The standard room has the basics of any hotel: clean and soft bath towels, personal hygeniene kit, hot and cold showers, a bath tub (if you are lucky to get one of the several rooms that has one), clean linens, fluffy pillows, and a television set with cable network. WiFi is freely accessible on any floor but sometimes, the signal is weak when you are inside the room already. Some rooms don't have windows, just request for a room with windows. There's a pool at the roof top where you can view the Manila Bay and the famous Manila sunset. The pool's a bit small and you cant do your laps there but it is enough to accommodate 10--12 guests at a given time. Parking is actually quite a problem, though. With a low rate and sufficient service, V Hotel would be the cheapest hotel in the area. An overnight stay there wouldn't cost you much.

But I let the receptionist know that I have arrived and I have a reservation for the night. The receptionist let me put my info, then advised me to sit and wait. After like maybe 15 minutes, my name is called and I was told that my room is ready. Wow!! I wanted to jump for joy. They let me checked in early (normally 2pm). An employee showed me my room, gave a brief explanation and left me to rest. The room is decent. A/C works well but it's making a noise. It's the shower that I love. Good water pressure. Just the down side - no shower curtain to separate the shower and toilet, so the whole bathroom is wet. Overall it was a good experience. I wouldn't mind staying here again. While I waited in line I overheard different languages while they walked by. The room was spacious and clean. We had a nice view of Manila Bay and the promenade. The bathroom had a rainfall shower and they offered the usual toiletries on the sink counter. The view was pretty at night as the seaside promenade was lit up. The room service Halo-Halo was good. It was a pretty big portion size so my fam and I were able to share it. It was a nice treat after a busy day. The room was pretty quiet. If we had neighbors we didn't hear them. The pool area was nicely designed and beautifully landscaped. The staff working there were friendly. I liked that there was artwork spread throughout the resort so there was always something interesting to look at. The different artwork stopped me in my tracks a couple of times. We dined at one of their restaurants, Brasserie on 3, and we showed up for their breakfast buffet. I still think Medley Buffet at Okada is better in food and service but Brasserie was still pretty good. The hotel has a pretty large layout so it can take some time to get to the Mall of Asia but it was still very convenient. I liked that this property is connected to the mall via a pedestrian bridge. We were a party of four with friends vacationing from the US. We booked in advance at booking.com.... the hotel was delightful. Clean and spacious. The lobby and the rooms we chose were overlooking the volcano. Of course, when we got there, the steam/ash from the volcano was covering the view. Nevertheless, the hotel has much to offer. We checked in at 2pm. The guests were few as we were allowed to check-in early. Normally, it's a 4pm check-in with a 2pm check-out. After relaxing at our rooms for a couple of hours, we decided to do the SPA. Best decsion we did that day. By the way they have an ice cream 'caritela' at the lobby . You must try the chocnut flavored ice-cream... the avocado too! All four of us truly enjoyed The VEDERA SPA. We did the 60 minute body scrub and 60 minute massage for 2800 pesos each. That was rejuvenating and relaxing. Our skin felt smooth and soft after the scrub and the massage, solid excellence - you can tell the staff are well trained therapist. Not just fly-by-day masseuse. After the massage, we had dinner indoors due to the ash fall. There was simple entertainment with a female singer accompanied by male guitarist. Pleasant tones I say. Even sang our requested songs. Come morning, the buffet was scrumptious. Tiny fried fishes were a favorite at our table. 'Tawilis' I believe. So many food options and they had TAHO!!! My childhood breakfast food...how wonderful was that! The buffet had all-american and filipino dishes. Oh and the steam/ash died down in the morning. Giving us a great view for breakfast. After the heat and traffic of the lowlands, arriving in Tagaytay almost feels like stepping into another world entirely. The views overlooking the volcano are absolutely spectacular. Taal itself is fascinating because it is one of the world's smallest active volcanoes, sitting within a lake, which itself sits inside a larger volcanic caldera. The entire landscape has this dramatic beauty to it when viewed from the ridge roads and hotels perched high above the lake. For our Easter brunch, we chose the famous Taal Vista Hotel, which has one of the prime viewing locations in the area. The buffet itself was wonderful. There were many distinctive offerings ranging from Filipino dishes to international selections, along with a large assortment of desserts and breads. Everything felt fresh, plentiful, and beautifully presented. The service throughout brunch was also excellent -- attentive, warm, and polished in that distinctly Filipino way that always makes guests feel genuinely welcomed. But honestly, one of the most memorable parts of the experience was the entertainment. Throughout brunch, there were traditional Filipino folk dancers and performers moving through the dining area performing cultural dances in vibrant historical costumes. The music, movement, and dramatic presentation added so much atmosphere to the meal. It transformed brunch from simply eating into something celebratory and immersive. I have always been skeptical about things like these mostly because I found it a bit fake - always best foot forward, they'll make sure everything is perfect and topnotch, mostly because they know someone is there paying close attention to anything and everything. I'm glad I took the offer because I saw and experienced first hand what they could offer. We were given a tour of the property, being shown the kinds of rooms they had, from the smallest suite that can fit up to four, to the biggest that can fit up to 8 comfortably. Only having less that 10 rooms, the whole hotel can only accommodate up to 40 guests. I'd like to see that as a good thing, because it can be occupied by one big family or group and they would have the entire property to themselves. My favorite would be the small room at the basement floor, which has a totally separate entrance at the side of the hotel. It has a small patio outside, complete with coffee table and perfect for quiet meals or reading a book. It's right by the highway, but just entering the lobby already gives that relaxed feel and vibe, it feels like you entered your home away from home. The general feel of the place is serene, very rustic, and exuding the relaxed and laid-back feel of the country. After all, this is Tagaytay, and there's no better quick getaway venue than the secluded Discovery Country Suites.

First, the security guard asked us 10 different questions and it felt like an interrogation. We felt so unwelcome. Already, it was a terrible experience! Since we first spoke on October 5 and upon arrival, not a single person from your sales team reached out or followed up -- despite confirming the appointment for October 17 and assuring me that it was "noted." We waited for 20 minutes in your office, were eventually led to the "blue room" to meet the salespeople, and still waited endlessly. No one seemed to know what was going on. The entire experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and a total embarrassment for what's supposed to be a reputable resort. What makes this worse is that I had been messaging since October 5, trying to coordinate. Had your team shown even a fraction of professionalism, you could've had a full week's stay from guests who have shared stages with Tony Robbins and Oprah Winfrey, using your amenities daily and generating great exposure for your brand. Instead, you've shown a complete lack of awareness, urgency, and business sense. Opportunities like this don't knock twice -- and you've managed to slam the door shut on yours. Truly disappointing.
