Also the track officials are A plus. They really are welcoming, and it is fun to meet the drivers. It's a family friendly place still. Yet there wasn't many stock car racing tonight. I remember nights of more of these cars. The go karts and modified 4 or 6 cylinder races are boring. That definitely was underwhelming, although the last race was fairly fun. Do I like this place? I've never been to any car meets, roll or drag racing gatherings in Maryland but have in California. Came here on August 10th for Street Car Takeover and it was definitely a lot of fun. Parking outside (grass area) is free and there's plenty of spaces with staff directing you where to go as well. You also have the option of paying to park your vehicle inside the event if you want. I…read moredecided to sign up for Blacktop Bootcamp to brush up on my safe driving skills, especially skid control in less than ideal conditions. I imagined that it would be similar to the driving schools of the past, and as a race car driver, I was skeptical. I took the class and I was so glad I did. Not only do they teach you new driving fundamentals that the books don't teach you, the skills they teach you can be expanded upon beyond the road and onto the track. I never put two and two together on how drastically your basic driving skills affect your track racing skills before this. HIGHLY recommended. I would take it again in a second, was so much fun! I especially enjoyed the obstacle course and the challenge of controlling the skid car.

Not far from Winchester airport, and the downtown area, this is a fun place. Family friendly, as very nice folks, who enjoy a good race. Stock car is my favorite, and this mud track is entertaining. It's rustic but that makes it even better. All of the staff who work here are great. Tickets are affordable, and concessions are very reasonable. As a single dad I appreciate this. Best spot is grandstand under the announcers box. Lots of shade hot summer nights. It's a joy to be back here, and ready for some fast cars close to each other!

I bought a groupon for this place which was still expensive so I wasn't about to not use it. Making an appointment with them took 3 weeks to try to do. Their online system would not let me book anything further than a few weeks out and there was nothing even available. I finally got my date scheduled in June. I got there and the wait was so ridiculous. I would have sat there for 3 hours at least before I would have even been able to get my instructions from the pit crew. Having a timeslot does not seem to mean anything since it pretty much is first come first serve. Why have a time slot to register for if you are not going to follow it. Needless to say, I wasn't about to sit there for that long so I had to reschedule. Rescheduling is not something I was too happy about especially since they are about an hour away. By the way, I'm so glad I did not sit there and wait b/c I would have had to reschedule due to the weather. So I go home and try to reschedule. Nothing was available until September. I couldn't get myself on the waitlist through their online system and had to call them to do that. Luckily I was able to get something for July and they do give you enough notice so you can plan ahead. On the day of my new appointment, it was still a pretty big wait but definitely not as bad. I was shocked by the additional $30 I had to pay for tip and taxes. Luckily, groupon credited me $15 for this since they do have it in their fine print but you only expect this with restaurants. Thank you groupon for the credit! As an fyi, insurance is extra too. I didn't get it but if you do get into a crash, you may be screwed. The pit crew, all volunteers, were extremely nice and funny! They did make sure you understood what you had to do and that you were comfortable. Short people, you probably will want to ask for some sort of towel or cushion so you can sit closer to the pedals. Driving the car was a good experience. The first few laps were a bit scary but you do get used to it and want to go faster than 200mph. You don't have to worry about changing gears which is nice for those of you not comfortable driving stick shift. I do wish I could have gone a bit faster. I will say the funniest part of this whole day was that I got into an accident (the other driver's fault) on my way home and not at the track.

Takes all of the fun out of it when you're constantly having to pay. I DID have fun, and I enjoyed myself quite a bit, but the price is really excessive. Probably won't ever go back unless it's with a group of friends and we just feel like blowing a lot of money. I feel terrible for parents because a couple of kids could easily burn through $50 in a couple of hours here.

Everyone was super friendly, had a great time walking through the pits and looking at the cars before racing started at 6. I was surprised at how many people were there. We used to bracket race in Jacksonville, NC and I would guess they would maybe 20 cars and 100 people there on a busy night. Not sure how many people were there but I would guess at least 200 cars racing and 1000 plus people. Super busy super fun!
