This school is quite possibly one of the worst you could find, especially it being a private…read moreschool. From the uncaring staff to the decaying building and clear lack of organization skills, this school is truly not a good choice. The staff do not care about the children and some of them make it quite clear that they hate the students, not to mention how some of them are inappropriately involved with minors, mixing themselves with parties thrown by the higher grades, or look at the students in a sexual manner, and that's just talking about the "education aids" who are meant to take care of the children during their breaks. The people who actually run the school vary from egocentric to absolutely a horrible choice to work with children, often mixing both. The school's "anti bullying policy" is a lie, considering that they do not do anything about actual bullies and do not keep anything students who are forced to confide in them about their mental health private, as they told the students they would. They actually seem to be quite comfortable in lying, considering they lie on open doors days to families visiting about the building to make the school seem more appealing. It is doubtful if the people in charge have any sense of shame, considering they make no efforts to listen to valid questions or requests from both parents and students, lie often times and perform clear favoritism for french or rich people, holding them up with more appreciation when considering who to let study in there, and performing clear favoritism between the class of students who paid more and less when the international section was more expensive. The school has many gaps in the schedule or difficulty organizing and they removed the extra languages years ago, under the pretext of having "not enough money", despite the building being falling apart and the tuition fees being extremely high and rising. The school is also not accessible for kids with disabilities, whether mental or physical, and is not a better choice compared to other French schools in Toronto , considering they have nothing that sets them apart positively, but do in a negative way.

They had an vested interest in our success and instilled a sense of hard work and fun into our education. When our son was to start JK this past year we looked at a number of public and private schools to find something that mirrored our experience. We were very lucky to have stumbled upon Olivet. The sense of community, strong emphasis on being a good kind person, small class size and importance placed on outdoor learning had our attention. We went for a tour and were welcomed with open arms. In a city like Toronto and the large class sizes in our public schools with so much attention in "checking" boxes and treating all children the same we were very happy and impressed with the culture and principles practised at Olivet. I strongly encourage any family contemplating an alternative to public school to invest the time to tour Olivet. We are very happy with our decision and our daughter will be attending once it is her turn.
