I got a crown in November of 2025. 2026 I had to leave them because Summer Dental is not in network with my insurance. The end of May I felt a pop and thought my back molar had gotten out of its socket, so I went to my new dentist in the middle of June. When he looked in my mouth he stated that I had, in fact lost my crown. He asked when I had gotten it and I told him last November. He said go back to where I got the crown. I went to Summer Dental and the dentist there asked me what happened to the crown. I told him I don't know . My dentist said I may have swallowed it. The Summer dental dentist said I thought I was your dentist. I said you were but you don't take my new insurance. Things seemed to go downhill from there. He walked off I didn't know if I was done or if he was going to have a new mold made. Then one of the front ladies came and asked me if I had insurance. I told her yes but y'all are not in network. They still tried to charge my insurance and wanted to charge me for the crown. My mom has had crowns that are 40 years old. Crowns do not come off less than a year of having one put on. So needless to say it is July and I still don't have a crown on that tooth. If you need crowns do not go there. They obviously do not know what they're doing and do shawty work. This was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had with a dental office. From start to finish, the level of professionalism was lacking. I was prescribed medication that was never sent to my pharmacy. Prior to my appointment, I was informed that I would be receiving oral sedation due to my documented dental anxiety, which was discussed during my initial consultation. However, when I arrived for my procedure, I was told there was no order for oral sedation in my chart. After this oversight, I was encouraged to proceed with nitrous oxide instead. Shortly afterward, the dentist himself stated that nitrous oxide would not be sufficient given the severity of my anxiety--something that had already been established at my first appointment and was the original reason oral sedation had been recommended. Rather than offering a solution or taking responsibility for the error, the interaction became uncomfortable, and I was ultimately told that I should find another dentist. As a result, I left without receiving treatment, without the antibiotics I had been prescribed, and without any plan to address my dental infection. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of communication, preparation, and willingness to resolve the situation was extremely disappointing. As a patient seeking treatment for a painful dental issue, I expected a higher standard of care and professionalism. read more

had a root canal done in Feb 2024, the dentist there left mid procedure to do another procedure on another patient. had the grafts, and the mouth divider sticking out of my mouth for at least 30 minutes he also was about the same age as me, 21. He left without warning and just started helping some old lady with her denture problems. I was sitting in the chair with stunts sticking out of my open mouth. there was an older dental technician who comforted me as I already had dental anxiety. I forgot her name but she was an angel. She even told me he should not be doing that. When the dentist finally came back he did not change his gloves, just got right back to work. he also bent the tip of the drill stating he needed to. I had military dentists look at my jaw and determine he absolutely messed it up. I paid 700$ to try to fix my tooth. summer dental stated I had a giant infection eating my bone below my jaw. when I saw the military dentists they said I now have 2 giant infections eating the surrounding teeth, gums, and my jaw. if I did not have medical insurance this would have been well over thousands. The dentist left this clinic immediately after my procedure. They also did not fit my crown correctly. Had me come back a day later to put it on, same dentist put it on BACKWARDS and made it extremely too big. The military dentists literally said "please tell me a military dentist did not do this, as they would need to be fired immediately" this dentist has ruined my entire right side of my jaw, Which has affected how my jaw bites, closes, and how I eat. when the military dentists pulled my tooth they had to saw the crown off for 20 minutes before they finally Got it off, and saw that it was 2x the size of my other teeth, and my upper tooth is now rotted due to continuous rubbing against the crown. So now I have to see many different specialists because now it is a jaw and gum and tooth issue. this dentist was obviously not qualified. Thanks summer dental, for ruining my life when I trusted you guys with mine. Maybe don't have traveling dentists. As they seem to not be good. My mother also had problems with her children there. read more

I am not happy at all with the care I was given. I had all of my teeth pulled and dentures made. I am yet to get them fitted correctly. I was told by one lady these were only temporary teeth and once my gums healed up I would be fitted for my permanent dentures. Only on my next visit I was told that the previous lady had given me incorrect info and the teeth I currently had would be my forever teeth. I then proceeded to let her know that they would not stay in my mouth without glue and I couldn't bite anything without them coming out. She then proceeded to place what looks like pink hot glue in them and said that was all she would be able to do. I have 2 different insurance companies that have been billed a fortune I'm sure for teeth that I am not able to keep in my mouth. So for my experience alone I would not recommend this company to anyone. Update: I have been contacted by them and they are trying to correct the issue and so I will keep everyone posted on the outcome. read more

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!! I was scheduled for IV sedation to have several teeth removed, get a deep cleaning, and have some cavities filled. They called this morning to tell me that the hygienist wouldn't be there tomorrow. When I asked them what we needed to do because I was supposed to be under IV sedation for all of it. They informed me at that point that the doctor that does sedation isn't going to be there tomorrow either and they had intended to have another dentist pull my teeth without IV sedation (Basically, they were going to get me high on halcyon to where I couldn't advocate for myself and then pull my teeth without the agreed upon sedation). I clearly canceled my appointment and have no intention of letting them come anywhere near my teeth ever again. Now they're holding my records and my dentures, that have already been paid for by my insurance, hostage. And they were probably gonna try to collect on the sedation they didn't give me! read more

I do not recommend this businesses whatsoever. They are unprofessional and rude. my daughter went to Summer dental to have her teeth, extracted and dentures to say the least of this was the beginning of our nightmare. After having her teeth extracted they gave her the wrong dentures. She ended up with multiple sores and ulcers in her mouth when I realized they gave her the wrong dentures and they hollered at her and somehow put this on her. This was a nine month two over a year process for her to get the correct dentures, and the correct fit we ended up eventually going elsewhere for them to get her the correct fit ...then they said she had poor hygiene and that's why she was getting sores in her mouth then we had to take her to another oral surgeon. He said she did not have poor hygiene that they were using the lowest grade material on her dentures and this is what was causing the sores , and that they're the ones who had not been sterilizing their instruments properly and this is what was causing sores. I would not recommend anybody taking their pet there to have their teeth cleaned. Let alone a human being. This place needs to be closed down or at least under investigation through the Health Dept, which is my next step. I am a college student who was looking for a new dentist to use while I am at school. It has been less than a year since my last dentist visit, and even though the staff told me multiple times that I had great hygiene, they told me that I had 14 cavities. I do not have significant history of cavities and I found this hard to believe, so I decided to get a second opinion. At the second place I went, I was given a free consultation with free X-rays, and then told that I MIGHT have one cavity. Furthermore, entering Summer Dental I did not feel welcome. The first girl who cleaned my teeth was talking with her friend in front of me about my X-Rays in a way that made me ashamed which was entirely unnecessary and then didn't even finish cleaning my teeth. My experience here was less than satisfactory and I feel very deceived and taken advantage of. read more

had a tooth pulled that was infected on Monday mwc location . although there is much to talk about the main thing is when I left they said that there would be a prescription for me at the pharmacy I needed to take I guess that had to do with healing . on Wednesday I called the pharmacy to get the price and they said they were not able to fill it because of the instructions the doctor had on them. so I sent a text to the dental text number explaining and never rec a call or text . then Thursday no one called and the pharmacy said they can't get them to respond either . Friday which is today I decided to call the pharmacy on a recorded line and they again told me they won't give them to me because they couldn't understand the doctors instructions which were for me . 5 days now which a hole in my mouth and possibly infection more probably because of the lack of the meds I'm supposed to be taking . zoomed down there to the dental place at 330 to find that they close at 1 pm so now 3 MORE DAYS TILL MAYBE GET SOME MEDS ! that's crazy .. first time I ever went there was 3 years ago on a tooth extraction and was treated well , this time was the complete failure .. read more

don't know where Summer Dental in Shawnee, Oklahoma, got good reviews, but I can tell you the truth, and that is that first of all they pulled the wrong tooth for an extraction. I went back and they pulled the right one and I made a special point of emphasizing that I wasn't given any pain medication.. it's 8:32PM still no pain prescription called in to Walgreens here in Shawnee... I had the 2 extractions done before 2 The receptionist did not, and was not going to relate my message to the manager, untill I showed back up there. The manager made a dpecial point of telling me twice that she was going to make absolutely sure my prescription for pain meds was called in. Did not happen. Amazing... in not a good way. I will never go back to Summer Dental in Shawnee, and I can not recommend in good conscience, that anybody go to Summer Dental in Shawnee. Sorry, but they dropped the ball way too much for "Professional Dentistry." read more

I went in because I needed partials. The dentist told me my insurance wouldn't cover it and it would be $3000 so don't even bother calling to ask. I went to Comfort Dental in Okc and it turns out my insurance completely 100% covered my partials. The dentist at Summer dental wanted me to pay cash. read more

I have had good experiences with my hygenist at this location. However, I am so disapointed in the experience I had with the dentist today. I waited over 20 minutes for a 9am appointment, Dr. Brown - the dentist - did not review what he was going to do he just numbed my mouth and moved to the patient in the next cubicle. After finishing with that patient, he came back and proceeded to get ready to work on my teeth WITHOUT washing his hands. When I asked, his response was that he had hand sanitizer. To be fair, he did wash his hands when I persisted. I had to ask what exactly what he was going to do and then the work was done without any explanation of what was happening, no update or information such as, we are done drilling and now I am going to do the fillings etc. An assistant came in halfway through the procedure and did not introduce herself or even let me know that she was there. She did not wear a mask and her hair was long and loose so it hung in my face every time she bent over to do anything and she sang - poorly - the entire time. They both seemed to be in a rush - which could have been avoided if they had gotten me in on time. I would not reccommend this dentist and will not be seeing him again under any circumstances. All other things aside, having to request that a dentist wash his hands when I witnessed him coming directly from having his hands in someone else's mouth is unacceptable, gross and just poor practice. read more
