The young man working the booth was very pleasant and friendly. The bikes itself were not exactly what they have on display, as the bikes we received were somewhat dated and rusting. Andrew was able to give the bike an inspection that day and clear the bike of visible and performance damage... he was very knowledgeable , understanding of my duress, and turned the bike around in a very timely fashion for a shop that obviously is busy...I'll be back next year to rent as we will fly the 700 miles....

No one answered and I was sent to voicemail. I left a message and did not receive a response. I loaded the bike into the car and went to Hilton Head Outfitters, where they kindly inflated both tires for me. I then went out for a bike ride. About a mile and a half out, I heard a loud springing sound from the rear of the bike, like the fender had fallen off. When I pulled over, I discovered the back tire was completely flat. The bike was unrideable and I had to walk it back to the Palmetto Dunes General Store, where I locked it up and walked the rest of the way back to my condo. I spoke to a woman at Island Cruisers the following morning. Instead of apologizing for my experience and offering to make it right, she told me the bike was in good condition when it was dropped and that I must've ridden over something, an interesting response given that I had not ridden the bike at the time I discovered the flat tires. She claimed the photograph of the bike identifying where it was located in the garage proved the tires weren't flat. Of course, there was no one sitting on the bike or squeezing the tires at the time the photo was taken so this claim is utter nonsense. The only positive in the entire experience is that they did issue a full refund. However, that was a small consolation. That they would blame the customer instead of considering the possibility that the crew dropped off the bike without thoroughly checking it out speaks volumes.

They will deliver and the prices are much better. We biked everyday it did not rain, and we were cruising on our hybrid bikes with gears past the beach bike rentals. The bikes are in great shape and not left out in the rain to rust!
