This is my first time ever experiencing going to a specialist in regard to treating severe pain in…read moremy tooth. It wasn't just your typical cavity toothache. It was so disruptive that i was also trying to figure out if i had a sinus allergy or something. But luckily i went to my actual dentist and she was lovely enough to send me a referral to this super professional clean place tucked away just a bit past metrotown. The location of this is nearby all the new buisnesses by metrotown skytrain station and the korean hot dog place and so forth. Very secure clean place, building looks like a luxurious high rise condo from outside and you have to get buzzed in from the directory. Which is an added bonus you don't have to worry about the unexpected disrupting your dental surgery. Dr Siu was my endodontist referred by my dentist and he was great. So detailed and precise. Gentle and great communicator. Empathetic and professional, always handling all movements with care and makes sure patient is as comfortable as can be. I'm not in the dental field but after my visit and looking at my charts and being informed with the information i actually suddenly feel interested in the dental field all together. There is street parking outside and don't worry if you think you'll exceed 2 hrs because the receptionist will get your information and help feed the meter! They don't take dental insurance directly here. It is wheelchair accessible. Washroom even has a button to press for it to open and close. The place is spotless shiny and clean. They even use luxurious name brand hand sanitizer! If you need a root canal, i highly recommend you get referred to this place!! Hands down exceptional quality service!!

I especially appreciated the attentiveness of Dr. Pirbhai who made the process as safe, comfortable, and caring as I have ever felt at the dentist. Would definitely recommend.

I had a very positive first experience with this office…read more I am not a native Canadian, so the dental insurance system was not familiar to me. I stopped by on a late afternoon to ask about the process, and the administrative assistant was very helpful and patient in explaining everything to me. I really appreciate the fact that this office is open evenings on certain weekdays, so that I don't have to take time off of work. Yes, one might need to book 6 weeks in advance for one of their highly-coveted evening appointment slots, but I had no problem with that. When I finally went for my appointment, the hygienist was very polite. The patient rooms have TV to stay entertained. Each step of the appointment moved very efficiently (visual inspection, xrays, pick cleaning, polishing, flossing, fluoride (the last of which is not part of standard procedure in the 'States, in my experience)). The dentist was very thorough, and not only had me take x-rays twice because one of them was not clear, but also told me he wanted to consult a more experienced dentist in the office later in the week because there was a potential problem spot (everything ended up being ok). I never felt like I was being upsold on anything. Everything was quite thorough. They even gave me lab safety googles so that accidental gushes of liquid didn't spray me on my face while I was laying down -- so courteous. The one half-joking criticism I might have would be that they were almost too concerned for my comfort, such that I feel like they were being TOO gentle during my polishing and flossing! Also, maybe it's because I'm from a place where dental visits are relatively bare-bones, but I was shocked to have received not just a normal tooth brush but and electronic tooth brush in my post-visit goodie bag. I look forward to each subsequent visit being just as pleasant as my first.

Never assume anything is what I learned from the mishap…read more I am very impressed with the covide 19 protocol and the friendliness / patience of the front reception. And the detail care/instruction and attention from the dental staff are superb. I am also happy with Caroline's professionalism. The dentist had a mishap and how he and Caroline dealt with that subsequently - were professional and wonderful. Dentist Sasan assured me that great care would be given. And on my last appointment (implant surgery), as before, I was provided information about the implant procedure and the post actions after the surgery. In addition, Dentist Sasan provided me three prescriptions just in case if any discomforts are experienced. I am so glad of this, as pain came much later. Thank god I got the prescriptions filled immediately after the surgery. At my previous dental place, no prescriptions were given and I had to wait till the next day to get anything. I even had to make an appointment to get some relief. :-/ I especially like the implant pre-estimate and its steps (and its costs) to put an implant in place.. Getting the pre-estimate that includes the insurance coverage from my previous dentist was like pulling one's teeth without anesthesia. They had to wait for few weeks before insurance coverage could be given. At Arta Dental, I get the estimate right away. I definitely don't like surprises. Also, I am not at the dentist to be entertained. Vancouver Cosmetics seems to think telling jokes every forty seconds is a normal thing. It's one thing to have a normal friendly conversation, but to do it during the procedure? After having few appointments with Dentist Sasan indicate to me - that great care and attention are provided (except for the mishap). The doing, the checking, and the verifying are so important and that is what Dentist Sasan had done. Thank goodness for his checking; otherwise, the mishap would have gone wrongly. In addition, at first, I thought I was being avoided, because no cleaning appointments were scheduled for me, so I assumed the worst. Caroline assured me that wasn't the case. Some just came for one thing and nothing else. I FEEL the dental service I ahd received was upgraded to several levels. I do feel like I had gone into a country club where the dental staff considers that the utmost importance is to give great dental care. The place is well ventilated and carefully decorated - seemingly - and I appreciate that quite a bit. The environment definitely helps to relax me as a patient and relieves any anxiety. Thank you so much, Arta Dental. t

Very demeaning and unpleasant experience at this clinic. The…read morereceptionist (NOT THE ONE IN THE PICTURES - middle aged, Caucasian, brown blonde hair) is disrespectful and demeaning to clients. When I had booked my and my husbands first appointments I asked if they would provide an ESTIMATE of the out of pocket cost (after insurance coverage) and she said yes. On the day of the appointment she ridiculed me in front of her colleague (the younger receptionist you see in the photo's) and another client waiting in the waiting room. Saying "I can't tell you what you will pay, don't you know anything about your own insurance?" I explained she told me over the phone that they could provide an estimate - she knew it was her. The hygienist - Angie/Anita (or something close to that) was absolutely wonderful. She calmed my nerves and listened to my concerns and was very gentle during the cleaning. I found Dr. Norman Wong to be the opposite. He didn't listen to my concerns and was only interested in covering up his poor chair-side manner with stupid jokes. I asked him what we could do about the discoloration on the front right tooth (I had a filling in that tooth many years ago and it was becoming dark). He said all he could do was polish the tooth but that was all. I thought that was a bit strange, but since he said that was my only option I agreed to do it.I also had a chip on the front left tooth and was told the only thing we could do was to fill the bottom in and I agreed to that, made an appointment to get both done. He didn't go into much detail about either option. All he did was literally buff the surface of the tooth that was turning brown - the tooth was now shiny, but still discolored. I was pretty mad at myself for allowing this guy to talk me into such a stupid "solution" and paying for that! The filling chipped/ broke off within 10 days. 6 months or so later I had the next cleaning, I had the same hygienist. She asked me about the issues we'd discussed the first time and I told her that I was not happy about the options and service provided by Dr. Wong. She told me that he could re-do the filling so the dark filling would be removed and re-filled, resulting in a white (tooth like) appearance again. I wasn't happy that Dr. Wong did not give me this option the first time. When Dr. Wong came in to follow up as they always do, I asked what we could do about the discoloration and mentioned that the previous time he stated that polishing was the only thing to do. He seemed very annoyed at my asking and being unhappy with the polishing. He said well the only thing that can be done is to re-do the filling - with a very short, irritated attitude. To which I stated well then let's do it - in kind. For the rest of the consultation he spoke to the hygienist, didn't ask if I have any questions (which I did have) and just walked out without even greeting me... Angie/Anita walked me out and handed a sticky note to the male female receptionist, who was busy and didn't notice. I went to the male receptionist who printed our invoices and settled the bill. I told him I have to make an appointment and the other receptionist had the sticky note, but I would need to check my schedule and get back to them. He was professional and kind. I told my husband what happened and he insisted we go back and see if the Dr. could discuss other options (even if we had to wait for a while) like braces, to straighten my teeth because we think problem is that the discolored tooth was skew and positioned in such a way that made discoloration inevitable even if we re-filled the tooth. When we got there I asked the receptionist if she could refer us to an orthodontist, she was alone in front now. She said Dr. Wong is an orthodontist and he would be happy to discuss all my options at my next visit. She implied that I was rude to have left without booking the appointment as discussed with the Dr. I told her I had spoken to her colleague and that I needed to get back to them. We asked to see the Dr. as it would impact the appointment, we'd gladly wait. She said I should've asked all my questions during my appointment, I would need to book another appointment. I told her the Dr. walked out without giving me the opportunity to ask further questions. She said that I had clearly agreed upon a treatment so if I wanted to speak to him I could make an appointment for another day. My husband said we just wanted to make sure what all the options were and explained why we thought there could be more options. I showed her the tooth in question and she started arguing that I had discussed the wrong tooth with the Dr. as the sticky note was for a different tooth and raised her voice at me. I calmly told her there can't be a re-filling on a tooth that doesn't have a filling. Alas, we were were turned away and left without seeing the Dr. I've cancelled my next cleaning - still hurt and disappointed.
