Very disappointing experience with Sullivan Place. Management constantly adds unexpected additional charges that were never clearly explained. Even after moving out, we received a long list of extra fees that seemed unreasonable. Communication with the management is very difficult. They are not willing to work with tenants or offer any flexibility, and it feels like they are always looking for ways to charge more money. Overall, the experience felt very stressful and unfair. I would recommend future tenants to read every detail very carefully and be prepared for many additional charges. read more

TERRIBLE! 1. Residents are FORCED to use a unheard of internet provider at an OUTRAGEOUS cost! 2. Management is rude and often ignores messages from residents not to mention you can never get a hold of anyone to speak to face to face. The General Manager doesn't even give out a direct email address to talk to her! 3. DIRT everywhere! In hallways, and floors not to mention there's trash being thrown all over the trash rooms! 4. Horrible security! Front doors are not very secure. Hardly any cameras anywhere! Security guard plays on his phone all night! 5.. Restricted dog breeds are all over the Community and I receive a unjustified and wrong notice regarding a potential pet in my apartment! 6. Residents are dirty, loud and management does t do anything to rectify the issue! 8. My shower had BLACK MOLD when I moved it and I clean my apartment regularly and is still an issue I'm having to this day! 9. My sink still has black stuff coming out of it as well as my toilet! 10. My washing machine and dryer are old as dirt! I only live here due to the proximity to work! AVOID AT ALL COSTS On a positive note, they do a good job at negotiating a rent increase but it's a struggle to even get that! You'd think that a tenant that's been here for 5 years and is in EXCELLENT STANDING wouldn't have to put up with ridiculous rent increases every year!!!!! read more

I lived at Sullivan place for about 9 years and just moved in September, 2025. It is one of the best places to live in Alexandria. The management team is amazing and the manager - Patricia - goes above and beyond to help residents resolve whatever issues exist. Madison and forgot her name but the white lady in the office are wonderful and very helpful. Ricardo the maintenance lead and the entire team are fast, professional hardworking, very knowledgeable and very helpful. There is an onsite security guard who I saw making rounds throughout the buildings. It is a clean and secure luxury apartment. I did not experience the challenges I see others write in these reviews. I have lived at Sullivan Place for several years and have seen many changes including improvements to the property along with the turnover of some solid employees. When I had a maintenance issue recently that I believed needed more attention Ricardo, one of the Maintenance Technicians, stepped up for me and took care of it. I knew he was super busy and had a full load of service repairs but he honored his promise to circle back with me the same day and address what may have been a small issue to someone else but to me, my family and my children was a big safety concern. It's service like this from Ricardo that lets Me know that I made the right decision to renew here at Sullivan Place when I could have moved anywhere else. Thanks Ricardo ! Sullivan Place is a great option for you to live! Considering the other options in the area this place in my opinion ranks the highest. Lots of places in Alexandria/Linconia have major pest problems and just bad management in general. Sullivan place does not have any pest problems and for the most part the staff is really friendly. The amenities are great with a big pool, a nice gym, and once it's renovated a basketball court too. Maintenance is always quick with their requests. Still yet to fix my dryer tho There are restaurants walking distance. I should mention the initial move in process is VERY STRESSFUL and it is VERY HARD TO CONTACT anyone, like legit you always go to a bot. My advice: call a UDR representative. If not, you'll have to be here in person. To be fair I feel like it can be stressful with any new apartment move in so all in all I would give sullivan place 5/5. read more

This place is one of the worst apartment buildings I've ever lived in. The application process was an unnecessary nightmare. The apartments are poorly painted as a way to cover everything before you move in.. my first day there, I couldn't even use the kitchen because the unit had roaches. I was stuck with the roaches for a week and still find some. They have a monthly pest service fee. The parking is awful and no cameras or security available even though they charge you $100+ per parking spot. Good luck having friends or family over, they'll have to pay and may still get their car towed. The hallways smell like weed. Their parcel system is atrocious so I recommend getting a P.O. Box. They force you to pay for internet that can't even be used to watch tv. The gym is so hot, it's impossible to work out. read more

This is a fine place to live. For me it was always a temporary (not long term) living situation. It's a extremely large complex. The amenities such as pool, basketball court, gym are fine and maintained. There is a lot of unapproved parking taking place yet the complex doesn't tow. Neighbors are quiet and I rarely see people in the halls. The rates are the same as most places in the DC suburbs. The issue I have with this complex is the banging doors. Every single door - hallway, neighbors, garage- is too heavy and slams upon closing. It hurts the ears. This is so loud and impactful that when my neighbor lets their door slam my home alarm goes off. False alarms are no good. For this reason I don't intend to stay. read more

But if you scroll down and read the review from Geanna, while I did not have the same issues she had, I echo her sentiment about Sullivan Place. I also lived at Lodge at Foxborough in Foxborough, Massachusetts, for three years before here. I lived at SP for four. Geanna is correct that the trash compactor was out for MONTHS as well as the ridiculous move-out requirements! I posted pictures of my apartment in my initial review when I left so you could see how clean it was and still I was charged. They seriously charge you for lightbulbs! They will rake you over the coals if your life happens to transition at a time that does not coincide with the expiration of your lease. It cost me around $7,500 to leave this place because I had to break my lease. The buyout is $3,500 plus two months rent. I tried to negotiate paying two months rent (~$3,700) and leaving in one month (leaving the apartment empty for an entire month so they can re-rent it understanding that this is a business). Nope. It was fine if I left early, but they still wanted the $3,500. The next day I said I would pay the two months, leave in one (like I initially offered) and pay $2,000. Nope! Still not good enough. They would have an apartment available to be re-rented for a month that had already been paid for and $2,000 extra from ONE unit isn't enough?!?!?! It's ridiculous!! UDR piped up here to say that I signed the lease. Yes, I did. Who knows what your life will bring you??? No crystal ball here. I would love to hear from a tenant who signed their lease and opted not to initial that particular section or anything else they didn't agree with and see if they still got to renew. Anyone???? Find another place to live. This is not the Ritz, and it's not the Roach Motel. Luxury is a stretch for sure, but what I personally am offended by the most is the greed here of UDR. It is astounding to me that a tenant of seven years who was never once late with rent, never complained about anyone and, to my knowledge, was never complained about couldn't negotiate a reasonable move-out deal. They ask for your patience and understanding when things are broken for an extraordinary amount of time or upgrades need to be done with no concession in your rent for that, but for sure it is not a two-way street. I lived here previously and enjoyed it. I love the management staff they always do their best to help. The first time I rented I really wanted a loft apartment but had to settle for a traditional one bedroom. I ended up moving a year later to be closer to my job but hated my ultra small apartment. So I took a chance a looked online to see what was available and they had a loft available!! So I moved in 30 days later. I love my apartment but only the complex 3 stars. It looks like outside building and interior entrance and hallways have not been kept. They did however redecorate many of the amenities beautifully. read more

After a year and a half of living here, I would say that this is the LAST PLACE ON EARTH I'd even send my worst enemy. And I've even worked in Corrections. Just saying. The communication by the property is abominable. The best treatment I get is from the occasional maintenance worker - they're the only ones who treat me like an actual human being with a family. I've had to live with my neighbors being raided by the FBI - marijuana smoking IN FULL VIEW that gets ignored by management daily - cigarette smoking that occurs inside units and flows freely into open windows that only gets addressed with "please don't annoy your neighbors" emails - despite the fact that ambulances have had to be called for cigarette smoking related asthma attacks and everything!! They'll spend thousands (literally thousands) to refurbish and redo the lobby - but not one single penny to fix HOLES IN THE FLOORS of the hallways - let alone clean the carpets. Tenants leave full trash bags in stairwells, and let their pets defecate and urinate in the halls and garage without any consequence. Not to mention the RAMPANT theft. This is from the last email I had to send just today: -------------------------------------------- Good evening - I am writing to complain, yet again, about the treatment I've received at SP - currently there is outside maintenance (painting etc) ongoing, and per the emails, messages, and print material given, I had cleared my BALCONY as directed - after which, the persons providing service have ripped off the two screens I PAID FOR (over 85 dollars each) and placed, as well as rendered two ornate and expensive (over 150 dollars each) baby gates completely useless by losing all parts except the actual bars of the gates. At no point was any direction given to clear the window areas of our homes - ONLY the balconies. I will be speaking to an attorney about getting replacements and/or monies in return for the VANDALISM that Sullivan Place has directed against me. In addition, I've taken photos of all of this, and of the incredible mess left behind. I refuse to live like this, and without appropriate recompense, I will be pushed to legal means at this juncture. I will be departing for deployment to Afghanistan within the next 6 weeks, and if by that time appropriate measures have not been taken, I will be requiring that any communication will end up with my attorney, and not my household. read more

I considered living at Sullivan place apartments, ultimately decided not to. The complex is right off the interstate so location is convenient for that reason. It's also behind Panera bread, yum! a con about the location is that it is right next to a gas station, it was pretty noisy when I visited at 10am on a Saturday. the water fountain in front of the property looks like It hasn't been cleaned in a while. the front desk staff interaction was pleasant, I was given a code to the apartment door to tour the building and apartment on my own which was really convenient. The amenity areas look really great, nice gym and basketball halfcourt. Things started to get dark and gloomy as I moved from the front office area closer to the apartment. The light fixtures in the walls are worn and dim. Hallways are dingy. Elevators are okay. the apartment itself had a nice layout, nice updated appliances and spacious. When I went into the bedroom closet I could hear water dripping behind the walls. there was a lot of space. the build itself seemed rather cheap. Ultimately the vibe inside and the apartment was kinda gloomy. it wasn't something that felt like it could be home to me, so I decided against renting! read more

Stay far away! Worst mistake ever! The "luxury" living is short lived. There was constant criminal activity in the garage. Multiple cars were broken into and vandalized. The lights always flickered in the hallways. The management has poor communication and they filed an eviction on me which I now have to get a lawyer to get expunged 3 years later because I just found out. The filed an eviction because they claimed they didn't get the KEYS when I moved out! I have them to Raul the maintenance guy. The eviction is not on my credit but on my rental screening so I didn't find out until 3 years later. Poor management and top notch lawyers! UDR are crooks! Worst mistake of my life! We hated this place so much that we bought a house to avoid having to possibly have this experience in the future. Luxury is a STRETCH by a long shot. Constantly there was something wrong with the building that caused us to believe that it was put together with Elmer's glue and popsicle sticks. Every time it rained there was a leak in the 4th floor ceiling. Everything is really old and rather cheap so you'll experience wet carpets after a good rain from the holes in the balcony doors or the windows because the installation is crap. Expect to also have whole hallways and staircases shut down due to constant holes in the ceiling. Or to come home to blaring alarms and dark hallways because the lights are off due to "rain". Alarms that have been going off for hours and will continue to go off for hours after you've gotten home. The door leading from the garage into the building and the doors leading from the street into the building are ALWAYS broken! So no need to even use your key fob for anything but your front door. So much for security! Then you've got the packages that go missing due to them forcing you to use the parcel pending lockers that seem to always be full so the delivery people just leave packages out in the middle of the floor. The complex is only cleaned twice a week so don't be surprised if that Cheetos bag that your neighbor's kid left in the hallway sits there for a while. Just pray that they didn't leave a full bag of trash (which totally happens often!) The trash compactor? You guessed it! BROKEN. And the move out requirements are crazy. Expect to basically get the apartment move-in ready for the next renters before you can move out. Which makes me wonder if the cleanliness of our apartment was also left to the folks that were leaving instead of professional cleEwwww. Also the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything our neighbors did. And our downstairs neighbors would tell us that she could hear us very clearly walking around our CARPETED apartment. Save your money folks. Our rent was $2,900 for a 2 bdrm w/ a loft. Our mortgage is much better place to be feeding that money. UPDATE: Got a response from "Jody" (who I've never heard from/ of before---must be a corporate rep who probably hasn't been to Sullivan) blaming the residents for the building's shortcomings and claiming they'd wish they had an opportunity to address these things while I was still living there. NICE TRY. These things were reported continuously by numerous residents including myself and never addressed, but thanks for proving to the other yelpers that accountability isn't a UDR standard. Apartment appears nice before signing a lease agreement. I should have done more research before moving in. The walls between units are too thin and you can hear everything from your neighbor's unit. Hear water dripping on your ceiling, trash chute area is full of trash piled up like a dumpster every weekend. You frequently smell pot in stairways. Tenants usually do not pick up after their pets. Pets urinate in garage, hallways, elevators. Rats running around in the hallways. Not worth the rent and fees you pay monthly. read more

Where do I begin?? I signed my lease beginning of May, Move in date was set for 6/24/22. I called a week prior to see if I could do a walk through in advance and was told that because the unit isn't legally in my possession I could not do so and if I absolutely needed to that they would need to change my move in date which would cost me more. They allowed me to view another 1br loft (9sqft smaller) that was vacant back in May, since the apartment I was going for was still occupied. While viewing this apartment maintenance installed new carpet, painted the stairs and repaired all countertops; so I was expecting my apartment to be treated as such. I show up on the 24th at 10am Uhaul and 3 cars fully packed. Was greeted by the office intern with my move in paperwork and keys. I go up to the unit to find my apartment door already opened, so I began recording (see videos Attached on google reviews - this is my initial reaction). Maintenance was still working inside, there was a baby roach inside the sink that we killed with a sticky note (as shown in the video), It reeked of smoke, parts of the walls were yellow from excessive smoking, the smoke detector, window seals and toilet were yellow with cigarette burns on the seat! The floors were dirty with debris in the corners, there were drippings down the walls of the kitchen island, the stairs weren't painted (had paint chip everywhere) and the tub hadn't been cleaned at all. The kitchen fridge smelled horrible and shelves were broken in pantries and closets.This apartment was definitely smaller than the one that was supposedly 9 sqft smaller. I had to break up the video in 4 because the full video wouldn't upload. However, what wasn't shown after I ended the video, my mom took out the sink stopper in the kitchen to find about 50+ roaches sitting inside, she screamed and ran out! If this couldn't be the worse first impression I don't know what is!!!!! I am not moving into no where knowing it is infested with roaches. This apartment building is way to luxurious and expensive for there to be roaches and for them not to clean the apartment beforehand. We then go down to to the leasing office to express in detail what we just saw. We told her that I no longer will be living here, terminate the lease and give me alllll my money back excluding the application fee. She replied that she was just an intern, the other staff called out sick, the managers were in a meeting off-site and she was there by herself. We informed her that this is an urgent matter, and managers still have work to do outside of that meeting that they need to attend to, please connect us to one ASAP! Needless to say, I am homeless and all Wendy Fentem the property manager could offer was to reimburse me for my Uhaul. She spoke to her district manager who offered a 2br 2ba in one of their exterior buildings for a higher monthly payment than what I would have been paying for my 1br loft. The least they could do is match my monthly rent payment, but no they said we'll pay for your Uhaul and basically send me on my way. read more

As long as you sign your name on the dotted line you are fine, try to move out and they will find by any means necessary to charge you, including trumped up charges. I'm a resident here for three months in and have one thing to say DO NOT MOVE HERE. There is constant construction and they never tell you when construction staff will be hopping on to your deck or doing work on your building, the staff is beyond awful, unresponsive and just plain don't care about you once you move in...packages just seem to disappear without a trace, it's overpriced for what you get, everything is an extra fee, call boxes don't work, walls are super thin, don't even think about ever talking to someone in the leasing office once you move in, you just get looped around and around with this standard message, no voicemail. This has been THE WORST experience I have ever had at an apartment complex. UDR should be ashamed to claim Sullivan Place as one of their homes, I've never seen a place more poorly run. I have been living at the Sullivan place for less than a month and it has been pure HELL. Within the first week of moving in I was locked out of my apartment because the electronic key they gave me did not work. Beware when you move in you do not get regular keys you get electronic pieces of plastic that often time die or are malfunctioned. I sat outside on the ground locked outside of my apartment for over an hour waiting for maintenance to come in let me in. When I complain to the office manager Asma she was very dismissive and she "oh sorry it happens from time to time" If that is not enough for the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been living with ROACHES! There is some type of infestation in the unit and the apartment keeps telling me that they are going to fix it by having pest control come, however the ROACHES are still crawling around. It is absolutely DISGUSTING, I even found one in the refrigerator. I've had to throw away all my food that was in the refrigerator and the cabinets causing me to lose a lot of money. I have complained several times to the entire staff including Asma the manager. She is very dismissive and blames the roaches from coming in from outside even though Pest control confirmed there is a problem in the apartment. It has not even been fully a month and I have already seen over a DOZEN ROACHES where I unfortunately call home and sleep. I pay entirely too much money to live with roaches. Asma the manger has not been remorseful or sympathetic in regards to the amount of money I have lost out on or the inconvenience this had caused me. All she says is that they will fix the problem however they have currently not fixed it because I still living with roaches. Do not move here unless you are accustomed or OK with living with ROACHES! I have asked other neighbors about roaches and they said that they've had them as well from time to time! The management is very DISMISSIVE and will not compensate you in anyway if you were inconvenienced such as being LOCKED OUT of your apartment due to a faulty key or ROACHES IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR. I have never lived with roaches and I'm very embarrassed to even have people over. Save your money and look elsewhere don't be fooled by the nice amenities. The WALLS ARE PAPER THIN ..you can hear your neighbors everywhere and on top of all that you'll be living with ROACHES! read more

First couple of years were great. Loved the community and the neighbors. I met some nice folks there, especially during the pool parties they used to throw. Fast forward to my last year, and had such a negative experience I knew I wouldn't renew. The only comfort was the professionalism of the maintenance crew (Alex, Alex and Eber, I think..) Long story short, I woke up to a flooded apartment on Memorial Day weekend (There goes my Holiday weekend). Ultimately, it wasn't fixed until sometimes around August 16th when I advised I would call corportate. A contractor showed up the next day and finally fixing the problem. During that time, I believe maintenance responded up to four times and replaced the carpet twice as my unit would keep flooding. I have all the pics. At the end, what I received was "Thank you for your patience". I will say this though, after I put in my notice to vacate, I received a call from Amera and she offered some type of deal to get me to renew. It is unclear to me whether most folks are getting similar offers during this pandemic, but during the call, when she became aware of the reason I was leaving; in light of such a negative experience, I felt a little bit more could have been done. Last, Jaleine and Arnold from the leasing office were always outstanding!!! Karen on the other end...Well, a resident once posted on the dashboard that they needed a luggage scale for an upcoming trip; I wanted to remain anonymous so I dropped mine off at the leasing office and requested that they contact the resident who had posted the message. I had such a busy schedule that I could only pick it back up on the weekends as I would leave before they open, and come home after they close. When I came to pick it up... Karen's response was, "Come back when Moses here". She made no efforts to assist. In my situation, that meant another week. After that, I would only deal with her if I absolutely had to. Other than that, I enjoyed my time there but couldn't get over that issue. My apartment faced the pool and had a great lay out but was a little bit outdated. The biggest downside was how much noise I had to put up with from my upstairs neighbors. I used to hate him until I met him and found out how nice of a guy he was. read more

One of the best features of these apartments is the ability to customizable it to fit your style. Also, the community staff are responsive to you in a timely manner and try to assist you with any problems that may arise. It is very convenient for those that commute via a car since it is located right off of I-395. Great grounds for walking as well. Would highly recommend to anyone! read more

This property is really as good as it gets. All that's missing is a doorman, butler and live-in maid. I looked at 13 properties and this was by far the best. Not only is the property itself worth the 5 starts but the marketing associate was very thorough and walked me through all the amenities, all floor plans in such detail that more options became available to me that I had not considered. Carolyn was very attentive to what I was looking for as well as responsive and proactive with keeping me aware of other options as they became available. Horrible first impression booking a tour with the leasing office. It's almost as if they don't want business. They were not communicative at all once I arrived for a tour I had an appointment for, did not ensure security of anyone entering the buildings, and were unhelpful in every manner. Virtually gave me access to a floorplan I did not request, and they did not care to answer the phone when I called 4x while still on site. Not sure if the leasing agent I had is new or does not like his job, but this put a nasty taste in my mouth off bat and I wasn't impressed overall...Note: this is the second time me and my boyfriend tried to book a tour. The first time they completely disregarded my boyfriend's request and didn't even return his calls. Pathetic and I will definitely not be recommending...plus the walls were thin and the hallways were dirty. read more

I paid for the deposit and I have been trying for a week to get ahold of Sullivan Place to talk about my refund for the deposit. No one has answered any texts, calls or email for a WEEK. Being a current tenant for 6 months, I have nothing but positive things to say. Just yesterday, I accidentally dropped my keys down the elevator shaft. Had it not been for the wonderful help of Alex and the maintenance staff I would not only be without my car. I would also have the unsettling feeling of my keys being gone. Alex truly came to my rescue. I just want to say being apart of this community has made me feel like family. Being a Florida boy we are all about southern hospitality but to get that care and appreciation from the north. Truly warms my heart. I have lived here for only a couple of months, and it's been entirely during the COVID-19 situation, so I have not met many people/staff, and the amenities have been closed. But I did want to come and leave a review with the one contact I've had with staff since moving in. About a week ago, some rather wild circumstances led up to my entire set of keys falling down the crack to the bottom of the elevator shaft. I figured this must happen sometimes and did not think it would be too big of a deal, so I called the maintenance line and submitted a ticket. (Tip: I don't recommend the maintenance line for something like this. They seemed like basically an off-site call center. But because it's COVID and that was the number posted to call, that's who I called.) A few days passed, and I ended up having to call the main office to follow up, and it seemed like no one had been planning to do anything whatsoever about it and had not contacted me. But bear with me; this story has a happy ending. When I finally spoke to someone who was eager to help me (shout out to Moses), he told me that the maintenance team does not do anything with the elevators, and it would cost $500 to have the elevator technician make a special trip. On top of that, he told me that, if I attempted to use a grabber tool or fishing line or whatever simple thing I felt was needed to reach the 3 ft down and get them, I could be considered in violation of my lease and they might even consider it a crime to "tamper" with the elevator. I understood where they were coming from on all of these things, but it also seemed pretty outrageous that they could not give me some idea of how often the elevator tech comes. Anyway, Moses was very patient with me and talked to me for the better part of an hour about what we were going to do. Eventually, he asked the community manager (I think her name is Amera), and I won't reveal her state secrets, but she hooked me up, and I had my keys the next morning. So, I appreciate the patience of Moses and the action and assistance from the community manager. They ended up doing more than I could have asked for. This resident thanks you. While I'm here, I figured I would review the gym (the only amenity to have reopened so far). The ellipticals are in an upstairs area above the rest of the equipment, and I like that. There are six of them, which is a good number (reduced right now for social distancing, though). The equipment seems really nice, and the atmosphere in the gym is cool. If I could recommend anything, it would be to add some fans in the upstairs elliptical area (ceiling fans or regular fans in the corners maybe). Heat rises, and it gets quite warm and stuffy up there, which is tough when you're already sweating! Overall, I've had a good experience so far with my leasing agent and my apartment itself. I enjoy walking throughout the grounds, especially the courtyard areas with fountains and whatnot. I give four stars because I simply have not been here long enough to know more. read more

Please beware!! This property will milk you for every penny and give you extremely subpar property maintenance and no true concern for residents welfare or their safety. IN APARTMENT: Work orders are completed in a haphazard fashion. I've requested for exposed nails to be repaired only for them to be cutting up my families feet again a couple of months later. Poor workmanship and concern for quality has also let to a serious injury for my daughter... Due to a previously "repaired" soap dish that then broke in half my daughter ended up with 19 stitches and 11 staples plus three weeks of being unable to work based on doctors orders. Sullivan Place felt no responsibility for any of this and refused to make even a minimal effort to do the right thing. Instead, they proceeded to "fix" the soap dish this time in such a way that it was hanging off the wall and is now crooked with putty sticking out everywhere. My daughter has been afraid to use the bathtub/shower in her own bathroom since March 9 and Sullivan Place couldn't care less. OUTSIDE OF THE UNIT There is a serious problem with marijuana use in this complex. During warmer months groups of people gather on the top of the parking garage to indulge and during colder months at least once a week it is difficult to breathe in entrance stairwells because the marijuana fumes are so strong. I know marijuana use is a personal choice, but it's concerning that my seven year old niece must inhale marijuana smoke just to get to my front door. Parking security is also questionable. Within the last month at least five cars were vandalized, hub caps and tires stolen, and windows smashed on a single night. A security guard was obvious on the property for exactly two days following this event. EVENTS: This property is happy to have doughnuts, pool parties and line dancing classes. And I must say the concierge is extremely polite and professional. If only they put their focus on resident safety and doing the right thing instead of charging top dollar in exchange for dangerous and careless disregard of residents' safety and well being, it really could be a great place to live. read more

Look elsewhere for a place to rent. Sullivan Place does not care for their tenants. AT. ALL. Me and the lady are currently paying $1,795 for a 1 bed, 1 bath. Utilities not included. They also tack on extra charges that are labeled as numbers/codes on your monthly statement. When we called after receiving our first statement to figure out what they were for, the leasing office didn't sound sure at all as to what they were for. To add, they charge for being able to use their trash chute which hasn't been working for months - we moved in here in January and was only able to use it for about a couple weeks until it broke. And here's a story just to give an idea of how Sullivan Place cares for their tenants - just last week we've had to call for a person who was trying to get into our apartment while I wasn't home (the lady was) and she stated that she was told by one of the front desk workers that there was simply nothing that could be done and to call the cops. This would have taken awhile to get there if something had happened right then and there. The person who had tried get access to our apartment showed up twice. It took me having to call right after for somebody to take action and I was still 45 minutes away. And just about an hour ago at the time of the review, when we called to see if we could get anything done about a loud noise complaint (the walls are paper thin by the way, not an exaggeration), the lady had told us that she just got off and to call the cops and abruptly hung up the phone. Great help so far. We have already decided on not renewing our lease and getting out of here once it's up, and we've only lived here for a few months. I lived at Sullivan place for a little over a year. I got my apartment through Kenan Overton. He did everything to get our business and we honestly felt very comfortable with his professional style. If it wasn't for Kenan, we probably would have gone elsewhere. I'm giving Kenan a 5-star review. Sullivan place deserves a 2, but our apartment itself was super nice. The good: spacious apartment, fast facilities services, great amenities (gym, bar business office, Bball court), EXCELLENT location (right off the highway). Improvements: No parking, security of facilities, overall cleanliness in the community, low grade tenants (and loud - smell of weed from neighbors infiltrates throughout apartment). One thing I will say, there was this some guy who lived ACROSS our unit, and I kid you not, this guy would talk from 10pm ALL THE way until 7am. I am not exaggerating or kidding. We called the cops one time, but they said they couldn't do anything and we should talk to Building management. Building management just sent an email out to everyone, it was mostly ignored. The guy moved out before us, thank God. All in all, I think the one thing that brings the community down, is some individuals that stay there. I believe Sullivan place provides rent assistance to people for reduced rent, which is great for helping out the community; however, a better job for vetting what types of people are granted a place is important. There were several car break-ins (inside the garage and outside), as well as an overall lack of care for cleanliness. Overall, I will miss my little apartment and especially the location. Update 5/23/2019: review my other comments if you would like more information about this situation. I just received a phone call from Kehlani with the UDR billing department. First of all, I was contacted via phone call that had the caller ID blocked. That's extremely sketchy because why would I give my financial information to someone that does not have a phone number listed to verify she is who she says she is? Second, she was on the attack from the get go. She would cut me off and speak over me each time I attempted to explain our point of view. I requested to speak to a a supervisor and she claimed to be the supervisor. It was an uncomfortable experience to be spoken down to in the manner I was from a customer service representative (somebody who claimed to be a supervisor, no less), particularly because I was calm and spoke to her with respect. When I called her out she finally allowed me a chance to speak. I don't feel like this is the appropriate reaction from a "professional." Third, when I commented on the fact that they contacted someone officially removed from the lease she became defensive and said well I apologized already. We never received an apology. The fact that she seemed unwilling to acknowledge the seriousness of this situation and offer a genuine apology is extremely concerning and is a huge red flag. I urge potential residents to seek living accommodations elsewhere. Living here is not worth the nightmare of dealing with corporate. I've never had the issues that I've encountered here. I would rate this place 0 stars if I was able to. read more

Sullivan Place is a great community to live in, the new manger Asma is very attentive to the residents needs and is always willing to listen and address my concerns, the maintenance staff is top notice they get things done in a professional and timely manner! I wish there were a button for a negative rating without stars. In fact it should have a poop symbol. These people will attempt to drain you dry when you move out. They won't even let you turn in your keys until the very last day. They never have time for a walk through and will charge you for miscellaneous crap. I will NEVER rent from these LIARS or UDR ever again! Constant thefts and vandalism in the complex. No follow through when calling for assistance. Just a plain horrible experience. read more

But when I come the first time to Sullivan place Keenan showed us all the places with nice polite way.
