1/6 Dr Carnedas…read moreseems like a good doctor but his assistant is incompetent . This particular medical assistant can't follow simple request by providing a doctors authorization needed. I had to call multiple times and repeat myself over and over that I did not need a DOT certification, just an authorization because of a prescription from Dr Cardenas. Even proof I have been seen by the doctor and monitored during the time of this medication would have been suffice. I never got it. I requested to speak directly to Dr Cardenas and they denied my request. Tried to make an appointment to do so and they told me it would be at least 2 months until I can see him. It's was either Kim or Alison I believe that called back at 5:06pm on 1/6 to make a threat to drop me as a patient because I was rude by saying I would come to the office if I do not get a call back. Update 1/15: received letter in the mail discharging me as a patient, supposedly signed by Dr Cardenas by an electronic signature . Dr Cardenas never attempted to make contact with me to discuss my side of things. I doubt he even knows about this. The incredibly rude and incompetent staffer is the cause of this and this is an entirely ego driven decision by her. They refused contact with the doctor and would not get me a letter of authorization but they had no problem sending me this letter. Happy to go somewhere else.

My friend sustained second-degree burns a few weeks ago after a Starbucks tea lid popped off as he picked up the drink while getting out of the car, and this urgent care happened to be the closest option available. During the initial visit, the experience was fine. We saw a male doctor whose name I unfortunately do not remember, but the interaction was normal, professional, and friendly. We later had two follow-up appointments. The first follow-up also went smoothly with a blonde female doctor wearing glasses who was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, the second follow-up experience was completely different. A blonde woman with glasses who appeared to oversee the front desk was speaking loudly across the room while requesting patients' personal information. At one point, she had two people at the desk simultaneously asking both individuals for personal information. My friend became very uncomfortable and later said "the lady gave him a headache" because personal questions were repeatedly being called out loudly, and people often seemed confused about whether she was speaking to them, having to repeatedly ask, "Are you talking to me?" In a medical setting where privacy should be expected, this felt highly unprofessional. Additionally, a heavier woman repeatedly came to the front desk to ask the receptionist if she was okay, but only when I, or another Black woman nearby, happened to stand near the front desk for any reason. I never spoke to her directly and never even interacted with her personally, which made the repeated behavior feel uncomfortable and unusual. During this follow-up, another doctor (an older blonde woman with glasses) entered the room with an energy that immediately felt aggressive. She seemed dismissive of my presence as a support person and spoke loudly in my friends face while examining his skin. We have photographs of the burns, and the skin was still visibly sensitive and partially raw in areas. Despite this, she stated that it looked "completely healed," even though the area remained sensitive enough that even wearing a shirt over it caused discomfort. We also received guidance from a family friend with experience working in a burn unit who advised continuing to keep the area covered and lightly bandaged until the skin had healed further. Hearing that the injury was "completely healed" despite what we were still seeing and experiencing created confusion and concern. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was the atmosphere surrounding us. The doctor, nurses, and receptionist were laughing loudly and made inappropriate comments implying that I was acting like my friend's mother, when in reality I was simply there because he experiences anxiety in situations like these and wanted support. It felt uncomfortable having our friendship perverted through assumptions and sexual jokes. This occurred after I simply asked for a receipt for our payment, which seems like a completely ordinary request. I remained quiet and respectful throughout the visit, yet I felt subjected to inappropriate comments and uncomfortable looks. As someone who has dealt with inappropriate jokes and assumptions in the past, the experience was personally upsetting and brought back trauma. What concerned me most was not simply the humor itself, but what felt like a lack of judgment and emotional maturity in a setting where patients are vulnerable and trusting healthcare professionals with their care. In healthcare, professionalism, awareness, and sound judgment are essential because patients should never leave feeling ridiculed, sexually assaulted verbally and emotionally uncomfortable. Overall, this experience was disturbing and disappointing. Healthcare environments should prioritize professionalism, patient privacy, respect, and making patients feel safe and heard. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Please use discretion if you already struggle with anxiety, past sexual trauma, or place a high value on privacy, professionalism, and feeling respected while receiving care. God bless.

My treatment options were explained to me, and they let my husband stay with me for most of the visit. Bathrooms were clean, and the staff was very kind and reassuring. I hope you never have to cone here, but if you do, you will be in good hands.

The ER ran tests and said it was simple case of Cellulitis and sent me home with the same antibiotics that my doctor said was not strong enough. Returned to ER the next day because rash had spread and fever was still 104. Was given IV antibiotics in ER and was admitted to hospital. The put me in an exam room at midnight, put blood pressure sleeve on, oxygen meter on, didn't plug either of them in, and left me there for 8 hrs. Called nurse multiple times, they said someone would come but no one ever did. My rash turned into blisters the size of golf balls and had spread from my knee to me ankle. Next morning was told that they didn't realize I was still there. Was not in there system. Finally got me to second floor and the hospital doctor continued to give me the same antibiotics from Sunday till Tuesday. My wife finally pleaded with them to bring in infectious disease DR who after seeing my leg asked the nurse why he wasn't told about me on Sunday. She didn't have an answer. The DR told me, my wife, brother, and sister in law, that they were now 2 days behind in treatment and he hoped he could save my leg. After 4 days of new antibiotic cocktails that only he could give me, the infection stopped spreading. They decided to now treat my leg as a burn victim because of the damage from waiting two days. My leg drained and the pain from blisters and swelling was still there till the following Monday. The doctor said I needed to be discharged and to keep treating my leg like a burn victim. Apply silvadene and wrap daily. My wife didn't feel comfortable and said we would not leave till wound care people came in. When they did they told the nurses that my leg could not be treated like a burn victim. They changed my entire discharge instructions. An hour before i left I broke out in another rash on my back and arms and when the nurse told the DR via text he told her to give me Benedryl and send me home. I am left with a disfigured leg that swells everyday and have been told by Infectious DR that it will never be normal again. Everybody told me I should sue them but I didn't want to have to go though the process so I decided to go through patient safety department and let them know what had happened. After two internal investigations, I was told that the hospitals "standard of care was met" and there was "no delay" in treatment. So leaving you in a room for 8 hours while you get worse and infections spreads is Hendersonville Hospitals "Standard of Care" When the Dr tells you and your family they are 2 days behind on treatment and you might lose your leg, that is not considered a "delay" according to their "Standard of Care". When they are prepared to send you home with the wrong discharge instructions, that is Hendersonville Hospitals "Standard of Care". They sent me two letters stating that this was their "Standard of Care". To me it means their "Standard of Care" is what they can get away with by saying we are sorry your dissatisfied with your hospital stay but we did enough to get your insurance money and out of pocket money. After all, someone has to pay for the new addition being built. It was my first time being admitted to a hospital. To think I always thought you went to a hospital to get well. I guess it comes down to their meaning of "Standard of Care". *I will say this, the nurses on the 2nd floor were Awesome. Do not have one bad thing to say about them. My daughter and I even carried a care basket full of stuff for them after I was admitted to show them my appreciation. They were just doing what they were told. Can't say much for the rest of them. Now I am having to pay over $20,000 for their "standard of care" that left me with permanent damage. Do you think they care? I even sent something to the CEO. No response. No accountability. They DO NOT CARE.
