Embarrassingly poor service and concerning behavior that, from my perspective, felt discriminatory in nature. My friend sustained second-degree burns a few weeks ago after a Starbucks tea lid popped off as he picked up the drink while getting out of the car, and this urgent care happened to be the closest option available. During the initial visit, the experience was fine. We saw a male doctor whose name I unfortunately do not remember, but the interaction was normal, professional, and friendly. We later had two follow-up appointments. The first follow-up also went smoothly with a blonde female doctor wearing glasses who was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, the second follow-up experience was completely different. A blonde woman with glasses who appeared to oversee the front desk was speaking loudly across the room while requesting patients' personal information. At one point, she had two people at the desk simultaneously asking both individuals for personal information. My friend became very uncomfortable and later said "the lady gave him a headache" because personal questions were repeatedly being called out loudly, and people often seemed confused about whether she was speaking to them, having to repeatedly ask, "Are you talking to me?" In a medical setting where privacy should be expected, this felt highly unprofessional. Additionally, a heavier woman repeatedly came to the front desk to ask the receptionist if she was okay, but only when I, or another Black woman nearby, happened to stand near the front desk for any reason. I never spoke to her directly and never even interacted with her personally, which made the repeated behavior feel uncomfortable and unusual. During this follow-up, another doctor (an older blonde woman with glasses) entered the room with an energy that immediately felt aggressive. She seemed dismissive of my presence as a support person and spoke loudly in my friends face while examining his skin. We have photographs of the burns, and the skin was still visibly sensitive and partially raw in areas. Despite this, she stated that it looked "completely healed," even though the area remained sensitive enough that even wearing a shirt over it caused discomfort. We also received guidance from a family friend with experience working in a burn unit who advised continuing to keep the area covered and lightly bandaged until the skin had healed further. Hearing that the injury was "completely healed" despite what we were still seeing and experiencing created confusion and concern. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was the atmosphere surrounding us. The doctor, nurses, and receptionist were laughing loudly and made inappropriate comments implying that I was acting like my friend's mother, when in reality I was simply there because he experiences anxiety in situations like these and wanted support. It felt uncomfortable having our friendship perverted through assumptions and sexual jokes. This occurred after I simply asked for a receipt for our payment, which seems like a completely ordinary request. I remained quiet and respectful throughout the visit, yet I felt subjected to inappropriate comments and uncomfortable looks. As someone who has dealt with inappropriate jokes and assumptions in the past, the experience was personally upsetting and brought back trauma. What concerned me most was not simply the humor itself, but what felt like a lack of judgment and emotional maturity in a setting where patients are vulnerable and trusting healthcare professionals with their care. In healthcare, professionalism, awareness, and sound judgment are essential because patients should never leave feeling ridiculed, sexually assaulted verbally and emotionally uncomfortable. Overall, this experience was disturbing and disappointing. Healthcare environments should prioritize professionalism, patient privacy, respect, and making patients feel safe and heard. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Please use discretion if you already struggle with anxiety, past sexual trauma, or place a high value on privacy, professionalism, and feeling respected while receiving care. God bless. read more

Extremely poor quality of care. The doctor looked at our 2 yr old who had 103.5 fever and a rash all over his legs. We gave him children's Motrin and took him to this clinic. Once the medication kicked in he definitely felt better. The doc looked in his ears and said "he's fine." We asked about the fever and rash. She said "it could be due to all kinds of things". EXACTLY why we went to see a physician. Over $200 and hours wasted for extremely poor "care". Will never come back. read more

Arrived when they opened and waited for over an hour to be seen. No provider was even onsite and they had no ETA as to when the provider would arrive. They notified the patients that they were looking for a provider to come in and hadn't been able to locate one. read more

I overheard the provider today tell the nurse, "if I'm not out of there in 10 minutes. come save me." He walks in all smiles, introduces himself, and I made sure to tell him that I set my timer for 10 minutes so that he didn't have to be saved by his nurse... I have been in health care for 14 years plus the 2 years of clinical rotations for my Bachelor's of science in Radiation. I've been a Clinical instructor for rotating radiology students, X-Ray point of contact at Concentra, Managed an Ascension Urgent care in Hermitage, and now a Traveler. Shame on you Mr. high and mighty... You know better, but sadly enough, working in the field, it didn't surprise me. What did surprise me is being told that I was getting a referral to a Psychiatrist, and having to ask for blood work when my entire body was swollen including my face... Though you weren't saying it was,"all in my head." I wish I could include a picture to show how much the swelling actually wasn't, "all in my head" or face, or legs... I didn't want to be there, mortified to be out in public, and this visit confirmed why I hate our healthcare system... My left eye was almost closed completely shut after getting home. So Thank you for making my "worst day type of days" that much better. Maybe you should take your handsy self to another profession, and get out of healthcare, because it doesn't seem like you are there for the right reasons.... but there I go again... I'm a teenage girl and I came to this Urgent Care for a doctors note and a flu test. No one was even there and the girl up front treated me like I was an inconvenience. I was confused about my deductible situation as I was there alone and had never done this before and she gave me dirty looks the whole time I was asking questions. a guy walked in behind me and she was completely different to him- chipper and enthusiastic then he left and it was literally empty. I asked how much a note and flu test would be without insurance and she responded with 180, and "we don't just give out the notes for free." well obviously I'm over talking about paying you 180 dollars for a doctors note. overall won't be back. the girls name was Ashley I think, she had black curly hair and big protruding eyes. read more

Usually have good care with Darwin and Stephanie, but went on February 10th with my son and saw Jill and it was AWFUL. My son had the flu and was lethargic and dehydrated. His vitals were fine and she walked in and said "The flu takes 7 days to get through your system, he's just going to have to wait it out." He was literally lying on the table and she kept telling him to sit up but he literally couldn't. She asked if I wanted to retest him for flu which I said "no" but otherwise she did not do any other diagnostics. She looked in his ear and asked if he wore airpods over and over - he's 10 and doesn't and that wasn't my pressing issue. He was c/o belly pain, she did no UA. She told me I could take him to my office for fluids (I am a PA but don't have an office and she had no clue) but otherwise I just needed to wait it out. She did call in zofran for some odd reason - he had no nausea/vomiting or had he. I left after paying $175 for essentially no help and a rude attitude. Thankfully I took my son to the ER where he was diagnosed with acute renal failure and admitted. Sometimes you need to treat the patient and not the vitals. Also, her attitude was pretty horrible as I walked in, I knew better than to even stay due to her griping at the front desk while we sat in the waiting room. read more

Charged my wife $200 for her appointment when she's fully insured and in network. My kids have strep and flu, which would lead anyone with a brain to test for that. However, they did not test for that. They tested for Covid. They're clearly making money somehow for testing for Covid. They are literally no help at all and a waste of time and money. The medical care we received five months ago was very good by the physician assistant there . HOWEVER, five months later they still have not correctly billed our insurances They continue to send monthly bills letters showing NO insurance And requesting payment . They clearly made copies of both our insurances the date of the urgent care visit. They were also notified by Blue Cross 3 months ago that they've billed incorrectly and to resubmit as the secondary insurance. they still have not done !! Our Bill still shows no insurance and now they're saying" bills are just sent out automatically don't worry Re your credit rating." Such a sloppy careless attitude is not appreciated . Came in at 2pm for a walk-in. Was told the wait was one hour. When I said that was okay they said the wait was two hours. I checked in online and headed home to wait my turn. When I got the text to come in at 4:40 I showed up by 5. For my 3pm appointment. It's 6pm now, I still haven't been seen. The receptionists, both of them, were unprofessional, using full names and discussing confidential information about the nature of the visit in front of the other patients. They also asked if everyone coming in was there for a drug screen, stating that they could only do 10 per day. (No reason why). I understand short staffing, and having only one provider thus extending wait times. But this behavior is unethical, a violation of HIPAA and patient rights as a whole. The incompetency was ridiculous. I will be mentioning this to the provider if/when I get called back. (Honestly it tracks for HCA facilities). read more

Receptionist committed several HIPAA violations during the registration process. She used my full name to call me back to the registration desk. She asked me to repeat aloud several details that I had clearly written on the forms, thus letting other patients in the waiting area know the reason for my visit. These behaviors were not limited to me but to other patients who were present. Such details are traditionally gathered and/or repeated in a CONFIDENTIAL setting by a triage nurse, out of earshot of every other patient. $228. Went in with a boxers fracture. Had one before, we both knew what it was, doc said we needed xrays to be sure. Got the xray and a temporary splint. The nurse tried putting the splint on backwards and only after I got home did I notice that I was given a left hand splint for a right hand fracture. They referred me to a local ortho Dr to complete the casting since they do not have the materials on site, figured that was fine and part of the standard process, until I tried following up with the orthopedic care facility, who basically has to redo all the imagining and is literally going to cost me the same amount of money. I had to follow-up for a second visit within 48 hours and they said that it would be $50 and so i paid and then they billed it as a brand new visit and wanted me to pay another $150. Usually consistent care with good providers, but at my latest visit Patricia Adamski prescribed a medication that has a known moderate drug interaction with another one of my medications, along with it not being good for those with certain autoimmune conditions. I had a severe reaction to the medication and was very close to being taken to the ER. If she cared to look at my chart instead of rushing the visit, I would not have had to go through horrible side effects. read more

Demanding medication that they've read about on Google, I have nothing against Google it's very helpful. I feel that everyone's needs are different, and not all medication has the same effect on people. Being denied pain medication, pretains for a persons own benefit, it doesn't mean that the doctor doesn't know their job. They sent me a bill with completely different payment information on it than what I was charged. The physician I saw only gave me a steroid pack and said "you just have a cold" when I went to my primary care doctor five days later she told me I had a severe ear infection and I had to take two rounds of antibiotics. I went in for wheezing and coughing. For starters I don't feel the Dr and I connected. He had me to stick out my tongue so he could look at my throat.then say aaah! And commented I know you can do it. Then he started showing me pics of his artwork on his phone and telling me about dance lessons. Then finally he listened to my lungs and said I needed an xray. I did X-ray and waited for ever! I finally opened the door to ask how long it would be. The MA looked at me like I had a tail. Her remark was it takes awhile. Ok I sat back down in the room and waited more time! Finally I opened the door and said I would wait in the waiting room.......still waited. I finally asked the front office young girl do the send X-rays out to be read or what, because I have been waiting for a while! Her response was did you get it today? I said duh! Yes. She is the pho took my paper work and copay! She came back and said it's waiting for someone to pick it up to be read!! She said I can call you. We arrived and got back fairly quickly since we completed online registration; however, the physician for $175.00 did not ask my child where they had a bug bite, told me cellulitis could not blister - it would be redness - and then touched her wound without asking first or letting her know he needed to examine (not good bedside manner) without gloves on - then proceeded to tell us it was an 'ant' bite. Which it was not - did not give us medicine and told us to stop using the antibiotic cream we were using that we had been advised by pediatrician to use in past since our child is prone to staph/cellulitis infections. We went next day to our physician office to find out it was indeed infected and to use the prescription antibiotic ointment they told us to discontinue and ended up needing an oral antibiotic as it had progressed. If the physician had asked how long our child had the symptoms, where she got the bite, and examined without such arrogance perhaps a correct diagnosis could have been made. We paid $175.00 for absolutely no reason and left with an inaccurate diagnosis. It was very disheartening and we had to go to the dr - our pediatrician the very following morning because symptoms had persisted. read more

The doctor did not listen to a word that came out of my mouth she was just focused on swabbing me for covid and moving to the next number in line. When i asked her about my 330 blood sugar and ketones she looked shocked and told me to pee in a cup (I haven't been able to keep even a drop of water or ice chip down which I told her) then it was basically too bad nothing we can do. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, ever. This was my 2nd attempt and an even worse experience than the first. I came in to complete 1 medical test. They charged me over $100 co-pay. I now just paid another $40 after insurance (I have Cigna 80-broad). They sent my exam off to another location where I paid an additional $24. Not only was the cost outrageous, but the staff was unwelcoming and honestly rude. Moreover, for the price gauge of a cost I paid, the Dr. did NOTHING besides complete the test (no exam, etc). I was the only person in the whole building at the time, yet they acted like I was an inconvenience. Then, they would not provide me medication for confirmed symptoms until test results came back (I walked out thinking that was normal but then told otherwise by 2 other healthcare professionals). It was a Thursday, and I was told not to expect results until the following week. Upon learning that was unnecessary, I ended up going to the Kroger Little Clinic the next day, being charged $13 TOTAL, treated with kindness and respect and given medication to treat my symptoms. I will never step foot in this facility again and neither should you. read more

I was extremely unsatisfied with the service from Dr Thomas Struble at CareNow in Hendersonville. I brought in my young son who had fever and audible wheezing. The doctor was very dismissive and stated that the lungs were clear, when I could clearly hear wheezing without the use of a stethoscope. He looked inside my son's ears with an otoscope and stated ears were clear. He sent us home without a diagnosis or explanation of why my son had fever despite being clearly very sick. I felt like we were being rushed out of the room and he just wanted to collect his easy pay for the visit. My son did not improve, we went to a different urgent care center later that day. The new doctor said he had a raging ear infection after looking in his ears and could hear wheezing. He was prescribed antibiotics. Dr Thomas Struble is very cold, uncaring, and dangerous in his assessment of patients. It's a joke that he works at an urgent care center in which assessments need to be accurate and very thorough. I called to speak with management about my experience and they never returned my calls. I'll never return to this awful place. read more

Save your precious time and energy- do not go here. I brought my 2 year old daughter to be checked. The receptionists and nurses were great- but my daughter was left traumatized by jerk of a doctor that did her appointment. He physically held her down to check her throat when she didn't want him to stick the depressor in her mouth. He then diagnosed her with an ear infection and didn't recommend even testing her for anything. He says that they will write a prescription for an antibiotic and I quote - "she will get better soon and it will make me look better. Let's be honest- that's all that really matters". I insisted they swab her for the flu (because I have a 5 month old at home and don't want to spread germs). He huffed and looked at me like I was being ridiculous, but did what I asked. 10 minutes later he comes in and says "well I'm glad we did that- she is positive for the flu". Just don't do it. Excellent experience with the CareNow staff! I checked in and completed registration online. I received a text notification about coming in for a same day appointment. Upon arrival the receptionist was very friendly and I only waited about 10 minutes to be seen. The doctor was really kind and listened to my concerns attentively. I was appropriately diagnosed and prescribed the needed medication. We had to take our four year old in for a cut on her knee that kept reopening. The check in was quick and easy and both the nurse and doctor made our daughter feel at ease with cleaning her wound. The nurse walked her through the process and the doctor was very gentle and acknowledged her fear but didn't let that interfere with taping and gluing the cut. Do not go to Carenow Urgent Care on Indian Lake Blvd in Hendersonville! Their billing is a ripoff! Even with insurance, we ended up paying $165 for treatment for a cold. Go across the street to American Family Practice Urgent Care where the same visit only cost us $80 with insurance. It's the manner in which Carenow bills a "Global Fee Urgent Care" visit while AMF bills it as a "Doctor's Visit." Plus, we were attended by an MD at AMF and a Nurse Practitioner at Carenow. When we called the Carenow billing line, we got a lady on the phone that had no clue and could give us now explanation. We will never return there and will spread the word. read more
