Usually, my meet-and-greets are just with the couple and don't include the planner. I am so impressed with the time she puts into her planning. The bride, Belem and I went over sample ceremonies and discussed rehearsal details, the layout of the venue, and a timeline she was using leading up to the wedding day. The bouquets were delivered to the bride and bridesmaids at a separate location for a photo shoot. Belem personally took the time to find the groom and groomsmen to pin their boutonnières as well as the parents. Both Belem and Gennaro were easy to work with. It is expensive, so beware. It is also a very nice store with very nice staff. It's the type of place that doesn't sell what you need, it sells what you suddenly really want. I would guess it also appeals more to women than to men. But then again, that could describe most of St. Helena.... I managed to make it out without buying anything...and then was haunted by a necklace by Jeanine Payer for a week. The woman remembered me trying it on and happily put it on hold...even though I had completely left the county, not to mention the area. Two days later it was easy and delightful to pay for it by phone and have it shipped. It arrived in only two days, beautifully gift wrapped even though I'd purchased it for myself. I have a really hard time rating The Ren Brown Collection…read more It's not a botanical garden in that the fountain appears to be closed off and it's definitely not a gift shop because their selection is so small. The closest description I could settle on would be a gallery - and to be honest it's a very small one. The space is set up a bit like a tea room that also sells art, including a few pieces of jewelry and stonewares but it feels like the owners wanted a garden and like to collect Japanese art, so they created the store as a way to offset the cost, versus creating a market-driven store. All in all, if you're in the area it's certainly worth a stop (especially if the garden is open) but otherwise I'd don't think it's worth a special trip.
