Wrong parts impossible to return hours on the phone. Horrible customer service. You have to explain your issues over and over. And then they transfer you to another department and you get to explain yourself over again. Then they say they will send you return labels but they don't so you have to start the process over again. Went to return a part that I never used and had purchased LESS that 30 days ago, and was told on the phone that I could return it for a full refund because of that. Once I showed up in person I was told there'd be a restocking fee which the phone rep told me there wouldn't be one because again it's been LESS than 30 days. The woman at the counter tells me it's not in its original packaging and that's why there's a fee, but it was NEVER in its original packaging and it came from 2 different locations and was shipped together in ONE package. Also the manager never came to talk to me directly she kept going back and forth relaying responses to him/her which is unprofessional in itself. This review is based on my experience with a recent online order - I was looking for a solution to carry an unmounted spare tire on my RV. When I started my search I figured it was going to be a relatively simple task, after spending several hours searching multiple sites to no avail I finally found a partial solution here at Summit Racing. I placed my order and they took care of everything else, it was a very simple process. I received an immediately email confirmation of the order, followed by a second communication which verified the product shipped including a tracking number. The product arrived on time and correct - if I have any complaint it's with the packaging, some of the smaller parts were packed loose in the box and must have falling out due to damage to the packaging during shipping since the carrier had placed a number of parts outside the package on my porch fortunately everything was accounted for so there wasn't any issue. I understand that the damage likely occurred during transit after a change of custody but Summit Racing Equipment failed to provide adequate packaging after looking closer - it was cheap and poorly executed so this made the experience just okay I was one missing part away from being disappointed and inconvenienced I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good... read more

Be very care. I have found that over the last couple of years that fewer and fewer of the items that Summit Racing states fit your Make and Model actually DO NOT FIT! I am not sure if this is because more and more items are direct shipped from the manufacturing or if Summit Racing is NOT doing the quality control they use to do! AND be very, VERY care to watch your REFUNDS. Summit has a tendency (if not policy) to short ship refunds EVEN when the error was on their side. The last two shipments they sent did NOT fit the car they stated that it would. The last was i ordered interior Weather-stripping clips and they sent Truck Mud Flap clips. NOT interchangeable nor even close... And when I returned the items, they charged a Label Fee and did NOT pay back the Tax or Freight although the items they shipped were wrong. So, Check your Refunds! Thankfully both times I caught them doing this I called them, and they DID CORRECT their error. read more

Summit Racing has always provided me with extremely positive customer service experiences and handling of orders. With that being said, things seem to have gone extremely down hill. I use their Beat-A-Price-Guarantee service often which is super cool and generous of them to offer. I submitted a request on 6/21 and for some reason my request did not get picked up on their end until 6/28. After chatting back and forth with customer service reps from 6/28 - 7/04 they told me they could not honor the beat a price guarantee because I submitted the request after the order had already shipped. I called customer support and tried to explain to them that I think their email service flagged my request as spam because when I got a response from them it had the word "[SPAM]" in the subject line. I did indeed send the request before the order had shipped on 6/21 and even sent a screenshot of my original email that was timestamped on 6/21. My issue was escalated to a woman who on the phone accused me of adding the word spam to the subject line of my own email which is beyond absurd. Not only is that rude, it's insulting. I asked since this seems to have been out of my control what should I have done and her response was that if you didn't hear back from us the same day, you should have followed up. She was curt, unprofessional and dismissive. This is a real bummer because Summit carries most everything I need, but in the future I'll start ordering from other more respectful companies. read more

Outstanding. This site had a bunch of options to choose from. One of the only places I could find the Fuel Wheels center hubs. Price was reasonable and shipping was fast and well packaged. There was a slight manufacturers defect in one of the hubs, and Summit answered my email in record time and backed their manufacturer's (Fuel's) part. They sent me emails and updates on the replacement got me the part faster than I expected. Their support seems to be unmatched in my experience in the auto and aftermarket parts world; and they have a ton of options on their site. I am really surprised to see so many negative reviews about Summit Racing. It's is an excellent company that you can trust. In over 30 years as a customer, I have never had a problem returning a purchase if I needed to. They are very clear about which products they have in stock, and when they expect to ship the products they don't. Their customer service is responsive and tries to be helpful. It's not realistic to think they can be experts on everything - one poor seat recommendation comes to mind - but I have found their advice to be worth asking for, and better than their competitors'. Summit's recent (from a 30-year perspective) entry into restoration parts is a welcome development. They have the absolute worst customer service. Paid for 2nd day air, still hasn't arrived 2 days past delivery date. Customer service manager Zach sure doesnt care that my shop has a car stuck on the rack for an extra 2-3 days. They wouldnt send me a replacement until another day passed and now the weekend hit. So the car has been sitting on my rack since Monday and will be there unrepaired until next Monday. I called 2x today and both reps were terrible & unhelpful. Offered a $13 refund. At the advice of the manufacturer of a part I need, I placed an on-line order with Summit. It went through perfectly on their site and I got an email titled Confirmation of your Order (with order number). A week later I am thinking this part should have been there, so I dig through my emails and find my confirmation number. Burred at the bottom a message that my credit card was declined (my credit cards don't ever get declined, so must be something with their ordering system). So I call to try and resolve the issue.... 3 times on hold for 15 minutes waiting on customer service, and hang up. Finally I press the button like I am a new order and in 2 minutes I have a human on the line. I explain what needs to be done and he says... can I transfer you to customer service? I tell him only if you there is no wait... In 32 minutes that I am on hold Now for the good part. The customer service person I spoke with was able to handle everything in one call, including a credit towards my purchase to make things right. I wish I recall her name so I could give her credit. I ordered a part with this company and was told they would ship within 3 to 4 days. Not only did it not ship in the timeframe stated, no communication was sent to me to update the expected arrival time. Upon investigation of where the part was in the process, I found out that the shipping date was moved out over a month, so I decided to cancel the order. Despite my cancellation online and a phone call to confirm the cancellation, Summit Racing will not refund the charge, even though the part isn't available from the manufacturer, according to Summit Racing. In addition, the customer service rep I spoke to was more than just rude; he was combative and aggressive. If you want to be treated like that, be sure to use Summit Racing. To ensure the order was received, I called Summit and was informed that the item would ship from the manufacturer as Summit had no stock. I then personally contacted the manufacturer and learned that only two units were left. Concerned about the low stock, I called Summit back to expedite my order, and they confirmed it would be processed the same day. However, days went by without receiving a tracking number. When I called and chatted with Summit, they could not provide an update. Upon contacting the manufacturer again, I discovered that Summit had not placed the order. Summit claimed they had placed the order and were waiting for tracking. They also incorrectly stated that the manufacturer could not confirm orders without Summit's internal purchase order. Three days later, I received a cancellation email from Summit. This experience was a complete waste of time. I placed the order directly with the manufacturer and promptly received a tracking number. I placed an order online for 17" Rims for my car because they had the best price of all the companies I researched online but I guess it was listed with the wrong price because they canceled my order after I called them several times to confirm that my order was correct because 16" rims were listed on my invoice the customer service agent that help me assured me that it was the correct size and I asked the invoice to be revised with the correct size which he did but a couple of days later I received an email stating that the rim manufacturer had discontinued the rims and they were canceling my order which clearly is a lie. The staff I have worked with there have always been super helpful and knowledgeable for a neophyte like me. Have been using Summit Racing equipment for years, they used to be a customer service oriented outfit, always went out of their way to make sure customer was satisfied. Over the years have bought close to $100K in parts from them. Recently they just don't care, expect to be on hold with customer service for hours. I purchased a $2K air conditioning system from them and they got the parts wrong, not a big deal it was a complicated setup, but try getting them to fix it was a 2 hour ordeal, and they made me feel that it was my fault for ordering it from them. You can tell the employees don't care anymore and that is a sign of poor management. Going to drastically scale back on my business with them, have been using JEGS and ClassicIndustries more often now. read more

Avoid summit at all costs. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to review this company. Customer service is completely useless and will not help you which is mind blowing considering this is a distribution company and customer service should be utmost importance. I ordered a transmission through them which arrived timely (only good aspect) the trans had problems and have a week of phone calls nor summit or the distributor would help me. I had to pay my mechanic to fix the problem with my new transmission. After I got over this hurdle I begun my next series of 2weeks of phone calls to begin getting my core charge back. Summit told me to use their online service I did and shocker it didnt work, called back setup an appointment for the carrier to come get it shocker summit didnt set it up right, called again summit told me to call the carrier I did and the carrier didnt know what I was talking about shocker, called summit again and finally got someone that knew what they were doing and assured me they will be there today for the trans core will update my review if this turns out to be a flop again. First off this is a hard 4, I'd give 5 stars, but their inventory is funky in a way. I wanted a regular 390FE (or equivalent) block, and regular heads, but all they had was crate motors, and I didn't want to spend 6k on a motor I was gonna build myself. They don't seem to have a lot of low-buck OEM-grade stuff, it's higher quality, but also at a proportionately higher price, too. Sometimes I don't want a racing water pump. I dig the fact they mostly only sell high quality goods from reputable brands, but not all of us have 3,000 dollars to spend on the only set of aluminum performance heads available for a project engine. Maybe that's just a manufacturer connection thing... Anyways, their prices are competitive, and processing/shipping speed has always been among the best I've seen. Never had an issue over the phone, but maybe I just got lucky. Staff is on the ball, when it comes to knowledge and service. If they had more affordable stuff in stock, and a more expansive variety of parts for different ranges, it'd be a no-braimer 5 stars. read more
