I recently toured an apartment at The Summit in Sausalito and had the absolute pleasure of working with Kait, one of the leasing consultants. From the moment we met, I was impressed by her professionalism, deep knowledge of the property, and warm, friendly demeanor. During the tour, I pointed out a few things in the unit that needed attention. As soon as we returned to the office, Kait took detailed notes on everything we discussed to ensure nothing was overlooked. What truly stood out to me was her follow-through--every single thing she said she would handle, she did. No reminders needed. That kind of reliability is rare! I've moved around quite a bit for work and have dealt with many leasing agents over the years, but Kait has truly been one of a kind. Renting can often feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with management offices, but my experience with her has been the complete opposite. Over several visits and a long thread of emails, she remained incredibly patient, responsive, and kind--even with all my questions (and I always have a lot of them!). Outrages rent hikes annually for rundown old small apartments(. carpet in many apartments washer/Dryer units are decades old, the same maintenance problems persist under latest management change at present time. Tenants pay outrageously high maintenance cost on top of rent 300-400/mo add on to rent, and it is only going up, highest in Marin per small apartment unit. Common utilities gas charge for heating the pool was $60 per unit ( over 200 here, do the math ), accept the pool is unhealthy and dirty, see dead gecko in the water, Jacuzzi smells and water is green with leaves at the bottom. Terrible experience trying to tour. Upon arrival, apartments were gross and unkempt anyways.

I moved here & even with a few maintenance issues, I feel like I won the freaking lottery. My view is phenomenal. My weather is cool when others are scorching. I have more amenities than I could ever possibly use in a single day & the staff is so friendly. As far as those maintenance issues I mentioned...they are right on top of everything which is a far cry from the last place I lived. So blessed!! read more

Over priced, poor upkeep and maintenance. Pool always full of leaves and dirt, Garbage on trail . Garbage areas overflow. Really small units for the price. Maintenance slow to do repairs if at all. You are told they are working on it but nothing gets fixed. Very frustrating and disappointing. Loud neighbors makes it hard to open windows read more

Finding a proper apartment is never easy, but we're truly grateful to have found Summit at Sausalito. It's a quiet community with reasonable prices and an amazing view. Throughout our home search, Kait was incredibly helpful--she patiently gave us several tours and took the time to answer all our questions in great detail. After we moved in, a few maintenance issues came up, and the maintenance team handled everything promptly and efficiently. They don't screen their applicants and they don't maintain the property. What other bad reviewers reported is all true. If you come for a visit anyway check out these things for yourself. 1. The pool and gym area have been shut down several times, rats in the filter. 2. Gym bathrooms are marked 'out of order' because they don't clean them. It's just like a crime scene in the gym bathrooms. Most recent pool shut down was done by the health department. 3. Pay attention to the place when you tour, especially the hallways and stairs, back stairs is like the worse part of SF. They don't clean anything. 4. They use plug-in air fresheners to hide the smell = rancid hallway carpet. Those air fresheners are covering the smell of mold and dirty smelly hallways. Yea mold. Health department was up here citing them for mold too!5. Would you want your children to inhale mold, mildew or play in a pool that was shut-down by the health department? 6. We saw police coming here to arrest tenants after the new owners started letting anyone move in. We saw a man removed in handcuffs from one of the buildings. A week later he was back living here. Next week cops were back again. 7. Management rarely responds to resident concerns 8. The view is beautiful but so is the view from Alcatraz. Don't be fooled. They are slum landlords getting subsidies from the government, and they still overcharge. They just want the money. This place is in a portfolio run by investment firms. 9. We moved out. Do yourself a favor and don't live here. 10. The positive reviews of Summit at Sausalito on Yelp prior to September 2021 are from a period before the current ownership or from new accounts recently created with no other reviews or a very small number of recent reviews. The recent positive reviews are probably fake. Check it out for yourself. 12. A place that is really and truly great to live in and providing good value and service to tenants would have several positive reviews since the new owners took over in fall of 2021 by real accounts that have a decent account history. Terrible Customer Service and response. They have overcharged our rent for three months in a row - still unresolved. The manager doesn't reply to emails. Our intercom hasn't worked for three months. A Fire Exit door has been blocked for three months. They seem unconcerned. There were several maintenance issues when we moved in, but those were repaired quickly by Kyle - who is great. read more

You've probably heard the story. This is the location atop Marin City, but for some reason, they refer to it as Sausalito. Anyway, the place is old, dirty, and has an unpleasant odor. The staff is not very friendly either. The photos may look nice on the web, but the unit you'll likely get won't be the same, or they might even ask for more money. In short, I recommend avoiding this place and looking elsewhere. And yes, they love to keep your deposit. read more

Calvin does a great job, great maintenance team, responds after hours if plumbing emergency and craftsmanship top notch

We choose this place mainly for the pool, hot tub and the Gym facility. The health department of Sausalito city closed it for farther notice. I called the office and they have no updates. Stay away and by the way the rent is expensive because of this extra facility. read more

Erika the maintenance supervisor is fantastic. I had a problem with my sink and dishwasher. She got on the problem right away and fixed the problem. She did some of the work herself and also coordinated two plumbers. She is very personable and professional. The Summit at Sausalito is fortunate to have her. Five stars!!! read more

My partner and I tried applying, never heard back from a leasing agent despite many assurances and a $250 "refundable" deposit paid ahead of time. We've since found another place, and have not been able get our deposit back. We've called for weeks now, and every time we reach the central call center we are assured a leasing agent will get back to us to close the application and refund our deposit. We've not been called back once. I advise against dealing with Summit at Sausalito. Dealing with them is highly impersonal and unprofessional. We want our money back. read more
