When I moved to Oxford, MS from Hernando, MS, I researched dental providers in the Oxford community to see if they accepted my dental insurance, Delta Dental for Veterans. Oxford Dental said that they were an in-network provider for Delta Dental, so I made an appointment. I agreed to the tentative dental plan procedure Oxford Dental offered. I had two crowns put on. I paid $352.50 for the crown on one tooth and $382.00 for the crown on the other tooth. Oxford Dental advertises same-day crowns; however, the dentist put on temporary crowns. The temporary crowns fell off, and I had to go back to the facility to have them put back on. The dental assistant gave me four packs of permanent cement to take home, so I could put the temporary crowns back on myself if they fell off again. It would have caused serious problems if I used the cement. I am not a dental professional and have no knowledge about dental care. The second time the temporary crowns fell off, I went back to the facility to have them put on. I asked the dentist about Oxford Dental's same-day crowns advertisement. She said, "Well, I wanted you to have the porcelain crowns because they are stronger. Those are made outside the facility. The ones we have here break very easily." She made this decision without discussing it with me. The temporary crowns did not cover the whole tooth, and I experienced a great deal of pain during the 2-week period that I wore the temporary crowns. Prior to putting the temporary crowns on my teeth, the dentist referred me to an endodontist to have a root canal. The receptionist stated that she sent everything the endodontist would need to his office, including my dental insurance information. I paid the endodontist bill and was told that Delta Dental would reimburse me. I assumed that I would be refunded 50% because the endodontist was an in-network Delta Dental provider; however, that was not the case. The endodontist was not covered under my dental insurance and I had to pay $1400 for the procedure. Delta Dental reimbursed me $200. When I mentioned it to my dentist she said, "Well, that's just the way it is." The day I had my permanent crowns put on, the Oxford Dental receptionist informed me that my dentist was not an in-network Delta Dental provider, and that I owed and additional $500-$1,000 more for the two crowns. She said she would call me and let me know the exact amount. After reading Oxford Dental reviews, you may be swayed into believing that no patient ever had a negative experience at Oxford Dental. Realistically speaking, I would have liked to have read reviews from a variety of perspectives and experiences before making an informed decision about my dental care provider. The purpose of a review is to help prospecting patients make informed decisions about their dental care. I really love our dentist office. We rarely wait, they help me and my family with all of our dental issues recommending products and treatment plans, and the atmosphere in the office is so nice and comfortable. The ladies at the front desk are most helpful, and the practice hosts fun events like movies for clients and other fun things to foster community. After the passing of our dentist several years ago, we were floundering trying to find another office that we liked, and we have definitely found it in this clinic. Every visit has been tailored to my needs, and any concerns I've had along the way have been addressed. This is the "Chick-fil-A" of dental offices. Everyone is super friendly and you can tell they're really happy to be there. Highly recommend, especially for anyone who has had a bad dental experience in the past, you'll see going to the dentist in a whole new light. And they're open on Fridays! read more

I haven't been to the dentist in years. I was never scared of the dentists but because of the length of time in between my last visit I was nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was welcomed like family. AC took her time explaining all of the details to me and they didn't rush through my visit even though I could tell they were busy. They took the financial part very seriously for me when I explained my budget. They called me before I even showed up and told me exactly what I would have to pay and they were no surprises. We came up with a treatment plan that works for me and my budget. I felt like I was among close friends here and I couldn't have been more comfortable. They asked me what my goals were for my overall oral hygiene and took them seriously. I wish I would have done this sooner. I won't go anywhere else again. read more

Well I paid $7000 to have a ton of work done in October 2017. (Halloween) Dr. Huggins did supposedly all of the work in one day. Never pay before you get your dental work done. My crown has come off within 7 months. And I can't wear my partialand I hurt worse than I did before I went. I'm absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. And so I recorded him one appt bc he had lied about fixing one tooth. So since I told him I did that he made me an appt for..I thought was to correct his mistakes..instead he humiliated me and I am trying a new dentist. I would never recommend going to him for extensive work. read more
