The first management company was awful and then Altman bought the Dartmouth apartments and somehow it became even worse. They cut down all the trees and replaced the roof all within the same few weeks. Our car has a nice gash on it and they won't even respond to us; so we started a BBB complaint. Horrible experience and no communication whatsoever. Thank God our lease was ending and we were moving out. Getting our security deposit back is most likely going to be a nightmare because nobody picks up a phone at the office or responds to emails. Run away! UPDATE: THIS AWFUL COMPANY IS SAYING WE ARE DELINQUENT ON RENT AND NOT GIVING US OUR DEPOSIT BACK. IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE OUR LEASE WAS LEGALLY TERMINATED IN A CONTRACT. CALLED, NO ANSWER. MULTIPLE EMAILS, NO ANSWER. Dear Altman Company who never responds, I am writing to follow up on the return of our security deposit, which has not yet been received. It has been over a month since our lease was legally terminated on August 31, 2024, as documented in previous correspondence. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter, we have not received any response. If we do not hear from you by the end of this week, we will be forced to seek legal counsel and contact the Swarthmore Township financial office to report that security deposits are being withheld from former tenants. Additionally, we will escalate the matter further by reporting your company's false accusations of delinquent rent payments. Please note, we have kept detailed records of all communications, including our unanswered emails and the BBB complaint filed regarding property damage caused by your roofing contractors this summer. That two weeks turned into six weeks and then three months and I finally lost confidence that I'd ever be able to move in. The apartments might be nice but it's not worth the risk that you'll be hung out to dry with no alternatives right before move in. If communication was this bad before move in imagine how it would be if there was a problem with your unit and you needed to contact management. My advice is stay away.
