You might get doilies, tassels and lots of lace. However, a good B&B is certainly something to be appreciated, you get a lot more character than a national chain, you get an innkeeper who knows the area, and who has lots of local knowledge, who can actually provide useful services for you, and you get a free breakfast. The Meyer House is a shinning example of everything a bed and breakfast can be; the innkeeper was a excellent, with an astonishing store of helpful local knowledge and an obvious passion for her work. Not only was a good deal of the breakfast grown on the grounds, but the rugs were woven on site, and the innkeeper even made the soap for the wash-rooms. Not only were the accommodations excellent, but the price was actually less than the local Best Western. There is absolutely nothing to loose by staying at this fantastic B&B.

I'm vegan and when my boyfriend told her this, she didn't hesitate and assured us that she would make something separate for both of us. Once we arrived, the first thing we noticed was Heather's beautiful garden - full of wildflowers, lush greenery, and even a vegetable garden, it was clear that she had put a lot of love and effort into making her home welcoming. She greeted us at the door and showed us around, telling us how everything works and later sitting down with us and pointing out the different local spots we should check out, including a few vegan-friendly restaurants. One of the things I loved most about Meyer House is its commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly living. Heather has a bad-ass loom sitting in her living room where she weaves many of the rugs scattered throughout the house and, in addition to the rugs, she also produces some other handmade products including soaps and bath products that are up for sale. A couple of lovely little complimentary handmade soaps are available to sample in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the water in the house is heated by a solar heater - how cool is that?! Overall, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience here. We appreciated Heather's generosity and hospitality. She is very sweet and takes obvious pride in the work she does at Meyer House. You should DEFINITELY book a stay here; clean, beautiful, eco-friendly, great breakfasts, perfect!

Not surprisingly, the wine bottles were on the more expensive side but were good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They told us to wonder about the estate and sit wherever we like and they would find us with the wine and glasses and that's exactly what they did. The staff also opened up one of the large window doors so we can have the perfect hybrid of inside and outside. We tried a couple of their flatbreads and they were tasty and paired well with the wine. This establishment has hotel rooms upstairs and is often used for events, including weddings. Overall, it's a beautiful vineyard that you can lounge in for many hours. Staff said it gets very busy on the weekends but on a Monday there was so much room and serenity.

Yesterday I was lunching with a few friends and shepherds run came up and we decided to check it out. The setting was spectacular, the manor was surrounded by beautiful gardens. I felt I was in the cotswolds. There was a wedding currently happening so walking in we weren't sure if it was closed for the event. A very sweet staff member directed us to the bar. There we were given menus and told me could sit anywhere. We found a lovely room that looks as though it was once the receiving room. We enjoyed several glasses of rose ( delicious) and chatted with other guests. The staff were all very nice and we all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. We will be coming back September 13 with husbands and look forward to it. Bravo!!
