First, I would like to say that this review is not for the local branch. I would easily give them 5…read morestars. Let me just say that the only reason we stay with BBVA is that we love the people at our local branch and we've always had excellent service from them. Otherwise, we would have closed all our accounts and found a more competent company. If I could give negative stars to the mortgage loan department, I would. My wife and I decided to refinance our house to get a lower interest rate. Keep in mind, we didn't have to refinance, because we were handling our existing mortgage easily. We weren't affected by Covid or any other adverse conditions. We just wanted a lower interest rate and our payments would be reduced by $200 per month. Oh, one thing, this was started one whole year ago and just closed this week. Were we marginal risks? No. Our credit rating is in the high 700s. The equity in our home was over 50%. Our income was adequate to qualify and no late payments on anything. This loan should be a slam-dunk, right? Wrong. We filled out all the paperwork at least 7 or 8 times. They always needed something else. These were the same things that were just given to them over and over. Communication was non-existent. I would call almost on a daily basis for updates and got voicemails and no response for weeks at a time. I have pages of dozens of emails, most with no response. We paid upfront for an appraisal that was recertified at least 3 more times. Even the appraisers were wondering why they were being sent out. We got to know them on a first name basis. We had to get a new survey, because they said the one we had was too old. Keep in mind, nothing has changed on our property since we bought the raw land and built our house on it. These 2 items cost us over $1000. I was getting payoffs from my existing mortgage company every month, because they kept telling me, when they did talk to me, that we were closing. I have 16 different closing estimates over the year period. First, we were supposed to get $2000 back at closing, instead we wound up paying over $1400 to close. When we finally closed, they were supposed to wire the money to the title agency to pay off the mortgage, fees and finalize the closing documents. BBVA sent the wire to some title agency we never heard of. By the time they got the money to the correct place, it was about 9 days. The only reason it was that soon, is that the local title agency was on the ball. If it was up to BBVA, the money would still be bouncing around the country. I could go on for pages about the incompetence of the loan department at BBVA mortgage loan department. If you want to hear more, if you decide to apply (bad idea), please contact me first. PNC bank will be taking over BBVA soon. Will it get better? I doubt it. Some of the people I was dealing with came from PNC.

terrible service for sure. Went into bank to check on rates and they cannot do it until the next…read moreday. After that money was taken out of our checking account without permission.

In November of 2017, I contacted Brannen Bank of Inverness,, Spoke to Connie, the Loan officer,…read more She was Very Polite and Professional,,, I let her know I was buying a Home, and had borrowed 25,000 that needed to be repaid ASAP due to the Interest, So the Quicker our closing,, The Better for Me. She informed me that It would help to open my Checking account with them, No problem ,, so I did. I knew the house would appraise for at least 32,000,, was Told no Problem, I let her know when The closing was, and Would have all my Paper work ready. We disscussed, what I wanted for my Pymt, which wasn't a problem,,, I closed the in Dec, and the next day, met again with Connie. Everything in order, all my Info, Was here. process was to begin, this was near the 9 of Dec. The middle of Dec, I called,, for update,, was Told it's a Process,,,, Now it's the End of Dec,, No News,, Jan 2018, called Left message, No response,, around Jan 9th, left mess, no response,, Called again, finally,, Was told it's a Process. Around the 15 th, called Left message, no return call, another day, another Message, after numerous messages, and no return call, I had to just show up ,looking for answers, still nothing, so I finally started leaving Hand written notes with Tellers to personally hand them to Connie. Got a call, ,,it's a process,,, Now its the 18th of January, still have Not Recieved any Answers as to when our closing is. But was told Appraisal was ordered, all most 3 months later,, Finally, Jan 26, The Appraisal was completed. Came in ,was good, Now a Date for closing,, I Thought. No,, February,, another long month, with my Interest accurring. This is Not what I expected at all.. I'm too far into it too cancel,,, So,,Finally the Beginning of March, a Closing date. Closed around the 2nd week of March. But it wasn't what we Discussed as Far as monthly Payments, or The length of the Loan. But I took it. I did cancel my Bank Checking account after my Experience. Fast forward March of 2019,,, I thought I would do a refi to lower my pymnts, Went to a Mortgage company, Inspire of Inverness,, Not a good experience. So I called Brannen, to see about a refi. I spoke too Brenda,,, after 5 days, I got my response,,,,,,, I never was late, always paid more than recommended pymt. After she Disscussed it with Her Boss,,,, Was told No,, Nothing they can do. I said,,,You are the Lender, I'm not asking for cash, just a few more yrs to help lower my pymt.,,I was told No,, Thank you good bye. I was shocked, But learned a Great Lesson. Home Town Banks are only good if you Grew up in the Town. But My Experience with Brannen is Not Good. I will continue to make my pymts plus extra interest, just to pay it off early. Every Bank Teller I dealt with was Very Nice,, Polite,, and Helpful,, The Loan Officers,, well,,,, My outcome says it all. Please do your Homework before Dealing with Brannen Bank.

I have been a customer for over 4 years and could not be happier. I was a customer with another…read morebank for over 40 years that closed its branch in town. I was happy with them but they got too big and you did not have that home town feel or care about maintaining its business with established customer. At Brannen Bank I am always greeted by name and each time I needed something like a loan or money exchanged for travel it was explained what the cost was going to be and I was given all my options. Visa/MC charges not coming thru, Venmo not coming thru, can't deposit a check without the internet!!! One day, the internet was down and they "couldn't take my check". I don't know if they don't train their employees or what? No, you can't buy BTC with your own money in this bank. The robotic answer to EVERYTHING is, "we don't do that" "We are a conservative bank" Well, yes...when you walk in the branch office, it feels like you are back in the 80's. Old furniture you would see in a school cafeteria, dirty carpet, a woman who won't let you finish a sentence before she interrupts...terrible customer service. With all the people moving here from other places that have normal progressive banks, I can't imagine they even have any customers.
