of guests they try to service each night. If this was the case with empty tables I can't imagine how much worse it will get in July. read more

We stopped for (off-season) lunch on a recommendation. I enjoyed the view of the river and my husband enjoyed the sports on TV. My open-faced turkey sandwich was like Thanksgiving dinner. Pretty good (but I make better stuffing). My husband's steak and cheese sub was really delicious! The steak fries were thin for steak fries, and he enjoyed them.
