Many times I find myself stopping for just a few seconds when I pass by Sugarhouse, even if I don't end up buying anything. I am drawn to the spread of cookies, cakes, and pastries. Sometimes I cave in and buy one, especially when I'm really craving for sweets. I usually buy a sylvana (P25), and it's more than enough to satisfy my craving. Sometimes it's the sweet and creamy yema ball (P20), if I really want a sugar spike. But many times I just like to look. While many women love to window-shop, I love checking out sweets when they're on display, even though I'm not particularly buying anything.
Their cakes and pies look amazing (one sales staff recommended sans rival to me, and it does appear to be one of their bestsellers), but it's usually the odd pastry that I try.
And, they have more than sweets, too - they're a proper restaurant with tables where you can sit and order from a menu of soup, salad, sandwich, pastas, rice meals, and more. read more
