I decided on TCO Blaine due to their close location to my home and their new facilities. I contacted my insurance, and they are in-network!! I was able to make my first appt within 7 days of calling. Check-in was a breeze. The lobby directory told me to report to the 2nd floor clinic. Big enough lobby with a big TV and coffee bar. My wait wasn't long. The reception, Medical Assistant (Makenzie??) and Medical Doctor (Dr. Ridley) were friendly and welcoming. After my exam, it was recommended that I return for hand therapy. Appointments are made on the 1st floor so I headed down to that suite. A gentleman helped me make an appointment for 4 days later (today, Friday). So today was my 2nd time here. Today, I met with Katie, an occupational (hand) therapist. She was great! She worked on my wrist, arm, and shoulder to see where I was having pain. She gave me verbal and written instructions/ homework/ daily exercises to do at home for the next couple of weeks. So we'll see how I feel in 6 weeks. It may be one and done, or I'll need to see her again. Haven't received a bill, so I can't speak on that yet.. But overall, I've been happy with how I've been treated.

I had been seeing this doctor for over a year for hip pain. 3 injections, physical therapy…read moresessions, offered no help. He never showed me the xray results then, nor again two weeks ago. He never described what he saw in those xrays! " I can not operate until A1C is below 8" was his advice. Thank goodness I found a different health group and was told that RECONSTRUCTIVE hip surgery is going to be required, not just hip replacement. Now this is really bad news!, TCO NEVER shared the extent of damage the xray showed!!!! My leg is now shorter because the ball joint is pushing up higher into my skeletal frame. And that a doctor with extended training will have to perform surgery.(when a1c is lowered) This doctor was encouraging and supportive and spent 45 min. guiding me through my difficulty.

Despite providing them with my entire medical history which included breast cancer, this clinic ignored my health history information. I was barely examined by their practitioner during the less than ten minute appointment. They prescribed steroids and physical therapy for my back pain. After completing the steroids, the pain worsened. I canceled the physical therapy and sought a second opinion at Summit Orthopedics in Plymouth. They immediately ordered an MRI which revealed a metastasized cancerous tumor on my fractured 8T and 9T vertebraes. If an orthopedic clinic cannot properly diagnose a fractured spine, that is probably the first clue they are incompetent!!! I was hospitalized immediately under an emergency basis as my spinal cord was at risk for serious injury leading to paralysis. Had it not been for Summit Orthopedics in Plymouth, I could have been further injured and paralyzed. Also, a metastatic cancer on my spine would have gone undetected. Twin Cities Orthopedics is the epitome of incompetent orthopedic medicine. I cannot overly emphasize the danger they put me in with my health and life through their gross medical incompetence. Please benefit from my experience and do not put your health and life in danger. Avoid this place at all costs.

I now have lower back problems, a huge knot in my thigh, and pain and a burning numbness in my foot. I also have a torn acl and meniscus in my other knee due to it having to compensate. I have been fairly happy with Summit Orthopedics for the Vadnais Heights and Woodbury locations…read more The only struggle I have had is after having injections, that the doctors don't like to prescribe pain meds. I have had 4 different epidural/steroidal injections in the last 3 months and they have caused significant pain for 2-3 days afterwards and I have missed a lot of work due to this. If I was given something right away for the pain, it would have been easier to get through those 2-3 initial days and I would not have had to miss work. I also do not like the fact that it can be difficult to get any discharge instructions or work restrictions after the procedures. Whenever I leave any Allina clinics, I am given specific notes and after visit summaries. I am a person that wants everything documented so that if I have questions afterwards, I can refer to the paperwork. The doctor's and other staff members are very friendly and usually seem to care about your health moving forward. The reason why I say usually is because I have felt not listened to on a couple different occasions. I know what is going on with my body and I need to be heard regardless of other past circumstances from their other clients.
