However.this week it's undergone a makeover! It was shut for 10 days and is now like a brand new store - spacious, well lit, better laid out - and the thing I love about the Co Op is their focus on fair trade products. Really great little supermarket now - really convenient.

Co-op have done very well of late in rebranding themselves as place to shop for fair-trade and…read morelocally sourced foods. They re-fitted the whole of this supermarket a few months ago. It was a much needed face-lift that's for sure. As a result this little supermarket is a lot more of an inviting place to shop in. They have a car parking space too. A lot of the local residents use this place as their main local supermarket. It's not my preferred supermarket, but this Co-op is much, much better than it used to be!

This is a convenient off-licence for me. I go in there if I need to quickly grab a bottle of wine…read morefor an occasion for example. Also, if there is a particular spirit that you are after, but they and other shops don't stock it, then they will order it in for you. I like to get lovage wine for instance, which is not readily available from other shops. Their goods are all reasonably priced. They sell snacks and other food items too. They value loyal customers and have been around for years, so they are clearly doing something right to please us customers.

I was surprised that they actually sell lentils here, so that is a nice bonus for people who like eating lentils! Obviously, this is a place if you really need some food or drink in a hurry, so you do pay more money for this convenience. It is really a busy place to be and I think it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It certainly has longer opening hours than Somerfield. I prefer the Somerfield though.

It's a fairly large store and frequently seems to have new ranges available. The clothes are very competitively priced and have a great selection from the latest fashion to the more traditional skirts and trouser suits. There is also a wide selection of footwear in this branch, along with a children's section, a menswear section and a lingerie and nightwear department. Towards the back of the store you can usually find some sale items at even cheaper prices. The only gripe I have is that we had to queue for several minutes at the checkout yesterday, and this has often been the case when I've shopped in here at the weekend. But it's worth it for the good value clothes on offer.

They sell famous brand name toiletries for only a pound. This is why I will choose to go in here first for toiletries before I go to Boots or Superdrug! They also sell food products for £1 too. Look out for the eggs and the milk - great value for money and great choice. The layout and products remind me of Woolworths, which is very nostalgic for me. This is a very popular and busy shop too.
