Dentist - Post this review…read more Good news first. Brooke, my hygienist was good. She was kind and did a good job cleaning my teeth. Before that however, I felt insulted for this reason; Lisa, who appears to be lead administrator came out to my car with a folder under her arm telling me that the check in rep said I wanted to see a copy of the Privacy Notice. I corrected her in saying, no, I want a copy of the privacy notice. You had me sign stating I'd received a copy of it so I actually wanted a copy. Lisa stated she doesn't give copies. I told her that the paperwork that you had me sign states in fact you gave me a copy. She then took the folder from under her arm and stated, "I'll let you read it, it's about 50 pages but then I'll need it back." Of Course this was insulting and she knew it. My appointment was at 3:00 pm and at this point it was 3:45 pm. She presumed I wouldn't read 50 pages, nor did I have time to; she still refused to make me a copy. Be aware as they mixed the HIPPA required fork on the same page which is probably illegal. I left it alone not to get them upset knowing they still had to work on my teeth. After my appointment, I was taken to a private room to discuss the cost of work that the dentist recommended for me. In the process of explaining to me the cost, Lisa, yes the same lady stated that the work would cost $2108.00 and $1200 is 50% of which I'd have to pay. I told her that that's not 50% and she went on to debate that it was. Shortly thereafter, she showed me more costs referring to them as being 50%. One was more like 80%. Again debating with me. You must understand why getting this simple math right was critical. She got angry with me and stated "I'll just talk with your wife about it on tomorrow." What! I left. Lastly, Batesville, MS is 49% black, and 49% White. Yet, Dr. Thomas W. Hodge has 7 employees in his office, all white females and not one black employee. He makes 8. It seems that the good doctor loves the black dollar but doesn't want them employed at his practice. In fact 100% of the 6 patients waiting along with me were black. Hopefully he'll make some adjustments to represent the community and his well insured, well paying blacks. Not sure how he'll explain that but me and my family won't be returning.

I came in first thing in the morning for a single filling while my brother had a couple more…read more Didn't have to wait nearly as long as I thought, my bro was called first and soon I was up. I was lead to my seat by the nice gal, she even asked me what i'd like to watch on the telly. I picked CNN while I got the numbing swab and shot. In hindsight, maybe watching CNN's talk on Ebola wasn't the smartest choice, felt a bit nervous for some reason. Anyway, I waited till the dentists finally returned after the numbing was in full effect on the upper part of my mouth so they could get the drilling under way. It only took a little while and the filling was over before I knew it, I completely forgot the drill was even involved. I dare not imagine what life was like before the numbing procedure, my mouth is still a bit stiff as I type this on my phone. So anyway, the gals and guys at Hodge's do their job proficiently, area was kept neat and clean.
