I don't typically write reviews and certainly keep it to myself if I don't have anything nice to…read moresay. However I'm pretty hurt and disappointed in what's happened here. Less than 24 hours ago I returned a 26' box truck to this location. I flew in to Louisiana to drive it for my folks, helping them move back to Arizona. I stopped at "the thing" a stop along I-10 once you've crossed the az/nm line into az. Very cool stop, well worth it. Anywho, I bought my very new special lady a custom piece of native made jewelry and some complimenting earrings. made it to my folks, unloaded the truck. Next day returned it to this location. Here I am, not 24 hours after, landing back in Louisiana to complete the next leg of the trip and realized I left the gift under the seat.. as soon as I had service I called the folks to inquire about it. The fella called me back shortly to tell me that. Nothing was found. i could tell the fella was sorry in his voice so truly nothing agains Armando, however we are only as strong as our weakest link and whomever cleaned the truck out was dishonest. Very disappointed. I know it lies on me for having left it in there. I was just hoping there was some honor left in society. I was wrong. Hope this will help folks make decisions on who they do business with.

I have a very different opinion based on service. The quality of the products was as advertised and expected. The major differences come down to how each office operates. There are other smaller differences between companies that are out of each office's control. This location can handle a lot of traffic and still get it right. Long lines, they work through them systematically and stay focused. They offer special services and give advice on how to handle different situations. Calm and professional. If they can't help meet a pressing need, they take the time to explain what they can do, offer additional options and information on how a customer might proceed. I have watched them handle rude, angry customers with unrealistic expectations. That's about the most you can expect from a professional and service point of view. I've been to this site 4 times and they've done it right every time.

I must say that this location is going to be my absolute super duper number one U-Haul from now on!…read more Sadly, I'd originally reserved a moving truck at a different location closer to me (4240 W Camelback Rd | Phoenix, AZ 85019) for the sake of convenience. However upon visiting that location (on 43rd Camelback) I was completely dismayed as their staff was beyond rude, unfriendly, unaccountable, and overall unprofessional. It left a very bad impression on me; thus I contacted Customer Service to modify my pickup to another store. Luckily, the CSR I spoke with was able to complete a reservation which fit my moving needs for a 20ft truck on 26th Street & Indian School! Preemptively, I arrived one day prior to my reservation just to check in and make sure everything was all set for my moving day. It was then that a member of staff named "Jimmy" kindly greeted me and assisted with any/all concerns I had for my pickup day!!! Jimmy was friendly, most patient, gave excellent recommendations for movingly supplies and assured everything was set to go smoothly for my rental! I arrived the next day and was helped by two additional gentlemen who sufficiently checked me in for my truck rental. They were so concise and professional when informing me of all safety apparatus entailed with my rental! And to top that the 20Ft truck they supplied for my reservation was immaculate--seriously the cleanest UHaul I've ever rented! I feel so bad though because I (regretfully) didn't get to note either of their names to ensure proper credit could be received for their all of their hard work! Thank you all so much again! This is my new favorite location in Phoenix!!!

I stopped in to pick up a mattress bag I had purchased online and I also rented a 10' truck to move…read moreapartments. When I picked up the mattress bag they were having internet issues, but as I had prepaid for the bag online I don't think I should have had to wait for over 20 minutes. I also booked the truck online for mobile pickup in hopes of having a smoother process but that was not the case. There's no point to mobile pickup when I still had to go inside to talk to the employees four times. They had my truck parked in the wrong spot - it was in the back instead of the front. And then it was also blocked by another truck. And then the license plate number didn't match the mobile inspection. It took much longer for me to pick up this truck then it should have. The drop off process was also very slow. Poor service and organization at this location.

This is the corporate headquarters of the U-Haul company. There are no rentals here! I have had a…read morenumber of U-Hauls throughout the years, moving stuff back and forth between home in Charlotte and home in Arkansas. 1000 mile drives in a box truck worked out okay. More recently, two rentals in the last month, both from the same location in Charlotte North Carolina. One, a pickup truck, I needed to move a trailer and it went okay. A long wait and then a long interaction with a clerk at the counter. The truck was perfectly fine and I returned the pickup two hours later without issue. The second, I got a cargo van and decided to use their "Truck Share" program. Completely touchless! Fill out the online reservation and then when I arrived, the app told me what to do. I found the truck, unlocked the locker with the key in it, filled out the online form (Picture of me, picture of drivers license front and back, credit card) and I was on my way. Four hours later, I returned it after the facility was closed. Again with the app, taking pictures of the odometer, fuel gauge, pictures of the exterior and interior of the truck, then drop the keys in the slot. I love this super automated interaction where I don't have to deal with a slow and possibly surly employee. They've done some good work to develop this and I'll use it again. My complaint is with the MOVING INSURANCE company, REPWEST, which is attached to U-Haul. I was…read moreurged by UHaul booking reps to purchase the insurance for my move when using their "pod" service. I also was encouraged to select one of their listed movers in both the city I was moving away from (DALLAS) and the one I was moving to (outside of Boston, MA). I followed all advice, and when pieces of my antique furniture arrived severely scratched and broken (two items)--and one item did *not* arrive at all, I filed for insurance coverage in order to repair those damages and replace the broken and missing items. The insurance offered via Uhaul/ RepWest IS WORTHLESS, and their business practices are inefficient and shady. Don't bother purchasing insurance w/ RepWest! Moreover, they wasted my valuable time and energy with their runaround. As they requested, I did the following: - submitted multiple photos of my damaged property as it was being removed, improperly wrapped (or not at all) from the UHaul Pods; - submitted a written description of what was damaged, broken, &lost - submitted a copy of my letter describing the harm to the movers themselves who caused the damage *AND* I submitted said movers' written FULL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT and APOLOGY of the damages and loss!! - I engaged w/ a RepWest insurance agent in several lengthy phonecalls to review FULL details - Agent told me that RepWest could "do nothing" unless and until they were able to ALSO speak w/ the MOVER company. So I contacted the company myself mutliple times and asked them to please confirm w/ RepWest. - I did all of those steps ONLY TO BE TOLD, belatedly, that the POLICY I purchased had a small-print CLAUSE stating it did *NOT* EVEN COVER damages that occurred in the move. - The policy clearly states that it would in fact cover damages & loss of "personal property (cargo) during the loading and unloading process. " YET, the agent (B. Nigro) --as well as the supervisor I appealed my case to (R. McCranner) -- denied my claim, citing a (hidden) "exclusion" that RepWest would NOT COVER "G. Against loss /damage caused by IMPROPER PACKING..." by said mover. These are clearly CONTRADICTORY statements and double-speak explicitly designed to allow the insurance company NOT to pay when damages in fact occur in the process of a UHaul move! My complaint covers three major problems with RepWest and its representatives: 1) this company and its agents wasted my TIME by not citing their hidden clause after my *INITIAL* submission of evidence! Instead two more weeks went by with more requests on their end for me to do more legwork supplying additional evidence that they proceeded to simply disregard; 2) this company and its agents wasted the MONEY I spent on purchasing the policy--it did not fulfill its *stated promise* as cited above to reimburse the customer for LOST, broken, and damaged items incurred in the UHaul moving process; 3) finally, this company makes false claims to provide "moving insurance" for UHaul moves BUT IN FACT IT DOES NOT COVER ANY damages or loss incurred during a UHaul move. I do not normally write reviews and have never written a negative review of a company. But my experience and dissatisfaction with REP WEST has led me to wish to save other people already undergoing the stress and financial strain of a move to SAVE THEIR MONEY and SAVE THEIR TIME; do not bother paying Uhaul/ RepWest for their offer of insurance "coverage" because in the end, there is in fact nothing whatsoever that this insurance company will pay if your property is damaged, lost, or broken during a loading or move w/ Uhaul.

Here's what happened....I was stranded on the side of the road, he would not rent a motorcycle trailer to my wife because the tail lights were broken on the trailers they had. So he made her wait until the morning. Morning came and he half-assed his job causing damages to our towing electrical connection. He didn't make sure the connection was tight and somewhere along the trip it gave way causing our connector to drag on the ground and break. My wife mentioned it to a staff member when we returned the trailer and he advised us to return and speak to the supervisor. So we returned and the kid told us "I didn't even connect the trailer at the time I took the photo"(I think that's a policy or something idk). Then told my wife "it's nothing that I did" she responded with "isn't it your job to make sure everything is connected before the trailer leaves the lot?" He said "well ya but the picture I took doesn't have it connected so your on your own..." What kind of business is this? In all of our years we've given uhaul our business we've never had such a bad experience with anyone.
