I say "mostly" because I noticed a tendency towards over-salting things. That happened relatively often but only ever with the minor/accompanying elements, so it wasn't a major distraction. Food score - 4.5 / 5.0. The rant version: My wife and I dined here for our anniversary. The food was very good overall but we had a bit of a problem with the service. The issue was that we wanted to order one 7-course tasting menu and one 5-course a la carte menu to maximize the number of different things that we could try. The staff promptly told us that couldn't be done, because both menus had a "minimum 2 per table" policy. That policy isn't stated anywhere on their printed or online menu, and it makes me wonder what they do if they ever get a table of 1 (or 3). When we pressed them on the issue they said the reason was because they wouldn't be able to time things properly so that the dishes came out together. We told them that was fine, that they could bring out the dishes however they wanted as we were just going to share everything anyways, and that we just wanted to enjoy our anniversary dinner and try as many different things as possible. Still they refused, and insisted on telling us what we could and could not order. Personally I consider that a completely unacceptable level of service. Unless the restaurant is paying us to eat there, the restaurant has no business telling us what we can and can't order (hint: the restaurant was not paying us to eat there; quite the opposite, in fact). Doubly so when we're there for a special occasion and the restaurant is well aware of the fact. So for their perplexingly poor customer service, I'm deducting a point from their score. The food was certainly good, but there's just no excuse for being TOLD what to eat. Overall score - 3.5 / 5.0.

We have been here for lunch and dinner, and sat on the veranda of the old house and in the large weather proof awning. Food was amazing both times, our favourite course were the seafood tapas at lunchtime. The menu changes seasonally so expect to find something new to like when you get back here. The veranda and house are lovely for romantic lunches and dinners, the awning is great for a larger group. My other half tried our the beer sampler, very generous servings here!

I received my spicy bean pattie with some eagerness. The accompanying pickled vegetables weren't quite to my taste, and the fries on the side tasted better than they looked (leave the skins on I say), though there were rather few of them. And it was pretty pricey for lunch. That being said, I can't count how many touristy places I've been and wished I could get a nice filling and interesting bean dish, and the bean pattie itself delivered what I wanted. Between that, and eating in an open garden in mountain air, I felt generous enough to rate them well. I could definitely have tried other things on that menu.
