We were thrilled to sample a number of their vintages and take a few bottles home with us. We were hosted by Kara and Mike Dunn who were both enormously generous with their time and knowledge. We felt right at home with them. It was amazing getting to see and learn about a small but highly-acclaimed winery in an up close and intimate setting - truly a unique experience! The wines of course are legendary, but I fully encourage others to come to the winery itself and pay these folks a visit. They're incredible people making incredible wines providing an experience you'll never forget.

While visiting Fort Worth, my friends and I had the opportunity to try Cade wine at dinner, and it was exceptional. It was so smooth and beautifully balanced that I made a point of visiting the winery while I was working in Napa so I could purchase a case to share with friends at an upcoming celebration. The winery itself is absolutely beautiful, perched on a hillside with stunning views. Unfortunately, the customer service did not match the quality of the wine. When I arrived, I followed the sign instructing guests to wait to be seated. I stood there for about ten minutes while an employee made eye contact with me multiple times and walked past without acknowledging me or even offering a simple "I'll be right with you." Eventually, I walked inside and was greeted with, "Are you here to buy some wine?" The interaction felt dismissive from the start. I explained that I wanted to purchase either six or twelve bottles of Cade. Before I had even decided, I was immediately quoted pricing in a way that made me feel as though it was being assumed I couldn't afford the wine. When I responded that I would take a full case, the tone of the conversation changed completely. Suddenly I was warmly invited to stay for a tasting. I left with the wine because I truly love it, but I also left feeling judged based on my appearance. I had stopped in while working and was wearing jeans, a work polo, tennis shoes, and driving an older work vehicle. Whether intentional or not, the experience made me feel that I wasn't considered the "right" customer until it became clear I was making a significant purchase. Cade produces an outstanding wine, and I sincerely hope every guest is greeted with the same warmth and respect--regardless of how they're dressed or what they're driving. Great hospitality should begin the moment someone walks through the door, not after they've opened their wallet.

Kendall took us on the lookout area and pointed out the vineyards in which the grapes were grown to produce our wines. We were then invited into the beautiful tasting room where we enjoyed exploring 5 of the Outpost wines. Kendall is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Outpost Wines as well as their incredibly talented winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Every wine we tasted was world class and the stories behind the wines we will treasure for a lifetime. My favorite wine of the tasting was the 2023 True Vineyard Immigrant. It exhibited great structure and finesse with loads of dark fruit. It paired beautifully with dark chocolate. We loved our visit to Outpost Wines. The memories created will be cherished for years to come.

Their stars are the big bold cabs priced in the $100 range and we tasted both the current release, 2017 as well as the 2016. Their was also a light and fun Gamay in limited quantities and a hearty zin. Tasting fee of $45 is waved with three bottle purchase. It's worth the long slow drive up the curvy mountain roads for the view alone and host Brian couldn't have been more welcoming. This is most definitely a destination winery and their max group is 6 people. Given the limited tasting slots you must plan well in advance if you want to experience this one of a kind spot

With our pourings Sonny regaled us with the history and specifics of the winery and terrior of this vineyard... we took a tour of the premise and Sonny explained the equipment they use (it being high tech,) the lovely crush pad, and wine cave. The tastings are superior, well finished and the varietals presented are worthy of a taste and buying. The Merlot Rose and the Merlot were what I bought and am looking forward to returning. I'll add I work in the wine industry for near two decades now and I don't give my accolades easily.

First, we had to "climb" the mountain to get to its secluded location. Then you're in for a surprise when you walk in. It's like walking into a cave. We visited on a super foggy day. The silence was almost deafening. Coupled with the fog, I seriously felt like we were in the middle of peace and serenity. Jake did an amazing job of showing us around and the Bravante way of wine making. We loved his warm energy. The wines here were amazing. We have done way too many tours on this trip and had stop purchasing wines at the last few tastings but we had to have some Bravante wine shipped home. Not to mention, Bravante is owned by two women! Girl power. The private tasting was absolutely amazing. Definitely a must-see when in Napa.
