I had a camping trip to Yosemite National Park planned in September and knew I wanted to propose to my Fiancé while on the trip and didn't know exactly how I would plan this. We are avid outdoor/hikers and love horses. When I found Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventures, I knew that this was the PERFECT place for me to propose to the love of my life. I wasn't quite sure how the proposal would go down to begin with, but Cami and the entire team made the experience unbelievable. I felt like part of the family and cannot thank them enough. They scouted out various different locations along the route for the spot prior to my arrival and communicated with me every step of the way. Jolene found the location on the trail, and was our guide. We did a private trial ride as I wanted the experience to be intimate. Jolene was INCREDIBLE and we cannot thank her enough. She was an expert guide and made the entire experience a memory we will never forget. Jolene took pictures for us and planned the entire proposal location, she was fantastic in every regard. The horses were beautiful and looked extremely well taken care off and loved. The trail ride itself was the best we have been on, and we have done quite a few. It was beautiful, fun going through the creeks and riding up/down the mountainsides. We cannot thank Cami, Jolene and the entire Yosemite Trails Horseback Adventure Team for the memory and experience of a lifetime, and we cannot wait to do it again!

They typically attend for a two week session and have consistently returned thrilled, having tried many new activities, having loved their counselors and made many new, great friends. Activities include: Horses, Archery, Paddle Boarding, Swimming in the Lake, Banana Boats, Biking, Rock Climbing, and Tomahawk Toss. Our kids report that the food is great, the songs and campfires are fun, the activities are great and there is nothing about it that they don't love. As a parent, it is easy to stay in touch...the Director (who is wonderful) posts a detailed summary each day on their password protected website of what is happening at Camp each day, and about 100 candid photos are posted each day to show what is going on around the Camp. The pictures are a great way to (sometimes) see candid shots of your kids and still feel in touch. The kids are able to get letters everyday and larger "care packages" once a week so you can stay in touch. We have interacted with the owners, nurse, and camp management on several occasions and have been impressed every time. These folks are great professionals! We will continue to send our kids to this remarkable Camp and commend Skylake for being such an oasis. Keep up the great work! Skylake is a dream...a 5-star camping experience!

My favorite activities as a camper were tennis, archery, canoeing and campcrafts. As a counselor I tended to drift towards watersports - waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboards... As a family camper my favorite activity is anything where my kids are having fun and I'm in the sun! Skylake is a magical place where friendships are born that sustain through your lifetime, a time of meaningful personal growth away from the "you" you are at home, where you are free to explore who you are, who you want to be and what is important in the world. Highly recommend giving it a shot if you can! You won't be sorry.

I find it super fun to go there after a long day of school because school can sometimes be stressful, hanging out and riding horses can cause stress to go away. Riding horses can be therapy when you're feeling anxious or stressed from anything. I went to my son's field trip and was lucky enough to be one of the chaperons. I did not even realize this place existed. It is located off of Herndon and VanNess next to the golf coarse. I was already skeptical because that just didn't sound very outdoorsy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are located right next to the San Joaquin River and we were able to try out canoeing. We were also educated by some very friendly knowledgeable guides. The students were able to play some simple fun educational games about animals of prey and predators. We also learned about tracking animals as well as the local fauna. I really enjoyed this wonderful educational experience and wish to come back. However, it is an FCOE owned organization and it is not open to the public. It is open to schools and teacher's with their students. Maybe I can become a volunteer Docent or look for other ways to conserve and educate. I believe there is also an organization that will have you canoe your way through the river while picking up trash. I will pick up trash if that means I can come back and canoe! www.scoutisland.org

We arrive at Minarets Pack Station with all our gear the day before our hike in. Mikki has an amazing dinner prepared for us. This year it was massive ribeye steaks. So good! We enjoy a lovely meal in the big house together giddy with anticipation about our camping trip. Afterwards we retire to one of the pack stations super comfortable glamping tents for the night. We sleep like babies on super comfortable warm beds. We wake up bright and early and put our gear on the mule loading dock. Mikki provides us with a wonderful huge breakfast and we set off to hike in to our chosen lake. The mules bring our gear up which arrives a little after we do and we live like kings on our own private lake for a week or two. It is absolute heaven. I cant say enough about Mikki and Tracy they are so kind and welcoming. The atmosphere at the pack station is lovely, with a beautiful green pasture surrounded by fir trees. It was just my spouse and me on the trip, which made it feel really personal and special. Isaac was not only knowledgeable and professional but also had a great personality that made it easy to talk openly and honestly with him. He gave us the confidence we needed to take on this adventure and was encouraging every step of the way. Thanks to his guidance and support, this trip was a true success. We would absolutely recommend Lasting Adventures--and Isaac specifically--to anyone looking for a meaningful and empowering outdoor experience. We're already looking forward to doing another trip!

The location was so beautiful and serine, and not far enough to scare off an absolute backpacking beginner like me! I kinda pinched myself several times to make sure it was all real. The yoga instructor Britta was fabulous. She had amazing insight, knowledge, and overall her "do what your body tells you" guidance approach to yoga was above and beyond what I expected. She's also just such a warm and encouraging person, which helped me engage spiritually and openly in every practice. Also, I loved that she guided us how to use yoga in our hikes and various activities throughout the day (like breathing technique and TOE YOGA!) The guide Dawson was so chill, knowledgeable and an ASTONISHING cook! I went in expecting to eat nothing but berries and raw avocado, but he made delicious meals I'd gladly eat any day anywhere (like vegan French toast with berries, chia seeds and syrup...never would have thought that was do-able on a backpacking trip!). His mellow and trustworthy demeanor made everything feel so effortless and eased so much anxiety I had going into the whole thing. Overall, it was the trip of a lifetime in such a beautiful place. I made new friends, I saw new things, I never felt judgement, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
