First off, I admit I am a disgruntled former tenant. Take that into consideration, however, I feel it is necessary to warn others of my experience.
One fact that cannot be disputed is that this property is managed by AIY Properties and this is the link to their profile from the Better Business Bureau ( http://www.bbb.org/cleveland/Business-Reviews/property-management/aiy-properties-llc-in-lakewood-oh-16004046/). The BBB gives them a rating of "F" which is their lowest rating possible so there is something to the fact that this place is extremely mismanaged!
Just recently moved out after living here three years. I was extremely dissatisfied with this property and am taking the time to warn others to look elsewhere. The problems I had with this property never ended. The only thing that kept me at the property for so long was the convenient location to my job.
Be prepared for extremely high electric bills. It is amazing how much money I wasted on electric bills in this unit. Even went to the extreme of shutting off the power at the breaker box to prevent wasted electricity. The average electric bill was over $100 per month. Also, just wait until you get your first water bill. The charges kept piling up.
The neighbors in this building are extremely shady. Several times the police had to visit some of my neighbors. They also constantly leave bagged trash in the hallways. Because the hallways are open air, animals could regularly get into the trash that is left out overnight.
The management and maintenance at this property is invisible. The grounds are not maintained well. There is a small lake at the front of the property filled with trash. Responses to maintenance requests regularly went ignored.
The final surprise from this place were the move out charges. $30 to clean a microwave, $60 to clean a refrigerator, and $400 to replace the carpet. Again, lived there for three years and there was nothing more than regular wear and tear. When I called to dispute the charges the person I spoke to from the corporate office said "they would gladly sue me in civil court to collect the charges they assessed." She even went as far to say that there were cigarette burns everywhere and I am a non-smoker.
Bottom line, save your money. This place is a money pit. The high rents do not reflect the level of service you are going to receive or the luxury living they proclaim to offer. read more
