Look what you can buy here!!
    Michael J.

Usually some of the cheapest gas in town. Added bonus, you can buy a My Pillow here too!!! Ugh

Hand bags so you don't have to touch pump
    Emmy C.

Used to go to another gas station a block away but this one feels cleaner and the gas is reasonably priced

actual price at pump for credit card users are 20 cents per gallon higher than the sign on the street

    7-Eleven - slurpee cheers!

    7-Eleven

    (5 reviews)

We took our kids to Mexico a few months back, and one day, I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita…read moreand my toddler immediately said, "I wanna drink that!" I thought, fair enough, and he got a virgin strawberry margarita, setting the precedent that when Mommy and Daddy get special refreshing daytime drinks, Leo B. asks for one, too. Which is why, during a Sunday afternoon stop at M. Special a few doors down, I made a quick trip to this 7-Eleven to buy my son a Slurpee. I think this was my first time buying a Slurpee in my adult life. I hadn't realized there were so many flavors, or that the smallest available size was a medium. I settled on an orange pineapple Slurpee and ran it out to my child. (I'm afraid I didn't spend any more time browsing the 7-Eleven for Yelp review purposes, but I'm guessing it was similar to other 7-Elevens.) Surprise surprise, he loved it. Look, is it the best move to bribe your two-year-old with fluorescent orange sugar ice just so you can drink your beer in peace on a balmy, beautiful afternoon? Yes, absolutely, it is. We did take the precaution of telling him Slurpees were a Santa Barbara only treat (never mind that there's one right next to his school), but really, no regrets.

Anybody who has followed my reviews for any serious amount of time knows that Santa Barbara is my…read morewife and my favorite getaway spot. It's very much our home away from home and where we escape to when we want to decompress. I can safely say that I know State St. pretty well, and it's always interesting to see when businesses are added or deleted from the browsing lineup. I'm confused, though. How is this place not on Yelp already? *scratches head* This 7-11 location has been open for approx 2 years and is located on the corner of State Street and Ortega St, right next to Antique Alley and across the street from the Paseo Nuevo mall. Honestly, almost all 7-11's in the USA are pretty similar. Nothing really makes them stand out. What makes this place shine is its location. As everybody knows, State Street is lined with all sorts of boutique stores, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. And some of them can be pricey. Its also a VERY touristy area. Until recently, State St. had both a Rite Aid and a CVS for people to duck into if they needed snacks or sodas. With Rite Aid closing, however, this 7-11 fills a needed gap. The location is small without being too small, and it's bigger on the inside than it appears. You'll find all the items you'd expect to find here are reasonable prices. And hey... sometimes you just NEED a Spicy Big Bite or a Slurpey in your life, even on posh State St. Am I right? The location is always busy, and surprisingly clean, and the employees are usually friendly. A solid 3 stars for here; but I can't help but toss in a 4th for its super convenient location. This spot is a prime example of why Yelp needs to allow half-star ratings!

The Point Market - The place must be run by Millennials: Who cares if the firewood gets wet? We must protect the La Croix at all costs!

    The Point Market

Apparently, The Point Market is a Santa Barbara-area mini-empire. I didn't know that before last…read moreweekend, and I doubt that knowledge will ever be useful, but I'm spreading and immortalizing it forever (or until Yelp dies), and who knows? Maybe some of my readers will find that information useful. The gas is a ripoff, but you wouldn't stop here for gas anyway. The bathrooms are clean, which is probably why you stopped here, especially if you're like me and you didn't get enough sleep so you were downing caffeinated liquids like crazy all through your drive and your bladder isn't what it used to be. Did I mention they're clean? Yes, I did. There are two of them, and they're single-user, so you don't need to worry about waiting for the men's or women's room to free up while the other one sits idle. There's no code; there's no key attached to an oil-funnel. Nope, you have to tell the cashier all the way on the other end of the store that you need to use the bathroom, and he'll open it remotely. The snacks are a ripoff as well, but not as much of a ripoff as the gas. There's a huge selection of everything, so if you're going for a beach outing or park picnic, you can stock up on random stuff here, especially if you're bringing along one of those friends who can't picnic without her 100 Grand or specialty coffee drink or macadamia nuts. Return access to the freeway is also pretty simple, so this might be an ideal place for future planned bathroom stops now that Pea Soup Andersen's in Buellton has closed! (I'm so sad about that.)

For management:…read more Great coffee and location. However 5 mins ago I got a coffee and used 2 cups seemingly glued together, couldn't pull the two cups apart so just used 2 cups as one. Didn't have time today to sit there and wrestle them apart, tho I'm a 200 lb rock climber and it shouldn't have been so hard. At payment was TOLD "I charged you for two cups" by the woman working there. I assumed she meant for two cups (like a 75 cent surcharge for the extra cup) but realized she meant two cups of coffee after. Um. The wrongness of this should be evident, but here's a couple versions that would be less egregious: Even "I'll have to charge you for two cups of coffee if you don't separate the cups." Or better, don't charge a person for two cups of cofffee who got one cup of coffee. This is charging for an empty CUP something like 3000% of the cost of the cup for the cup, and that is extortionate, even if the scale is small. This is absolutely unacceptable policy, if it is policy, and needs to be addressed, whether it is or not. Great location though! Also, "I charged you for two cups" is inaccurate is misleading if you charged me for two coffees. That is the necessary language.
