Cherry Hill dental is one of the newest and nicest dentist offices in Columbia, MO. Their facility is clean and beautiful and spacious. not only were they right on time...I was a couple minutes late and they got me RIGHT in the door. on top of, what seems to me to be, the most Hi tech tools in the industry, their service was extremely professional, yet just personal enough that you can tell it's family owned. on top of all of that, I do not have insurance, and their pricing was EXTREMELY fair. I had a terrible experience with this dental office and will never return. Before my appointment, I was told they accepted my insurance. After endless phone tag and vague answers, it turned out they did not -- something that should have been clear and confirmed upfront. Communication was consistently difficult, and getting straight information felt like pulling teeth (no pun intended). Worse, procedures were performed without clearly explaining what was being done or obtaining my informed consent, including treatments that were expensive, unnecessary, and painful. I felt rushed, pressured, and completely disregarded as a patient. Overall, the experience was stressful, disorganized, and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. I went in for dental implants and paid $40,000 before any work was done. I went in again and again and they couldn't find out why my dentures just did't fit. They finally decided to start over and they still could't fit my mouth with implants. I never saw the same denist. They were still trying to fit my implant dentures when I went in for more procedures. After the next appointment I was escorted out and I asked if these were permanent dentures. The said yes and I said but these don't fit and they aren't a full set of dentures and they said bye bye. I'm still thinking that they would finish making dentures. About a month later I called in for an appointment and went in and they would't let me see a denist but they let me talk to an office manager who told me I wasn't a patient anymore. I cannot emphasize enough how much better off you are going anywhere else for dental care. While the dental staff are kind and the office itself is beautiful, the billing department is incredibly predatory and will find every possible way to take your money. I visited Cherry Hill Dental for an emergency tooth extraction. Upon arrival, I was told that Blue Cross Blue Shield was out of network and that I had to pay $250 upfront before being seen (this was not the cost for the procedure). No one clearly explained what this charge covered, but I assumed it was for X-rays. I was then told I would have to pay in full out-of-pocket for the procedure and be reimbursed later by my insurance, something I've never encountered before, even with out-of-network providers. After calling my insurance, I learned this was completely false. Blue Cross Blue Shield confirmed they do accept and process out-of-network claims directly, and that Cherry Hill's policy of requiring full payment upfront is their own decision, not an insurance requirement. I went ahead with the procedure and paid in full. The billing department assured me they would file the claim so my insurance could reimburse me. Weeks passed with no update. When I contacted my insurance, they had not even received the claim. After over a month of calling Cherry Hill repeatedly, I was told multiple inconsistent excuses before they finally mailed the claim, despite telling me several times it was submitted digitally. To make matters worse, the claim they eventually sent requested reimbursement to Cherry Hill Dental, not me, even though I had already paid the full amount. When I called to question this, the billing department told me there was "nothing they could do" until they were paid. I could he believe my ears, they already had been paid in full! This office is deeply dishonest and should be avoided at all costs. Their billing practices are misleading, unethical, and designed to benefit them, not their patients. Before booking an appointment, I urge you to read their Google & Yelp reviews (the few that haven't been deleted). You'll see many others have had similar experiences. I WAS mutilated related to their need for generational wealth. I have permanent nerve damage along with losing faith in someone who I believed was looking after my best interests. Broken or missing implant cover on lower, right eye tooth. Will the implants ever be a "tighter fit?" I'm experiencing a massive uncomfortable feeling, since they're not a tight fit. They feel like they're moving all over the place, at all times. They feel like they're made of glass & if I bite too hard, I will break or shatter them. Why did the packing/cover come out/break from the bottom eye tooth? I still cannot eat meat, anything crunchy or chewy, like a substance that requires a lot of chewing, to break up the food, so I can swallow it. Cannot fathom the thought of eating an apple of anything crunchy, for fear of breakage/loss of entire "tooth or implant." Still biting my tongue, multiple times a day, when eating or just talking. I do not have a full set of teeth. Missing molars! Why did the first day take TEN hours, when I was told it would take only SIX?!?! - [ ] Never offered an apology, much less an explanation - [ ] "Dr Tony" was finally brought in, on that first TEN HOUR DAY & was EXTREMELY mad, frustrated & seemingly FURIOUS at his son, who seems to be far too young to be doing this kind of skilled work - [ ] During the initial consultation, with the very young "Dr Adam" there was NEVER any mention or TRUTH told about extracting my existing teeth. Only that I would be awake while they "pulled" my teeth. - [ ] I was lied to about the process. Never, under any circumstance, was I EVER told that they would be sawing my teeth out of my face. I was only told, by "Dr. Adam" that, despite my MASSIVE fears, that I would be "awake" during the extraction of my remaining teeth, before the placement of "temporary teeth" - [ ] "Dr. Adam told me that I would have ONE set of temporary teeth. I ended up have 3 sets of temporary teeth, before the "final set" was placed, EIGHT months later. - [ ] I was never seen by "Dr. Tony (the owner & self professed top 1% expert in his field) until something "went horribly wrong the first day, during the extraction"... again, I was never given a reason as to why or what went wrong, making my 6 hour "visit" (which seemed more like a conviction) ten hours, but, I was most definitely charged for HIS level of expertise. (Which I have no idea who assigns the level of expertise, since HE is the 'founding father' of this process) - [ ] I was initially told that I would have an extensive discussion with Dr Tony regarding how I wanted my teeth to look, when they were finally finished & ready to be placed, but, that NEVER happened. It's been 10-11 months since my first appointment and I still have never met the man, to have a conversation. The only time I ever saw him (and not introduced) was the first day, when everything went horribly wrong and took FOUR hours longer than I was originally told. And during that time, he was horrifically rough in my mouth, rude to me & to everyone involved. I'm past 9 months into treatment & still have this yet to be resolved. I've paid over $50,000 and countless downtime because of their failures. I wish I would've headed others advice and taken my issues elsewhere. I'm simply at a loss. This was all self pay, as my dental insurance () only paid $1500. The positive feedback I can provide is that the office staff, hygienists and assistants are all absolutely incredible. I think 288.00 is excessive for a person to take one X-ray and be told I need a filling and a new crown. I was quoted $106.00. My math seems to indicate you still owe me a 182.00 refund. Update: went to another dentist and he said I dont even have decay like I was told. I was told I would need filling AND the new crown by Cherry Hill. He is doing my crown for 1100 total. His office also told me they hear this a lot from former Cherry Hill patients. I decided after a long discussion with my wife that It was time to get something done with my teeth. I hadn't gone to the dentist for probably 20 years. I was a grinder in my youth so they looked like a 95 year old man's teeth. So, we decided to get full mouth implants. Dr. Tony, and his "very experienced" team insured me that they will make sure there isn't going to be any pain (I was very anxious about it) so they outlined the whole process step by step. So, I then got 25 teeth pulled with no pain, numb as could be. Along with them knowing I was anxious Dr. Tony's son came in, who is also a dentist, and lighten up the mood of my experience with his humor, (you need to watch that one) I've never had a better experience in a dentist office in my life. I suggest you turn around and find yourself a different dental office. If you are reading this review after attending Cherry Hill Dental I would imagine that you are caught up in the same swindle as I found myself in. You had some simple dental work done. They told you how much you owed out of pocket before the procedure. You paid this amount and received the agreed upon service that day. Months later you probably received a bill for 1-2 times over what you already paid out of pocket. As any intelligent adult with health and dental insurance you know that it's a flawed system and tough to predict. However, you trusted in the expertise of Cherry Hill Dental to get it right before taking your money. In exchange you were subjected to surprise bills and ridicule when you questioned the practice. They will blame you. They will blame your insurance company. They will even blame your insurance salesman? I'm surprised they don't blame your mom for good measure. They will complain about insurance company reimbursement rates and everything in between. At no point do they say, "Hey, maybe we should take a look at our operations and see if we can make this process better." "Maybe we shouldn't charge so much." "Maybe we should get better at estimating out of pocket costs." I will also warn you. If you leave a negative review they will call you and offer to reduce your bill if you take it down. The negative reviews you will read are only those of us who refused to give into this strong arm tactic. You'll be subject to multiple text messages from Debbie's ("Billing Coordinator") personal cell phone. Email's alluding to being turned over to collections. Dr. Mary is very personable and informative on every detail during your visit. The office and billing staffing are NOT. I was told, and provided email confirmation that Cherry Hill would match the price another dentist had provided. Day of the filling I paid the amount that was matched and had the filling completed. Several weeks later I received a phone call stating I had an outstanding bill, despite me paying in full on date of service. I have had the same conversation with at least three staff members, each who say they will follow up with me, yet the issue is not resolved. If you are thinking of getting the Smile Saver program, think twice. They will tell you that the fluoride is included with the package, yet will bill you for it. Again, I have had the same conversation with multiple staff about this issue, yet nothing is resolved. The department does not seem to effectively communicate with each other, as this problem should not occur, let alone multiple times about various issues. I came in on an emergency visit and was pretty nervous about going to a Dr. other than the one in my hometown. However immediately upon entering, I was greeted by the front desk with a smile! Your staff refused to let her have an appointment after wprk hours telling her it was for school children only. Update: I had to get more dental work done at Cherry Hill. The dentist and assistants are great at what they do and finish procedures in a timely manner. Each time I have gone back I am greeted with a smile and they know me by name. The prices are a little higher than normal but that is because they do absolutely exceptional work. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone in the Columbia area looking to get quality dental work done I fell and broke my front teeth on a Saturday and was able to get in to have my teeth fixed by Tuesday! I am new to Columbia as a travel nurse and I had a minor scratch that I wanted to have polished. Whomever did the initial "polishing" thought my crown was a different material and she used an incorrect polisher, which removed the glaze from the front of the crown leaving it more scratched, dull, and inconsistent in color. I think they realized their mistake as Dr. Tony had the dental assistant take pictures for reference and informed me what the risks were of trying to repair the damage. He brought in his tools specifically for a zirconia crown and re-polished it removing some of the scratches. He told me he wouldn't leave the room until it was all fixed, except that he did and the dental assistant had to call him back in to re-address some issues. Curiously, I was not charged for this entire ordeal adding to my suspicion that the staff was aware of the dynamics of the situation. He informed me that regardless of what he might do it will never look the same and he is correct. Even brushing my teeth now dulls the luster as the glaze has been disrupted. I returned to the office to have it polished yet again and was charged $150, even though this subsequent dulling is a result of improper treatment of the crown by their office. After the polishing Dr. Mary did not ask me to look at her work. I requested a mirror myself and in better light I saw there were areas that required attention. She returned to the room, polished a small area and left once again without asking me if I was satisfied. They did however quote me about $3,000 to replace the crown, which may I remind you was damaged by their staff. I had to keep from crying in the office and the entire experience has been extremely stressful with a lasting impact on my self-esteem. I'm considering traveling back to my cosmetic dentist in Michigan to have it worked on at great cost to me, but I do not trust anyone in this office as there was no compassion expressed, nor regret for the mistake. I would expect a business to work with a patient to remedy an issue which they created, rather than hold the patient financially hostage. Our daughter went to this location in Columbia Mo. Last year with a diagnosis for root canal procedure. Looking for a second opinion went to a chain dental office and after more xrays and wasted time. We decided on going back and letting them proceed with the procedure. After the process both of us was stunned at the results pure and simple. She had a front tooth that was a little crooked, and the end result was amazing like in a few hours her tooth was straightened a beautiful crown was capped. I had the worst dental experience ever here and if I could give it zero stars, I would. Went in for a routine cleaning and to establish care as I had just moved to the area. I was charged TWO visit fees of over $100 EACH. I asked for more information on Invisalign and without asking me any further questions or providing me with informational resources, they just proceeded to fit me for the retainers, take 3D pictures of my teeth and xrays (which I also had to pay for, seperate from the two visit fees). Then told me I would only need them for roughly 3-6 months, as it was cosmetic, but it was still going to be about 8 thousand dollars. Oh, and the best part about the whole thing.... they did not even brush or floss my back teeth, just tapped them with the brush and floss and called it good. Have always been a little anxious going to the dentist, but came here recently to get my cleaning and exam done and ended up having two cavities. The doctor did a great job cleaning my teeth- very thorough and gentle. I had my cavities filled the same day which was a painless experience- the laughing gas and massage chairs definitely didn't hurt! Look beyond the beautiful office. Went for an exam and was told I had 6 cavities. A financial consultant came in to discuss getting all of my cavities fixed for $1400.00 under general anesthesia. What dental office has a financial consultant? That was a huge red flag. I didn't trust their opinion at all and told them I wanted a 2nd opinion. They refused to give me a copy of my dental xrays without paying a $25 fee. I went to Dr. Bohon for a 2nd opinion who filled only 1 cavity. In regards to her message about my review (see below). Do not take her reply about other dentists confirming the decay in my teeth seriously. She tried to get me to remove this review. Said yelp only allows negative reviews. I urge you to check the fitered reviews which allows you to see every single review. I told her that within the last 6 years I have had two cavities filled, and I have seen at least three different dentists because I've had to move cross country several times. As a result, none of the THREE dentists confirmed the 6 cavities that she said I had. Not to mention that cavities were filled several years from each other. I initially went to Cherry Hill for a chipped tooth, which required a $100 deposit to schedule the appointment to check the tooth. Then I made an appointment to get it fixed as well as have a routine cleaning, which required a $50 deposit to schedule. During the cleaning, it was established I needed to get my wisdom teeth out, which required another $100 deposit to schedule. I was assured Cherry Hill would keep track of all of my deposits and refund whatever excess amount there was once billing was final. It should have been a simple math equation, however, there were a few hiccups along the way that made for additional appointments that made Cherry Hill continually say they were waiting for final total amounts, rather than do it on an appointment by appointment basis. Those "hiccups" included an infection three days after my cleaning, which Cherry Hill said was coincidental and not actually caused by my cleaning. When I called to ask about the pain in my mouth, they prescribed pain killers over the phone without actually seeing me and told me to irrigate my mouth at home, saying it would get better in a day. It didn't, so when I called back, they said they could increase my pain killers, even though prior to this they said I shouldn't be in pain longer than a day. I asked to be seen instead. When I got to their office, the dentist looked in my mouth and said "holy crap" due to the swelling and ulcer that had formed as a result of the infection. She prescribed me antibiotics right away, offered to call Dr. Tony back into the office to get my wisdom teeth out on the spot. We decided to wait a few more days, but moved my wisdom tooth extraction up significantly. They told me my tooth extraction would be simple judging by my X-rays (and due to the fact all four of my teeth were fully erupted) and said an associate could to the top and Dr. Tony could run in to do the bottom. Unfortunately, my roots were larger and more curved than they expected, and Dr. Tony ended up breaking off a piece of root in my mouth that took 20 minutes to dig out. Still, it was all over. I received my explanation of benefits for every single appointment I had with Cherry Hill and compared how much I paid versus how much my insurance said i was responsible for and Cherry Hill had overcharged me $172.80. When I brought this up to their office in January, I was told there were certain exams not covered, then I was told they were covered, then I was told they were waiting on other claims to come through, then I was told they had to resubmit (which I found out they resubmitted saying my teeth were impacted -- they weren't and insurance downgraded it), etc., etc. etc. Every time I called, the story changed. The office manager Anna was extremely rude and defensive, so I ended up talking straight to the financial person Debbie, who was much more kind, but could not keep her numbers straight. She made multiple mistakes saying they owed me $300, then I owed them $300 and eventually came to the correct number (after multiple phone calls and me walking through every EOB with her) and got me a refund. It was a 5 month nightmare and I am so, so glad to have it be over with. Would not recommend this place. As soon as you have an issue, they turn defensive and mean. Debbie was the only person I spoke to who ever apologized for the inconvenience and actually tried to figure it out, despite her mistakes. I have been going to cherry hill over the last 4 years. They are always professional and polite. I had a crown split and fall out about a week ago and they replaced it completely free of charge yesterday. No pain today and crown feels great. Also their new building is really nice and high tech. read more

**they hid my review on fb so I'm leaving this everywhere else** DO NOT GO HERE. I had a root canal and crown put in about 3 years ago by Cherry Hill Dental. When I first had the procedure done it took HOURS, was an extremely painful process and cost about $1500. In December my crown randomly fell out. I called their office and they said they were currently in the middle of a law suit because of some faulty materials that they had been unknowingly using for crowns, and my crown happened to be done with those materials. They said they would replace it for free, so I drove all the way back to Columbia (I don't live there anymore) to have it replaced. I was in the chair for close to FOUR HOURS while they continually numbed me up and drilled away. My gums were sore for almost two entire weeks afterward, to the point where I couldn't even chew on that side. It was equally as miserable of an experience as the first time I had it done. They offered me a warranty that cost somewhere around $200 and after already having paid $1500 in the first place I declined. After all, these new materials were supposed to actually work and stay put. Less than six months later I'm eating lunch and here comes out half of my crown!! It completely broke in half. I called their office and was really upset because I could not understand what would make this crown crack that way if it had just been done so recently. They rattled off a list of things like "gum disease, opening bottles with your teeth, bite strength etc." and told me it broke due to one of those reasons. Well, none of those things applied to me. Since I didn't buy the warranty (I guess you have to PAY in order for them to stand behind the quality of their work) they wouldn't cover the cost of the replacement. I had the crown fixed by a dentist in the Kansas City area and upon seeing the crown the dentist immediately said he wasn't surprised at all that it broke. He said that the crown was made with the softest/most fragile crown material and that it was only half the thickness that it really should have been. He said that he was honestly surprised it lasted me as long as it did, which wasn't long at all. To top it all off, since the crown was put in (and once replaced) so recently, my insurance wouldn't cover the repair. When this office was going over my cost options with me, I expressed some frustration that this was happening because I had paid close to $1500 to have the crown put in. This confused them, they could not figure out why it would cost that much as they bill insurance $1600 for a root canal and crown. So basically, either Cherry Hill charged me incorrectly or they're charging insurance companies insane amounts of money which makes the patient portion higher than it should be. The dentist in Kansas City fixed it for me, almost painlessly and under an hour. The fact that Cherry Hill Dental screwed up TWICE and then refused to stand behind their shoddy work and instead tried to blame ME for my crown breaking is ridiculous and honestly so unacceptable. I obviously will never be returning but I will also be HIGHLY recommending that NONE of my friends/family in the Columbia area go to Cherry Hill Dental for dental work. What a disappointment and ginormous inconvenience. read more

I went here for an exam and cleaning years ago, and they told me I had 8 cavities that needed repair and I should have all four of my wisdom teeth out. I went to Dr. Molachers office, and he let me know that I had no cavities, and I only have two wisdom teeth (which didn't really need to be pulled). My current dentist tells me I have the best teeth he's ever seen and I'll probably never have any issues. I don't understand how Cherry Hill Dental is still in business. read more

I moved out of state over 4 years ago and I can still count on the staff of Cherry Hill Dental to help me. I needed new Vivera retainers but my new dentist office tried to talk me in to something different and then when I insisted on the Vivera, I was told I would have to get re-scanned. One call the Cherry Hill Dental and all my troubles were resolved. Every person I spoke with was helpful and polite. If that person didn't have the answer they either got me to someone who did or they got the information for me. I was happy with my experience at the Columbia office all throughout my Invisalign experience and still to this day I'm a happy customer!! : ) read more
