In fact, pictures from our beautiful event weren't even seen. Booking Erica for our parents anniversary was great. She was so nice and bubbly on the phone and we were able to get a hold of her easily to discuss details. We were really excited to meet her at the venue. Our party started at 6:30 and we asked her to arrive 15 minutes prior to that time. She showed up at 45 after. We were disappointed but she showed up with a smile and seemed ready to work so we let it go. We informed her which plate would be hers for dinner but asked that during dinner she went around and got some candid photos of our guests. She got up and took 1 photo of each table after eating and then asked to take the family photos that we wanted so she could leave afterward. This was only 1 1/2 hours into the event and we paid for 3 so we expected her to stay the remainder of the time and handed her her check then. Our mistake. She stayed another 15 minutes after taking our family photos (which we were so looking forward to seeing) and then left. We were shocked at the service we received. Especially because we liked her so much before she tried to jip us on time. A few days after the event we got a phone call from a very sorry Erica letting us know that our photos were accidentally deleted from the memory card and that they could not be recovered. While devastated we knew that there was ways to get those photos back because we have 2 very tech-savvy guys in our family and they've had experience with this very issue. She refused to let us try any of their techniques but was very apologetic. The good news is we received our money back. The bad news is, we have no photos of that night, and for a family who loves to document everything with images, this was a hard pill to swallow.

We dragged her all around my old hood (Lakeview) and she took pictures in alleys, the brown line stop, a bookstore, and even in the Yogen Fruz. She made us look good, and not like the semi awkward nerds we are. I can't wait until my wedding next year for those pictures. Her pricing and packages are straight forward, and you understand exactly what you are paying for. I liked that her packages included the digital images and the right release. I was specifically looking for a photographer who provided this service. Many of them want you to purchase prints directly through their studio rather than releasing the images to you which in this day in age I don't really understand since most people want to have the digital rights. Her website has ample samples of her work for you to browse when making your decision, and she answered all of my questions in a professional manner. We booked her for a newborn shoot which we scheduled for day 5 of our son's life. I was nervous about the timing due to having a csection, but Karen assured me if we had to move the shoot to a different day due to my recovery to just let her know so that took some of the pressure off of me. She is a very accommodating person. She does in studio and outdoor photography. We used her in studio services. Her studio is located in her home in Eagle River. She has a very nice dedicated space in her home to her business. There is a comfortable area for her clients to lounge, and her actual studio is in a separate room with a door to make it private. She had amenities such as water, coffee and extra diapers which I thought was a really nice touch. Her studio was very nicely decorated and clean! For the photos she has many different props, back drops, outfits, and swaddles to choose from. She asks what your preferences are for the photos, and offers great suggestions as to what goes well together. She has a standard format of poses that she uses when working with newborns, but is willing to work with you on what you want including if you want to bring your own props in for photos. Karen was excellent working with our newborn. You have to be a really special person to work with babies and little kids, and Karen is great with this special clientele. She is soothing, patient and gentle. She is able to get the babies positioned just right, and makes sure to be very safe with her posing. For newborn shoots she doesn't put a time limit on the length so that as parents you don't feel pressured. We spent about 2.5 hours with her, and I was able to feed our baby twice to get him nice and calm for the photos. She was friendly, personable, and my husband and I enjoyed conversing with her. Our proofing gallery was available about a week after the photo shoot. From there we choose which photos we wanted to keep. Our package pricing included 15 images, and we purchased additional photos at a flat rate per image. After the images were chosen Karen edited the photos, and sent the final images about 2.5 weeks out from when we selected the proofs. She included final edits in color and B&W which I was not expecting but very happy about. She also offers a sneak peek option at your discretion on her social media that she posts within 72 hours of the shoot. I am very pleased with all of our images, and am excited to share them! I would highly recommend Karen for your photography needs. She is professional, friendly and accommodating. She is a great photographer who does excellent work. For family photography she also works extremely well with children!

After successfully using the internet to find about a dozen photographers (no hits, all misses) in the Anchorage area, I knew I needed more direction. Finding Lauren Roberts (the brains, talent, and amazingness behind Beauty Board Media) was the answer to my questions. Even while on a work-trip outside of Alaska, Lauren fielded my call and took some time to sit in a quiet place and chat with me about what exactly I was looking to do. I wanted my proposal to my girlfriend to be caught on camera so we could share that special moment with our friends and family all over the world. No big deal. Lauren and I spoke for days before she even started talking about the cost of this cross-country production I was planning. A couple from Texas celebrating the 4th of July in Anchorage with a proposal under the fireworks at a small college summer league baseball game. She was almost as excited about this as I was! The words "swoon" and "romantic" were thrown around excessively. Lauren promises, Lauren delivers. She brought along a second shooter to catch the moment in photos while she masterfully shot our video. At the time of writing this review the video has not yet been completed; we asked Lauren to take extra time and provided her recently with some other home video "gems" to work with. Like I said, her promise of a keepsake production cannot be ignored. It's amazing what Beauty Board Media has done for past clients (check out the website) and what she's done for Priscilla and me. The photos are outrageous. We can't stop looking at them. A few are being printed and framed once we decide which of them we like more than the others. It's a difficult task when each picture is a masterpiece. Our friends and family love the pictures. Our only regret is that Lauren is in Alaska and we're in Texas! We can't thank her enough.
