I missed it the first time driving by but found it when I came back the other direction. The food and service here are so good. I was warmly greeted when I entered and they were very helpful as I ordered. There is an everyday menu with daily specials. I opted for the chicken pastry which is similar to chicken and dumplings but has noodles instead. Then I got yams and mac n cheese as sides. I opted for my food to go as I didn't see the inside dining area till after I had ordered. But my food stayed hot during my drive home. The portion was much bigger than I expected. The chicken pastry tasted delicious. I had never had that before but will again. The mac n cheese was creamy goodness and the yams were nice and sweet. They sell desserts at the counter too and I got a banana pudding. I knew it'd be good but it was better than I expected. I live an hour away from Farmville but I will make a special trip to eat at Gorham's cafe again for their homemade goodness.

We got the pulled pork and chopped brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese, baked beans and a bottle of sauce (included). We felt the value for amount of food was great, and I loved that they included smaller containers of most, if not all, of their sauces so we could try them! The corn bread was great, a couple pieces were pretty dark but still warm and fresh. The baked beans, for me, was a highlight! They were so good, whatever sauce they're cooked in was SO good, I ended up dipping my pulled pork/ brisket into that instead of the sauces!! So good!!! Our kids liked the Mac n cheese, we thought it was pretty good too! Loved that the pulled pork came with no sauce, made it super easy to portion it out for my husband and keep it fresh. Thee brisket came sauced, but the flavor was really good so we were fine with that! Overall, we'd definitely do this once in a while. It was about $90 total for the family meal, which is a little steep for a regular family meal. But flavor was great, everything was fresh, and we very much enjoyed it and will have leftovers for days!!

The seasonal treat is strawberry shortcake so I ordered that and there was so much balance in their flavor. I'm partial to strawberry shortcake because it was what I often shared with my late Grandpa. I was so impressed with how good this was and it definitely added nostalgia to the experience. The service here was phenomenal and the place has so much memorabilia honoring service members. Very open and welcoming space. Lots to take in, but not overwhelming. I'm definitely glad we stopped in. 10/10 recommend if you're in the area.
