After doing some research I found that since I have a low risk of dental problems I can typically wait two to three years between x-rays. It has only been 1 year since my last x-rays. I've been a patient there for probably 20 years. Why didn't she tell me they don't do root canals!? Well, that's not their normal conversation. I let her know that was poor customer service. now that's cost my husband days waiting for this appt, when he could have gotten in someplace where they do root canals. She argued with me and wouldn't let me finish a sentence. I hope Dr. Drew sees this and reaps her a new attitude. Customer Service is priority and on top of it, she gladly removed my next appt. Not a pleasant experience for my spouse recently or myself a few years ago. After numerous visits they were unable to get the temporaries to fit well enough to enable him to eat. ( which is the reason he went). The dentist suggested they go ahead and make the permanent dentures. He wasn't willing to trust they would fit. It took them 9 times to deaden me before pulling a tooth that just needed a cap. Said they were trying to save me money if that tooth later failed. But pulling that lower tooth which did not hurt, was not infected, was not loose, and only needed a crown, they left me with no way to chew As my upper tooth had no tooth to meet. So we have spent a lot of money and still can't can't chew. We are retired and it was all a lot of pain with no results. Don't go here. I miss Dr. Stobbe.

I have been trying to get in to Aspen Dental as a new patient since around the beginning of May. The first 3 appointments were rescheduled the morning of the appointment for the following week, with the reason being they were short staffed. The last appointment they called to reschedule yet again, the morning of the appointment, with the reason, again, they were short staffed. By now the tooth had broken and I related this information to the receptionist. She rescheduled me for 2 weeks out which was this morning. (I have been trying to find another dentist by now, but the insurance we have makes it difficult.) I got a call from Aspen Dental Friday to confirm my appointment, that there were no issues, I would be seen as scheduled, they just needed to go over details to make sure we were all on the same page. I get there this morning only to be told that unfortunately, they don't take our insurance after all, sorry. I have extreme dental anxiety, so just getting myself to the dentist is a difficult experience. They promised the moon and stars when I was making the appointment, but that was as far as it all went. I will tell everyone that if you are looking for a new dentist to look everywhere else instead of Aspen Dental on Kickapoo in Shawnee.

The hygienist was very thorough as she shared what she was doing as she worked, and I was very comfortable as she took excellent care. Xrays were from a top-of-the-line machine, and everything was very clean and looked brand new and quite expensive. The dentist looked over the films and announced that I needed five crowns, showing me two spots on two different teeth. I walked out in absolute shock, and my spouse staggered when I told him what the dentist had said. Considering most of my family needed dentures at 35 years old, I thought that my teeth would be in bad condition, but not that bad. My spouse's dentist has a more conservative approach in saving as much of the tooth as possible, and avoids using a crown unless absolutely necessary. This dentist is good if you like a, very strong approach toward your dental care and can afford to pay for that approach.
