She was terrible on suction and I could tell Dr Thomas was getting aggravated with her. She barely told me anything after they pulled it on what to do once I got home. She shoved gauze in my cheek, missing the extraction site completely. When I left the building, I had a giant piece of tissue, blood, and tooth bone all mixed together in my cheek that I had to spit out. My tooth wasn't easy to pull kind of giving me some trauma on how heavy handed they had to be with it. I guess if I could choose to be knocked out for an extraction, I will do that. I don't really want to go through that again. Everyone else at his practice was nice and comforting. But I will request that Vanessa does not have anything to do with my teeth. She was not friendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there.

Dr. Nick overall is a decent dentist - not the worst, not the best. At the end of the day, this office does the bare minimum and it is up to you to find out what your insurance will cover before your visit, as they will not take any responsibility for providing you with accurate information. My wife and I had been going to Dr. Nick for several years and recently transferred our kids to his office from their pediatric dentist. I brought them in for their first appointment, and was told their x-rays would not be fully covered by our insurance. I didn't check with their previous dentist or our insurance company before this appointment (falsely assumed Dr. Nick's office would help with this), and could not remember when the last time they had x-rays taken. I told them to go ahead with the new patient x-rays with the understanding they had checked with our insurance company and it would cost us around $70 per kid out of pocket. At the end of the appointment, I was surprised to find I owed over $300 out of pocket for the x-rays and other procedures, but I figured this was probably more of an insurance company issue, and kicked myself for not contacting their previous dentist to have their records sent over. About a week later, we received a bill saying we owed Dr. Nick another $200. I called the office and was told our insurance company didn't cover everything from our last visit, even though I was of the understanding the office staff had given me accurate information on my out-of-pocket x-ray expenses. I expressed my frustration with being essentially charged over $500 for 3 teeth cleanings because the office did not take the time to discuss their treatment plan or provide accurate insurance coverage information BEFORE the visit. The staff member explained it was my responsibility to contact our former dentist to obtain their records, and I was also responsible for contacting my insurance company to confirm our coverage. Would have been good to know it was up to me to get this information when we booked the appointments 6 months ago. I ended up sending them the money for the additional $200 they said I owed, and included a note with the payment asking them to cancel all of our future appointments. What happened next is why I am writing this review. The office manager called me at 7 p.m. the next week but did not call to apologize, reduce the charges, or try to keep our business. Instead, she literally called to argue and shift the blame for the breakdown to me. She reiterated they had no responsibility to obtain previous dental records or verify insurance coverage before a visit, and this was my responsibility. When I repeated my dissatisfaction with having to pay over $500 for a teeth cleaning and my frustrating that we did not over review any treatment plans before the visit, she told me she reviewed our files the night before our appointment and assured me they were one of the most affordable dental offices in town. No apologies, no adjustments, no regrets.

The lady who cleaned my teeth answered all my questions, specifically about how I could do a better job. Minten also answered all my questions. I had a lot of questions about the procedures and costs associated with the crown, etc. They did an excellent job on my crown. The crown was apparently hand-made and looks exactly like a real tooth. No one can tell the difference, even when I point it out. The procedure went about as well as getting a crown could go. Of course, I had orthodontics for six years, and I'm familiar with the dentist's office, and I consider myself a pretty damn good, high-pain threshold, patient patient (yes I said patient patient). There was a billing issue that I wish would have been handled a little differently. It occurred mostly through form letters, and I guess I would have appreciated something more personal. They also answered a bunch of my questions about which electric toothbrush to buy, and cited the research to back up their opinions.
