I am an old, tired and run-down war horse, driven down by life itself, the flail, mace or pike…read moredriven relentlessly and ever-deeper into my flesh, the ragged claws tearing at my sinews, weakening my gait, yet hurtling me on toward either that great reward, or worse: a long life. So I haul my sorry excuse for a body to North Coast and give the Good Doctor the abridged version: Years of working on concrete floors, on my knees, hauling cast iron pipe, then on weekends, hey! Let's ski Squaw Valley top to bottom couple times! (I can hear the sand in my knees shifting, recalling the moguls, the absurdly long boards, the long drive back to the Bay Area. Ouch.) First, I get a complete food workup and discover that I have two sensitivities, which are usually associated with arthritis. Now, I know what you're thinking, Darlin', and I ain't THAT old. Just because there's snow on the roof... and... uh... It ain't the size of the ocean... but... um... Well, I'm not sure what I was saying, but my food rules are now in place and I'll be a son of a Republican if I don't feel about six or seven decades younger. I may even stand up and wobble in celebration! Oh, and I enjoyed the acupuncture. Really. It has a calming effect while at the same time allowing those unusual electric-like jolts of energy release. I was told, though, that it was their first experience of removing the needles and having vodka spurt out. "If people bring so much courage to this world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry." Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms

She's mindful in…read morespeech and action, sensitive to how we describe - and our how our bodies present - our symptoms. I heard she had a relatively new technique for addressing allergies: non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical - just what every mother wants for a suffering child. While Dr Tamara did not promise miracles, the results seemed to be just that. My 8 y.o. daughter had dark circles under her eyes from a week of sleeplessness due to allergies that robbed her of breath at night. We tried all the over-the-counter stuff, from ointments to syrups to chewables. When we walked into Dr Tamara's office, my child was struggling for every breath. We learned her sensitivities were to trees and flowers, not the pollens we had suspected. Thirty minutes later, with a mild sniffle, she could breathe - deep, lung-filled breaths. There were no pills to take, no changes to our daily routines, no side effects. About three months later, the seasonal winds blew in more irritants and my daughter asked to see Dr Tamara again...knowing first-hand the power of her healing methods. Dr Tamara is our first choice health advisor for our family. No matter that her services are not covered by insurance, the fees are affordable especially considering the results (and savings on prescription drugs!). He also provides education to patients so can live full life without medical treatments. I have gone through what I believe unecessary procedures through traditional medicine for years that are financially, physically and emotionally draining. Dr. Weeks was able to help and cure my issues within months and I was able to stop taking medications. If only I was led to Dr. Weeks sooner I could have avoided so many issues going the traditonal route that caused financial hardship and made me even more sick. Julie is also very helpful, informed and kind. Thank God for Dr. Weeks and Julie!

I know a good doctor when I find one, as my father was a general practitioner , one of the founders of Hillcrest Hospital , and practice till he was 92 years old ! I grew up teething on medical magazines, and I have worked in hospitals and doctors offices myself. Dr Weeks has addressed a few issues that other doctors I have gone to have ignored let alone taken care of. I thank God for good doctors in this day and age , and I would recommend Dr Weeks to anyone with any type of problem who wants to truly be healthy again !

It was through her work that we figured out I needed back surgery ( which really helped). After that she has helped me to readjust my muscles from years of overcompensating for my back issues. She has been doing dry needling therapy for several years and now treats the facia which has worked wonders. I no longer have sciatica. She is kind, caring, and willing to learn more about something to improve her patients care. I highly recommend Lisa as a massage physical therapist (and helps with the metaphysical if you are into that as well. )

I can only speak in depth about my experience, but I have spoken with a multitude of other patients who have experiences around negligence, overpriced care, and "one size fits all" approach to treatment plans. I was very hopeful about partnering with Dr. Bluett. My quick health background: I have had health issues for 10 years or so. I have confirmed MTHFR mutation (homozygous C677T), have diagnosed Endometriosis (3 surgeries), removed gallbladder and appendix, genetic thyroid disorders (suspected hashimotos, historical hypothyroid), eating disorder (recovered now for 3 years). I have worked with multiple healers/mainstream doctors/naturopaths/etc.I consider myself very involved in my health, researching about the body, hormones, etc. and I have a strong foundation of health due to my journey in trying to find my own health. DR. BLUETT / BLUETT INTEGRATIVE HEALTH BULLET REVIEW: I gave 1 Star simply because Dr. Bluett is certainly very, very knowledgable about health and wellness especially when it comes to the intensive understanding of hormonal pathways / mutations. I took away 4 Stars because of the following: - My first 1-hour session with her was spent entirely with her showcasing her knowledge of MTHFR, the hormonal blockages that can happen in a body and why. While this was very interesting to learn about, I wasn't looking for a teacher; I was looking for someone to review MY specific health case and create a plan based on my history. This is not where she excels or even performs at a satisfactory level. She will impress you with her knowledge and get you excited about the information. - I filled out a lengthly intake form that she had well before my appointment and during my first appointment not one piece of information was reviewed. She hardly even looked through the important pieces of info in there (ie: medical history, mental health, etc.). She focused the whole time on educating me about MTHFR. She did not review, address, or incorporate my medical history into her plan of action. - Her plan of action included 5-6 new supplements. I had a terrible reaction. This would have been caught had she applied my background with Endo, blocked detox pathways, etc. - MOST IMPORTANTLY: I had a major surgery in April, I saw her in June. I told her I had that surgery, the information was in my medical packet as well. I had blood in my urine in May (doctors knew this, and I had 3 UTIs post-op, suspected catheter side effect). I saw her in June and had -again- blood in urine. Not sure why as it should have been gone by now, and she was slightly concerned. Gave me urine cup to take home. Blood in urine continued. Did at-home urine test: blood, UTI marker, etc. Dr. Bluett had me purchase Willow Bark for Pain and a concentrated herbal capsule for my suspected UTI (that was now unattended to for 10 days. I had blood in my urine and suspected UTI for 10 days before she even started to treat). She says to update her in a couple of days. I do. I do not hear from her. I hear only from front desk. She is out of country for 2 weeks, without *any type of doctor to refer me to for help during this time.* Again: a vacation is fine, but to leave patients without a proper substitution to go to for medical help when they are mid-treatment is irresponsible and negligent. I ended up with severe kidney pain, nausea, fevers and more....a kidney infection. I went on intense antibiotics and have been navigating the side of effect of this negligence ever since (it is September) due to the progression of the UTI into a kidney infection.
