This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any massage/spa place…read more I came in today for a walk in massage and a lady walked up to me and seemed surprised I was there. I asked if she could do a 60 minute massage and she said ok and told me to go into a room. She stands there and stares at me as i start taking off my jacket and asks "You pay cash?" I said "Yes I have cash." She goes to leave and then turns around and said something along the lines of "pay in advance" and I was confused as I've never been told that before. I asked how much and she pointed to a paper sign on the wall that said $60 for 60 minute massage. (There was also a note on the sign saying Do Not Ask For Illegal Services as well...) So I handed her a $50 and a $20 bill and she took it and walked out. I'm laying on the massage table under this paper thin sheet and she opens the door again and says something about a receipt. I said ok and she leaves again. After a few more minutes she comes back and puts the receipt down and asks me if I want a medium massage or hard. I said hard is ok. (She never did ask me if I wanted Shiatsu or Aromatherapy massage as was listed on the wall). She starts giving me this very vigorous quick massage for about 3 minutes when the door bell goes off very loudly and she sighs and walks out of the room. She starts talking very loudly to a man in her language and it seems like they are shouting at each other, but I don't know if that's normal. She said something about 60 minutes and he left. She comes back in and starts massaging me again and 30 seconds later what I think is another man comes in and she sighs again upset and leaves and goes and talks to him. She basically tells him to come back in 30 minutes. She comes back into the room and crouches down by my face as I'm laid down and says "you ok with 30 min? I give you $20 back." I'm like no, I gave you $70 for a 60 minute massage. You said ok to 60 minutes and made me pay in advance. I'm not paying $50 for a 30 minute massage when your price is only $60 for a 60 minute. She keeps arguing with me trying to get me to agree for 30 minutes. I get up off the table and said you know what I'm just going to leave. (It was already not going well, didn't seem like i'd be getting a good massage and it was clear she would rather see male clients for 30 min appointments or whatever than me for my 60 minute i had already prepaid for). I said no I am not paying $50 for a 30 minute massage again, and she's like "baby it's $40 for 30 and you give $10 tip for me". I said the $10 tip you just took and i expected a 60 minute massage not a 30 minute". She keeps calling me baby and saying why no tip baby and it's so busy, so busy, owner not here. It's very weird. And it was completely dead when i walked in and she agreed to do 60 minutes for me. I said no I just want to leave and get a refund as I'm standing in front of her pretty much naked, i start to get dressed. She keeps begging me to stay for a 30 minute and i just said no and grabbed my jacket. She ran and got my $70 back and gives it to me and says "Nice lady you have nice day nice lady" and I left. So whatever is going on here, it sure seems like they would rather rush a girl out and keep their male clients happy. Somehow I don't believe that they "don't" offer illegal services here as mentioned on their paper price list.

Which I was like ok I've been here before so no big deal. When I was asked by the therapist what they could do for me I immediately told her I was pregnant. Well the vibe completely changed. Her reaction was to look down at my stomach and say " they never told me that!" She continued to explain that I couldn't get the massage I booked for but "I'll figure it out" I couldn't help but feel as if my pregnancy was some kind of inconvenience that needed to be "figured out". I would have expected a more professional response like "that's great! Congratulations! Let me adjust the massage to be more comfortable for you" Maybe I'm too sensitive but this really ruined my experience. I addressed my shoulder issues but received no extra attention to my problem area. When I mentioned I worked on my feet she quickly exclaimed "I can't massage your feet". I wasn't asking that, I was just giving her some background info. I first saw Marjena but she has since moved to the Hand and Stone College St location. I will be seeing her there next time!

Let me tell you why.. When I had my first P&S experience, I was dealing with really bad cystic acne. I've always had acne and hit a very rough patch (no pun intended) as an adult.. it was really bad for me. Most of my adult acne would be around my jaw and chin line, and would often leaving scarring and significant discoloration. I was living in Seattle and had started seeing a dermatologist who recommended a oral medication that would totally dry out my skin, along with bringing a host of other serious side effects. I didn't really feel good about taking such a heavy duty medication, but I was also at my wits end with my skin. That's when I found P&S. My very first P&S facial was a basic version plus an add on of the sea salt microdermabrasion. I was also introduced to the power of face oils. I cannot tell you how amazing my skin looked and felt after that first visit. Plus my facialist taught me so much.. like how drying out my skin actually intensified my acne by making my skin go into overdrive with oil production that ended up clogging my pores and hence contributing to cystic acne. Ugh!! P&S also introduced me to a number of amazing skin care products that have become part of my routine.. some of my favorites are the face oils for skin challenges with rosacea and acne, the black mud and propolis creams, the vitamin C and algae serums, a pumpkin exfoliating mask, and the rosehip oil. I LOVE all these!! And since that very first P&S visit all those years ago, I've been a faithful customer. Every time I'm home (I still live in Seattle and get home a few times a year to visit my folks), a visit to P&S is a must!! I typically go to the King Street spa - the ladies there have been awesome! But just a few months ago they opened a Mississauga location and I'm in heaven!! My folks live in Lorne Park (community in Mississauga) and this newest P&S location is literally 10-12 minutes away. No more fighting traffic to get downtown and then having to figure out parking and the traffic on the return trip - yaayyy!!! The ladies in the Mississauga location are wonderful!! Friendly, informative and very down to earth. Both of my two services since they opened have been amazing, and I've been really happy with my product purchases! Thank you P&S for offering this service to people who value a good customer service and experience, and hold a value for organic health care and wellness for our skin!! Please don't ever go away

I previously used to not care all that much about my hair, and would go to your local First Choice…read moreHaircutters because it didn't bother me much that an underpaid, under skilled, corporate in-and-out-let's-hire-someone-who-doesn't-really-know-what-hair-is sort of place. But then a friend of mine recommended Everybody's Hair; her and her mother had been going to this place for years, and was friendly with one of the stylists. I went with her one day. Everybody's Hair is situated right on the Danforth strip, minutes from the Woodbine subway station. The outside of the store front is nothing spectacular, but that's mainly due to the construction and not the salon itself. The window is usually decorated with something funky, colourful, seasonal, artistic. The lady who usually does my hair, Judy, is an artist in her spare time, and occasional her works will adorn the window. The interior is friendly, bright, colourful. The stylists that are usually there when I go (every five or six months) have a great rapport, love talking back and forth, and when someone comes in for a cut, colour or whatever the case is, they're made to feel like they were originally part of the conversation. I only go for a cut (sometimes wash), nothing fancy for me, and I always come out happy with the work that Judy does. None of the other stylists have done my hair, but my appointments are always with Judy, so I can't say anything good or bad. It's a little pricier than your average barber/salon (my regular cut is about $27), but you get what you pay for. I heartily recommend this place. For other drivers, there is a lot right behind the building which is cheap (I believe it was $1/30 minutes), there's street parking on the Danforth right out front of the building. There's a Sobey's grocery store nearby which has free parking (which doesn't require a purchase), and it's a maybe five minute walk to the salon from that location.

We tried to be loyal to a local neighbourhood establishment but it's been a year of crap cuts with rude stylists. Other things to mention: - their stylists do not participate in any further hair education so they are not up to date on styles or techniques - they do not have anyone that specializes in anything, the same person will wash, cut, perm, colour your hair - ummm no. - They'll see you 45 minutes past your scheduled time, but if you're 5 minutes late they actually have the nerve to chew you out - ummm hell no. It pains me to see people go there still.
