upon sending in half of our application, we were summarily rejected for "not making enough money." let's make one thing clear, we would be making in excess of 4-5 times the monthly rent in income, so that is straight up bull to begin with. furthermore, we hadn't even finished the second half of the application because you have to have each party (my fiancee and myself) apply separately. I moved from Summit Chase in December. I was there for 3 years and would've stayed longer had it not been for a job transfer. I rented one of the townhomes on top of the hill. At first, I was really nervous about being all the way up at the top because of the snow and ice but the maintenance team kept the roads so clean- I never once had a problem! I did see the management turn over a few times while I was there but there was one lady I came to recognize- Heather. She was always very pleasant and accommodating. I've read the two previous reviews and given that they were written 2 days apart and use the same language, I'd have to say they're kind of fishy. Perhaps someone didn't receive the return on their security deposit they thought they should have. I, myself, did not have any problems when moving out or having my security deposit returned. I lived at Summit Chase for almost 3 1/2 years before moving out. I started there when Dina and Mary were in the office. They both were super friendly, helpful and professional. Residents even brought them treats and stopped by just to talk to them. Mary let me move in two weeks earlier than my lease due to some complications in my previous apartment free of charge. At this point in time I recommended Summit Chase to people I knew. I really enjoyed the view, the clean and renovated apartments, fairly priced rent, quiet neighborhood, plentiful parking, competent maintenance, gym/pool facilities, etc. Five stars. Then, management changed. Over the course of my time there management went severely downhill. Initially you were a person and were cared for, but after the newcomers you seemed to be just a paycheck and that was it. They aren't accommodating at all and won't do anything for you. One of the girls, Heather, is completely fake and you can see right through her. I even sent some family friends there to check out some apartments (not mentioning my opinion of Heather). When they returned they told me that they were very turned off by this woman Heather who seemed fake. When I moved out I was hesitant to let them determine what they would give me back from my security deposit (they don't do a close out walk through with you). Three weeks before moving out I handed them a letter requesting a close out walk through with management to determine what would be taken out of my security deposit. They told me it would be no problem. A few days prior I called to verify and was told that the manager would be out of the office that day, but Heather could do the walk through and let me know what would be deducted. On the day of the walk through, Heather came to my apartment and did a walk through. She spent maybe 5 minutes at most looking around and as she was leaving she mentioned that she wasn't able to do a walk through to determine what would be deducted and the manager would have to come do it (this being my last day in the apartment and after I handed her the keys). I expressed to her that I obviously had been mislead about the situation, but she didn't care. There was nothing I could do at that point since I had essentially moved out. I was lucky I took photos and a video of the apartments condition prior to her visit. Pros: Abundant parking Far but not too far away from things to do Quiet area Speedy maintenance Nice apartments for a reasonable price Scenic view Cons: Management not giving a damn about you or willing to work with you The fake person there - Heather Make sure to take pictures and a video of your apartment right before you move in and right after you move out for any damage/problems. **** Legacy Bay in Binghamton is their sister facility. I am not sure why anyone would complain about Heather. She has been the most pleasant and accommodating person!! She always goes out of her way to make sure I have everything I need. This place is filled with pleasant employees and I would recommend Summit Chase to anyone. read more

I am really tired of Hearing how Heather is a fake person. Let me just put that out there .... I lived at Summit Chase just short of a year.. here are my PROS! Clean. Quiet. Ample parking. Great Neighbors. Clean Gym. Clean Pool. The landscaping was always beautiful. The Roads were taken care of in the winter. You could throw away as much garbage as you wanted. The apartments themselves were great. The Carpets were in great condition. I loved having a washer and dryer in the apartment along with a dishwasher! Central A/C and Heating! Whenever you called about a problem, maintenance was right there to fix it! As for Heather.. she was nothing but sweet to me! Everything is written in your lease, and as long as you're following the lease, Heather is a doll ! We moved out a little bit before our lease was through and she made sure there was a tenant in our apartment so we didn't have to pay to finish out the lease. She even told me that if I wanted to bring my kids by to swim after we moved out, we could. I believe when you give respect, you get it; and she was nothing but nice to me! She's just there doing her job. Diane came into the office during my stay here too - and she was nothing but sweet as well. I loved the management. They weren't a problem to me. The only problem that I did have .. was the leaking of the windows during the winter time. I really think they need to figure out what's going on there so that stops happening.. it really wasn't a big deal for me since I didn't have anything in the windows... but, a lot of other people were upset. read more

Summit chase is one of the more decent apartments for the area. I really liked having a garage, washer/dryer, garage, and central air. These things are all hard to find in an apartment in the area. However the management at Summit Chase completely ruined my experience there and was the sole reason of me moving out. They show no compassion and do not care what your situation is. I was a great tenant. Rent was always paid on time, I kept the apartment in great condition and was a fairly quiet tenant. I was very patient with them when it came to replacing my AC in the height of summer. I was also very patient when I smelled a gas leak in my apartment and had to find elsewhere to sleep as I was concerned about possibly not waking up. Took them a couple days to figure out the problem. The main lady in the front office has the fakest attitude and was very snobby and they changed managers a couple times throughout the two years there. I was very turned off by their unwillingness to help so I decided I would start looking for a new place. I found a new place that was available Jan 1st and my lease was up Dec 31st. I had already planned my trip back home for the holidays and wasn't returning until the third. I asked management if it was possible to stay in the apartment until the 3rd seeing that it was the holidays. It was a flat out no. They wouldn't consider it or show any compassion. They expected me to pay $870 to stay an extra three days. I voiced to them that I had installed an electric garage opener out of pocket and I have always been a good tenant and that it would be nice to get a little help. That didn't change their minds one bit. I ended up calling their corporate office. The corporate office took down my info and never called back. So I called again and they took my info again and 5 mins after I receive a call from the front office who had already shut me down. I understand a business is about money. But all in all I will never rent from this particular company again. They have no compassion for their tenants. All you are is a check to them. read more
