They just kept my phone number in a queue and called me back when Denise called me back. She was friendly knowledgeable, and made the experience very enjoyable. We could not be more pleased with our experience with Summit Respiratory for our temporary need of an in-home oxygen concentrator. The service, from dispatch, to delivery and setup, to pick-up was consistently professional and courteous. Our technician, Haylee, took great pains to identify a quiet machine, as it was to be used primarily at night, delivered the unit at the scheduled time and provided clear directions for its use, then picked it up, again, as scheduled. Terrible experience with this company. It's a shame these guys are in charge of peoples' oxygen and respiratory care. They only deliver oxygen tanks to you every 12 weeks and expect you to know how many tanks you will be using in those 12 weeks. They also don't let you have more than 10 tanks, so sorry if you use a higher oxygen flow rate than others. They aren't open on weekends, so if you need assistance with your oxygen, you gotta go to the ER. And their overnight oxygen studies are horrible. Their devices don't interpret the results accurately, plus they also take forever to set the studies up and interpret the results. They said the results would be ready in 24-48 business hours but took them 192 business hours instead (yes, that is 8 business days). And to top it off, they didn't even send the results to the ordering doctor! Then there's the wait time when calling their office. I was on hold for over an hour before speaking with someone. It's sad there are only a couple oxygen companies my insurance pays for, because Summit needs to get audited and change their practice. If possible, avoid this place. read more

I called Summit 4 times and each time I got wrong information. Than I have a walker and.no one that can help me put the oxygen tank in my car with a walker. I asked for a Supervisor 4 times and refused one. And when a Linda Supervisor called and left me a message said they do not come for one tank.i had to find someone to help me. I have no children and I don't socialize with the people in my apartment. I called the man office in Denver. And the lady on the phone kept saying we are not connected to the one in Colorado Springs. Finally I got her to admit she know the office in the Springs. I said I am calling to file a complaint. She said she wrote down what I had to say. That is all in a uncaring way. I called the Springs Office the next day. They said they would pick it up on Tuesday. No time set. I said why did I not get a call about the pick up? The Customer Service Representative Had nothing to say. I said I filed a complaint against your Company. The Representative said there are no Complaints in my file. Memorial Hospital sends you to someone that has a rating of 2.1. read more

Had a referral sent to Summit from my Dr. for oxygen and they refused to fill it. The lady on the other end of the line was refusing to listen and worked hard not to work at all. Called back my Dr. and told the office to place the order with another supplier. How they stay in business makes me scratch my head. read more

Do not trust this office!!! This office is poorly run, it's difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, and they will over charge you if you do not question them and get corporate confirmation. I needed a new water chamber for my C-Pap machine, and Summit Respiratory told me it was $55 to replace it (with insurance). I questioned that price and they assured me that was the replacement price. I called corporate and it was actually $14.50 for a replacement. I told them that Summit was charging me $55. The corporate agent tried to reach them by phone in a 3 way call but no answer because it is next to impossible to reach someone by phone, so she sent an email telling them it was $14.50 a piece no matter how many I bought. I was then able to pick up my replacement at the real price of $14.50. My question is: how many other folks have you ripped off like me, who are on a fixed retirement income? They were going to charge me 3.79 times the actual cost. If you have any other options as to a supplier, I'd take it and skip Summit altogether. read more

I would avoid this place, they have no empathy for the situation and offer no help to resolve issues. They were referred through Health First Colorado to my BIL. A billing issue that could have been resolved in days has been drug out for more than a year. Each month a person calls my very sick BIL to tell them they are sending someone to pick up the machine that provides him with LIFE ASSURING Oxygen if he doesn't pay his bill. Despite repeatedly explaining it was a billing issue and that it needed to be re-submitted the calls and threats continue. Today I got involved. I began contacting the office on the bill and was told that the local office would have to be contacted. I contacted the local office and they stated it would have to be addressed with Billing at the number I already called. I asked if we could conference a call, nope, can't be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor (who was coaching in the background) and was told that she would have to call me back, she wasn't available currently. I contacted the billing office again this time they stated it had been over a year and they could not help. But if I wanted to escalate the call I could get a call back in 48 to 72 hours. I hung up and found a customer service email. I sent documentation to the customer service email verifying that they could re-submit the bill (a copy of letter from Healthcare Colorado to Summit/Rotech stating it could be re-billed and that BIL was insured at the time of billing and it was against the law to harass patients). Finally, I contacted the Corporate Satisfaction number, guess what? They were able to re-submit the bill immediately. It took me more than an hour and speaking to 3 foreign Customer Service Centers and 1 Local call and finally a call to corporate headquarters to get the issue resolved. There is a lack of Customer Service in this organization, I wouldn't use them if I had a choice. read more

Welp, another 1 star rating. I could wax on about the pretty dismal experience we had with the Colorado Springs Rotech entity. Tho most of what has been posted via other reviews, we experienced. A key failure was billing was not created properly. We have been chasing the subsequent mess for months. Still. We were told by the national Rotech service to work with the local rep. Ops, did... local said we had to talk to our insurance company first. Ops, we did and were told to call the national Rotech. But we were just there. Called again... we were then told needed to talk to the insurance company otherwise we needed to return the CPAP machine. Pretty horrific experience. The problems are legion at the local level as you can read by other posts. I felt like walking out of a decade apocalypse fog and seeing there were others like us. So we are now in a mad cycle of trying to find someone locally, ops no, someone at the national level, ops no, insurance company, ops no... to help solve this before we get a bill that adds to the national debt. To round it out... the initial pickup and 'training' was insanely bad. Rushed. Got thru about 25% of the initial pickup training, which did not include everything to go with the in office pickup and training. Soooooo, dunno where else to go for CPAP but we will very unfortunately be going back to our superb Primacy Care doc and asking them to waste more of their time solving Rotech problems. Have I vented enough? Nope. Most important of all... we know that the end game of all this is healthcare deals with people who usually do not feel well. If people do not have a capable (and good natured, good humored) patient advocate, it can be a nightmare. We see it all the time. But starting with the Rotech Colorado Springs group, they need to be lightyears better than they are. Or go do something else that doesn't involve customer care, customer service, customer training, customer interaction, customer... etc etc etc. Back into the fog... read more

The drivers are great, they always let me know when they will be at my house to fill my liquid oxygen tanks. Office personnel have been very nice and try to help as much as possible. The company is growing rapidly and meeting the demands requires a structured discipline to manage the needs of the customers. My doctor sent a prescription to , and I never heard another word for two weeks. Finally, I called and they said somebody will call today. Never called. Call them again and then they that everything was set and they would send me my CPAP equipment. Nothing has ever came. It's closing in on one month and I get no response from the company when I try to get them to tell me where my equipment is. So frustrating and so very sad that they care not about the health of the people they are supposedly serving. read more

I was recovering from shoulder surgery and was painfully hauling my oxygen tank back for return. An incredibly rude woman slammed the door on my face. I was there at 11:59. She yelled come back in an hour. Over an hour later she returned and once again was rude to me. Horrible customer service. If you like to be treated poorly this place is for you. The folks at the local office have been very helpful. However, the national Rotech Billing Department cannot get our insurance information correct. At first they had the wrong BCBS member ID. That' finally been corrected, but now they just can't get the Medicaid info into their system. Many, many phone calls with no success. Very frustrating. Their phone system is ridiculous. It takes 20 min to 2 hours to talk to a human. They don't show up when they say they will. When I asked for the equipment to be picked up and made an appointment I received a text that the driver was coming to pickup the equipment but no one ever came. The next day I called and was told that the driver said the "caregiver" called and postponed the driver because we were going out. That is a lie. No one called them and have no idea how to call a driver. I rescheduled for the next available time they would come. The next day I received an email threatening to charge me 30 days rental if I didn't get the equipment returned. I was proactive. They were negligent and false. read more

I returned an air compressor machine on Fri May 30th. Then on Mon June 2nd I received a text saying they were in my area and could pick it up. I called their office to remind them the machine had been returned by me on the 30th. It takes 15 minutes to speak to a person. On Thu June 4th I received another text from Summit Respritory warning me to either return the machine or I'd be responsible for the full cost of the air compressor. I spent another half hour trying to reach their customer service to advise them the machine had been returned 5 days ago. Whew!!!! read more

very simply problem. my cpap is not working properly so I called to have it replaced. Then the madness began. First, my doctor would need to send an updated request/prescription. No problem, I did it and ended up doing this 3 times with many phone calls dropped, not returned. Then, when I followed up the last updated prescription from my doctor for a machine replacement from my doctor, i was told that Summit doesn't deal with replacing machines as I was told they DID...they only send CPAP supplies. I would need to call Sleep Central. This advice required manager level consultation. So I called Sleep Central. Guess what? They said they don't replace CPAP machines. I would need to call Summit Respiratory who gave me the machine in the first place. After 6 weeks, many many phone calls (often ignored by summit), I now quit. I would rather be smothered by a pillow than keep going. Keep in mind Summit and Sleep Central are the same company. Employees NEVER know what to do and if they don't hang up on you, they give you advice that require YOU to handle everything (eg call someone else, do something else). They offer no assistance and whatever you do makes no difference. My doctor tells me all of the respiratory companies are awful, but I know it's not true at Kaiser. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I told a number of the CSA folks this and they commiserated with me as its apparently not an uncommon comment. read more

Hire someone for the phones! Waiting 20 minutes (so far) on hold to find the manager of this abysmally run business. My CPAP machine was picking up RF frequencies so I called in to Summit and Rotech, getting silly answers each time. Elaine, the Only one who cared about the issue, took the time to research and suggested I use airplane mode at night, turn it off in the morning. Also, to double check that the compliance report was received a few days later. When I called Summit after 5 days, I was told no reports were received so I made an appointment to discover that THE REPORTS HAD BEEN RECEIVED. The fellow said the customer service agent didn't have access to these reports: then WHY DID THEY MAKE UP A RESPONSE?! I expected the tech to take the SD card to verify my usage: Another surprise - there was no card. HOW would I have proven compliance if the cellular data hadn't been received?! THIS PLACE IS BADLY RUN, will definitely find a way to let Medicare, Rotech and whomever else know it too. read more

More than a month since my prescription for a cpap was called in. I have not been contacted by anyone in theaff despite daily promises to do so every time I've spent at least 20 minutes speaking to someone when I call. The receiving staff could not understand the notes that were placed on my account by another one of their members; one charged my credit card $37 and told me my insurance required the payment to ship my materials; the next day, I received a note from my insurance dated a week earlier that stated all had been approved two weeks prior at no cost to me. When I called again, no one could acknowledge or tell me about my payment. I was told my equipment was shipped, but when I called again to inquire I was told it had not. If you check on complaints w the BBB, Medicare, and the VA you would wonder what politician owns this company. read more

I have a recalled Philips Dream Station CPAP machine that can cause cancer if I continue to use it. Philips will not replace my machine before the end of 2022. (approx.4mos) My choice was to risk cancer or not be able to breathe while sleeping. Apolonia and LJ at Summit went out of their way to provide me a loaner CPAP machine at no cost until I receive a new machine from Philips. It was a life saving move that they did not have to take under normal business practices. I greatly appreciate their help in this situation. They are deserving of MORE than 5 stars. Jim T. read more

I flew into Colorado Springs and immediately showed signs of altitude sickness. Went to UC Health urgent care and they ordered an oxygen concentrator and portable oxygen. Summing Respiratory delivered both to my sisters home even though it was a Sunday evening. Chris delivered the equipment and showed us how to use them both. He was so kind and professional! He made sure I was all set up before he left. The following day Appolonia called to make sure everything was working properly for me. I can't say enough about the ladies at Summit Repiratory. I showed up at 3:58pm, when they close at 4. There were glitches in communication all around but they dropped everything and made me feel OK about the staying late to help me. They contacted the hospital to correct a prescription, got me all set up for my mother-in-law to make it back to California via car after a stroke. I was stressed and their kindness and professionalism made a huge difference for me. Thank you, ladies!!!! read more

Frequently out of tanks. Most recently, I went in for a mask refit. When I asked if I needed to bring my machine, I was told no. After I got there, I found out I was indeed supposed to bring my machine. As a result of me not having my machine, I selected a mask that will not work for me. It was comfortable until I turned on my machine at home. Then, it tried suffocating me. I called and made another appointment. When I got there, I was first told my appointment was half an hour later than it was supposed to be. Then, I was told I didn't have an appointment at all and she'd work me in. Finally, she came out an hour and a half after my appointment time, handed me a mask and said it was my only option. I have a small head and face. She handed me a large. It doesn't fit, so now I'm without a mask. Their communication problems have now endangered my life, since I can't afford to spend the $240 they quoted me for an out-of-pocket mask. Sleep Apnea is DEADLY. And they don't care. read more

After receiving a referral to this business for a bipap machine I patiently waited for a phone call or even an email. I was accepting of the fact that it might take some time to receive my equipment but at the very least I expected the courtesy of a contact to confirm the order. When no call came I decided to look at reviews. I take some negative customer reviews as normal but when just about every one of them was negative, especially in regard to their customer service, I decided to go elsewhere. My medical provider moved my order to another company. In a timely manner I received a phone call welcoming me and giving me a timeline as to when I should receive the machine. It arrived much quicker that I thought and I received in-person training on its operation. I would just remind people that they have choices, even with Medicare. No one needs to tolerate poor customer service. read more

The hours posted on their website are wrong - they open later than posted and close earlier than posted and close for an hour in the middle of the day. I drove 40 mins to pick up a sleep study device and arrived 15 mins before their website posted close time but was actually 45 minutes late. A person came out to ask me if I needed help and I told her what I was here for and she said she couldn't help me because of "the system." When I told her their posted website hours are wrong and I drove 40 minutes to get her she muttered something else about the system, turned around went back inside. Find a different company to assist you with your respiratory medical needs because this place won't. read more

I would consider this company crooks, thief's, and incompetent workers. We had received our daughters oxygen tank the day we left the hospital in May 2022. We then got another set delivered to the house a couple of days later. Everything seemed fine. We then returned everything a month later (June 2022) since she no longer needed it. This company didn't give us a receipt stating we returned everything or make us sign anything, they were more worried about people wearing their masks, so we thought, ok we are good to go. Then come to find out that they have been billing our insurance company for 7 months stating that we still had the equipment. We called them in Jan 2023 and spoke with Ms. Brittany asking them why there are billing our insurance company because we owe them money. They said that we never returned the equipment. We gave them the date and time of the return and then they said they would close the account stating we didn't owe anything. Today May 23, 23 we got a statement saying we owed summit $20. Totally being upset, we go down to Summit and explained the situation again and then Ms. Brittany would handle it. We then get a return receipt for the equipment stating it was returned back in June 2022... This company is a joke and a fraud. My insurance company was billed for 7 months for something they should have been billed for and we were charged $100 out of pocket for this as well, that we paid. read more

I have been put on oxygen for the first time. I ran out of the four "portable tanks today and called when I got home about getting more. I was lectured like a 5 year that, "I cannot call at closing time and ask for oxygen to be delivered whenever I needed it". I apologized for calling at their closing time, which is not on their products, just their phone number. Mind you, the gentlemen who delivered it, said just call when you need more. I asked if I could get it tomorrow, as I have a doctors appointment that took me a month and a half to get, and she said, "cancel it". Your company delivers oxygen products to those in need....but only when it is convenient for you???? Why are you even in business???? If I could actually drive that far without oxygen and not pass out from my levels dropping so low, I would have done so. That also defeats your part of delivery??? read more

The most uncaring staff (overall) I have EVER dealt with in almost all levels of life. First- 2 appointments where no one showed up to replace my empty tank. I told them fill it or take it. I have no use for a ballistic missile in my home with no "fuel" in it. I made myself available 2 different whole days- no call/no show. Now my machine is overdue for maintenance (I CALLED INVACARE DIRECTLY!). Perhaps it's only a bit over a month but how is that acceptable? They were several months late last time and I swear nothing was done but a O2 check. I might as well do that myself. I also tried to send this heap back. They were ready to then pushed back and said they want a doctors order. I am on this by choice. My PA/Doc said this was optional and not because I would end up dead by morning. I would even consider buying this since it's $88/2 months with insurance but I don't trust the maintenance now. I am switching providers but sadly- I don't expect a whole lot more than I am getting now. This business is a racket. Also, that is pathetic since some folks on O2 are in deathly need. I don't doubt any of the 1 star reviews. I do doubt a 5 star. I had a TERRIBLE time getting things going in the first place. Now it's just dropped off (years now) and left to rot. Thanks a ton caring folks. I write columns and cannot wait to weigh in on the proof I have in writing for the public to see. Clean up your act. If you hate your job- look for a new one but do a good one while you are at a job.
