I wasn't crazy about the style of lashes that I got, but the staff at beyond beauty went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and happy. I will be experimenting more with them on the type of lashes that will work with my eye and eyelashes and I give them a 5 for exceptional customer service which to me is super important. The first time when I had my eyelash extensions (classic set) was at some nail boutique elsewhere and the extensions were good but in hindsight, not sure if it was a the best choice for hygienic reasons/customer service. I booked my appointment online, which was super convenient (for someone like me that doesn't like to phone for appts). When I arrived a little too early for my appointment, they were able to take me in right away. My lash technician was Liz, who welcomed me with a smile and was very engaging to find out exactly what style I was looking for. Since don't have much experience with getting lash extensions, I had lots of questions and she happily answered them and explained them in detail. When I wasn't sure what "dramatic curl" would look like, another technician told me she had them on her lashes and showed them to me so that I can get a better idea. The area where you receive the lash extension service was a shared space with multiple reclining chairs, I didn't mind since I'll have my eyes closed anyway. Liz offered me a blanket while I get my service done ( it was bitterly cold that day). After about an hour and a half, I had voluminous lashes that was vacation worthy! I see a lot of low rating reviews for this place but I have to say, I had a great experience.

I havnt done lashes since the pandemic , but I've had lashes done for 10 years, by the most amazing lash artists in toronto and Brazil. I gave the beauty house lash girl my lash measurements and hoped for the best. When I opened my eyes, omg I was so shocked- it was not not not what I had in mind. I don't know how each lash artist interprets the lash measurements, but it was not my look. Fine, she was young and maybe she had a style. (I'm in my 40s, and she did not ask me what I was looking for either- but I didn't know you could interpret measurements and how they look). The lashes were so long and crazy looking. When I got home I took a closer look and the lashes were also thick and cheap looking, and there was globs of glue everywhere. She was also finished in less than an hour- totally unheard of for a full set and for doing such a bad job. This is not the job of a top lash artist. They also charge by the minutes it takes to do a relash- but if you don't know how to do the lashing properly, how can you try to be so fast? I say take it slow and do the job right!! I had my lashes removed by a lash girl I have in the interim- she's pretty good. I'm still in search of my next lash girl. I don't recommend the beauty house. It's not up to the level they should be for promoting lash extensions as their main business. They need to improve a lot, or charge a lot less for their skill set.

After delays due to covid restrictions, I was finally able to see Rea in early March. I also…read morerecommended 2 people to her as well. I understood her policy was very strict and for the two appointments I had, I arrived on time. I was really excited because I do believe she's great at what she does and she specializes in black skin, which is a plus. A couple days ago I was alerted at work that my covid rapid test had come back positive. I was asked to take a follow up PCR test then go home. I knew I had my appointment on Monday, so I gave Rea notice. She requires 48hrs, I gave 24hrs. Bear in mind, it is Sunday afternoon and I've just been told that I've tested positive for covid. I explained that to Rea and she immediately informed me that I am to etransfer her the amount for my "late" cancellation ($195.00) or she will cancel all my appointments. I was taken aback and was very put off by this response. I respect the policy of any business I frequent, however I strongly belive that sensitivity, tact and compassion are pillars in customer service and in that moment, Rea was deeply lacking in those traits. Fortunately she was able to cover an hour of the appointment and told me to send her $65 instead or she will cancel the rest of my appointments. Because I was still willing to move forward with her despite insensitivity, I e-transferred her the amount. But after much thought, I decided that I am not interested in doing business with someone who cannot understand that in uncertain times like this - life happens. It's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to finally being hair free after struggling with this for so long. However "good work", as she calls it, means nothing without sensitivity and tact. P.S. I'd like to note that she requires payment for missed appointments or late cancelations because that means she loses money - which is fair. But I'd ALSO like to note that as a client, I'm paying for gas/transit, parking, my time, as well as paying for the actual service. I'm not requesting a free service or special favors. And although she has "no exceptions". I think exceptions should be made for Covid. I even told her I could send her a copy of my results to prove I was being truthful, because I was that serious about moving forward with her.
