We purchased an RV at Summit RV over the summer. The experience there has been fantastic from start to finish. This is a privately-owned dealership, and you can tell by the service you receive. They have a great selection, and the sales associates are very nice and knowledgeable. (Thank you, Barry!) There were no hidden fees, so what they told us we would pay is what we paid. (They do offer some add-on warranties, but these are all clearly explained, and there is no pressure to add them.) When we picked up the RV, the walkthrough was informative, and any small issues that were pointed out were all very quickly addressed. They continue to check in to make sure we are enjoying our camper, which I greatly appreciate, and we're about to take it in for a few warranty punch-list items. We drove 3 hours to purchase the RV, and I can tell you the people, the deal, and the service were all amazing. I can't recommend them enough! We live in NKY and in Aug of 2020 were looking for a specific floorplan when trading in our travel trailer for a 5th wheel. Summit had this floorplan so we made the trip south and purchased our camper. Aside from the 2.5hr drive (one-way) it was a very pleasant experience overall and we left with the confidence our service needs would be met, if ever needed. Many businesses have a motto of "service after the sale", but fast-forward a few years later, when you actually need service, it was obvious that Summit did not practice this. Like others have expressed, a 2-3 week wait (just to get it looked at) is not ideal, but you have to deal with it. When the call came that they had looked at it, I was shocked to hear we would need a complete overhaul of the main slide hardware at a cost of $3200. I did not have Summit do the work, but instead got a second opinion from a local NKY RV dealer. I did not share my Summit experience with them, but asked they look at the slide and let me know what it would take to fix. Could it really be +$3,000?After only 6 days and $400 (1/8th of Summit's cost), we have our camper back and everything works great. I won't make assumptions about why one was so much cheaper, but everyone has automotive repair stories where they are charged for more than what was actually needed. Those experiences leave bad impressions on those who may have been taken advantage of. I'm glad I left Summit that day and found a reputable service close to home. I just wish I would have done the same thing 3yrs ago. Buyers beware! read more

Our experience with Summit RV started out rocky, but it got so much better. We had to take our camper in for some fixes and they said they couldn't even look at it for at least two-three weeks. They couldn't give us a timeframe or estimate, but luckily we had a place to stay. We tried to be patient, but it seemed like no progress was made that first month and there were no updates. But then Renee was put in charge of the status of our RV. She was awesome! She answered all of our questions and gave us much better time and cost estimates. She was very responsive and proactive. I am so thankful we were reassigned to her. She understood that we were coming from far away and she kept in touch to let us know how things were going. She also efficiently handled all the warranty stuff. I hope none of you have any repairs needing to be done, but if you do, try to get Renee if you can. She's the best! read more

I decided on a whim that I wanted an RV and had heard good things. Well I walked in was greeted with a smile and was introduced to a salesman. No high pressure or intimidation. I explained I knew nothing and they began to educate me. I missed buying a used RV they had by a day' someone else got a great deal. I started looking online and found one far away. Again, not knowing a thing I called summit RV and explained my situation and they told me what to be careful of and what to look for in an RV someone else was going to sell me. I've gone to their parts department and again I have Glenn greeted with a smile and asked if they could help me. The loss of the one star is the service department. They take a very long for time to Check you in, it takes days to get service done and it took a very log time to get checked out. The repairs were done expertly and I trust then but I don't understand why my RV has to sit in their lot for days before they get to a scheduled service appointment. read more

WoW I just can't say enough positive things about Summit RV Sales.... HUGE inventory, easy to find location. I mean it's not an RV "Lot" there are acres & acres to choose from. Selection actually comes second to the staff here! The friendly personal attention from our great salesman Gary was incredible. All the people at Summit are phenomenal! I didn't purchase my RV from Summit but thought they would honor the warranty from Winnebago. I was told that the only way they would perform warranty work on my RV was that if I paid them for their work then I try to recoup my costs from Winnebago. Called Winnebago and was told that any dealer that sells their products should honor their warranty. But Summit wouldn't. Glad I didn't buy from them! read more

I have given a lot of thought to doing this review, I am from the Ashland KY area, grew up there and had moved away. So when it was time for my wife and I to get serious about purchasing a camper I told her I felt like we should go to Summit RV. We traveled 3 hours and passed up many that we could have done business with. We looked at a 2011 Freedom Express that was traded by someone local, the reason we knew this was their paperwork was still in the camper after we purchased it. Being a brand new camper buyer I/we knew very little about what we were getting into as well as what red flags to look for so being Summit RV I felt that we would get an up and up deal on a camper, to make matters more interesting the salesman that I/we dealt with was someone whose sister I went to school with in Ashland. Fast Forward.....we met their delivery people half way and proceeded to bring it home, after one hour of ownership there was a blowout 20 minutes from our home, after blindly dealing with that and getting the spare on I immediately took it to a tire dealership to have the tire replaced, upon doing this it was pointed out by the dealership that the date code on the all the tires were, if I am remembering correctly without looking at all the paperwork I have saved, were older than the camper! Lesson one was on date codes, then after taking it to have the damaged repaired that was caused to our newly purchased camper it was pointed out there was at one time a leak in the camper by the repair facility and was shown the proof of this by the slight bow on the top to middle outside front as well as the blistered interior in the closet in the bedroom, this leak was NEVER disclosed to us and I'm sure by being the professionals, their people had went through it. Now keep in mind that my insurance company had reached out to Summit RV to see about some time of restitution on the out of date tires that blew out not even an hour after owning it, that caused damage to the underside, as well as trim and molding to our first camper and nothing was ever resolved from their end. I'm not looking for anything in this other than to point out this was our first and only camper that we will purchase from Summit RV. I was very disappointed in how the entire event took place, we still have the camper and will be paying a few more years on it while Summit RV has been paid in full, but we will trade it somewhere else for a new one. Lesson learned on what to look for as well as blindly placing trust in what I thought was a reputable dealership. read more

Bought this camper as a hail damage special and price was right, so I signed up. Within the first 2 years have been to service 5 times. Twice over a radio that just slid out and was improperly fixed the first time. Another with an awning bracket that broke. No my A/C is not working. Has sat there a month, and they claim that it is warranties fault and they are still waiting. Half of camping season over sitting on the lot. Instead of replacing the A/c and reimbursing later they choose to sit and allow the customer to wait. read more

Summit RV is not a place i would recommend we went to look at and purchase a used lance slide in truck camper. Was told it had a small leak that had been fixed but upon me and my husband checking it out there was very severe water damage done to the wood and the siding of the camper where the bed Lays there was severe wood rot and the camper still leaked in several places none of which had been disclosed we decided to go ahead and negotiate a deal to buy it we spent two days negotiating a deal on this camper the salesman knew we wanted to buy it after or two to three phone calls everyday on the last day he said I have some good news and bad news the good news is I can get the camper for you for $3,800 out the door the bad news is we sold the camper. Never one time telling us that we needed to make a deposit on the camper or put the money down to pay for it otherwise it's fair game and could be sold while we were negotiating when I try to say anything about it the salesman became nasty and acted like it was his god-given right to do whatever he pleased after requesting to speak to corporate I begin speaking to a lady named Jess who is sales manager at Summit RV she began telling me all we're going to get you in a nice little camper for your $4,000 that you had we're going to take care of you don't worry about it I will make sure everything goes right I'll take care of everything after 2 days of speaking to her then her showing me a really crappy 1980s model camper I wouldn't have paid $1,000 for she just stopped also she has never been back in contact with me never made anything right if you ask me Summit RV employees from the cell staff all the way to management are very shady I would give them less than a one star but that's all they have I suggest you to wait because Rumor Has It Bluegrass RVs is going to be in the old Fannin building read more
