    TEETH IN THE FOOD

first of all, inside the store is very stinky and questionable in hygiene. they actually are giving people food poisoning due to lack of food safety. actual jaw and teeth of an unknown animal was found in the ready made food and the workers have zero explanation, yet are very argumentative. this is so disturbing do not go to this place, who knows what is happening behind in the back

This place smells absolutely horrible but it does have everything I need to make pho. They have Asian as well as a great Latino food mix. The produce can be hit or miss but a huge selection.

Barely any meats and veg inside these! And it cost $3.25 get these some place else.

We shop here often , but the Quality standards is VERY low, there's been times they try selling a case of OLD (close to a month) oyster, and try telling us that they were FRESH, they're sneaky, because they tear off the tag that has all the informations , date, time, location .. I can't believe this place have MONEY for a NEW sign and expansions, but can't even afford to replace their shopping carts .. Some have SHARP edges, and they expect you to put your kids on these 5/26/2016 So I was in the can fruits section and notice that a lot of them have a shelf life of 3 years !! Found some that was dated 2014, 2012...!!!! It just goes to show how old stuffs are at this store .. Had to put back ANY cans 2012 and older BACK!! But more are still on the shelves..ready to be sold to unsuspecting customers! 2020, had to stop by since we were in the area, I've notice they remove the second dates on most of their products like meats, so it only show "when" they were package. And learn that most of the old meats are grounded up with meats that are due and repackage. Also they are instructed to not show you certain food tags like those on their oysters, because the rage that comes with the oyster show when it was harvest, which can be almost a month old, if you ask to see the tag, they're instructed to tell you that they CAN'T show you the tag, can't sell it to you if you want to see or have the tag!! Very shady!

I was at Sunfood few mins ago. I bought some veggies that mention $1.29/lb. but it was showed up $1.49/lb at the register. I told cashier (no.6) that it came up with wrong price then she thrown my items away. I told her I want that item but I just let her know that the price doesn't match with price tag and she must fix it. Still... she gave me that price and told me that I don't need to show her the price, just show her manager. Ok.. I talked to someone that I thinks he might be in store management team. But still he didn't fix the price for me. I thinks this place need to be concern about customer service

Parents bought meat that were "due on the 8th" on the 11th at Sun Foods in BP, MN.

First time coming to Value foods and only second time trying African food. Overall great…read moreexperience. It's a grocery store with a butcher shop and then the deli counter in the back of the market. There was a line of about 6 people and after we lined up, more people waiting. The person ordering ahead of me was telling me that he was getting the whole fried tilapia and plantains, which was his favorite. Not gonna lie, sure did look good! We ordered the red okra stew, collard greens, and goat soup. They offer regular and large sizes and your choice of fufu or rice. Also ordered the fried plantains and a meat pie. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. He let us know which ones contained peanuts (my son has a peanut allergy) and which ones were considered spicy (goat stew) but since I love spicy foods, I didn't mind. My review of the food: -Red Okra with fish and fufu: delicious, greasy, and flavorful. Be careful because the fish was a big chunk and still had bones. -Collard greens with meat and fufu: I think meat was chicken. Our favorite dish of all of them. Flavorful, greasy, and delicious. -Goat Stew and rice: so full of meat (with bones). The Goat chunks remind me of pork belly (fatty, chewy, flavorful). This stew was spicy. Strong goat flavor. Had habanero peppers. -plantains: they gave us so much! Starchy and sweet. Yummy -meat pie: was just ok. Felt a little dry. Overall good experience. Food was so flavorful and full of spices. A little more greasier than how I normally like to eat but the grease also helped with eating the fufu. Total bill was about $60. Was enough food to feed about 5-6 people. No seating area. Everything is packaged for to-go orders.

Choked on plastic. Distgusting. Turned my stomach and felt sick the entire day. Never coming back…read moreto this place.

The store is always well stocked and very organized. Prices are as expected for Asian imports-- but definitely cheaper than the American groceries stores that stock similar items! I got the kimbap, sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew with seafood), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!
