The Lie: They tell you that if you buy your own modem and return the modem they rented to you, you will save $10 on your bill (there is a $10 equipment fee on your bill if you use their modem). I spent $170 on a new modem thinking it would pay for itself after a while. These jack-offs take the 10$ fee off your bill and then jack up your price $10, claiming that you no longer qualify for the savings under the original agreement. lying bastards! The hoops: They don't send you a bill. If you don't call them, you will start racking up charges. When you call them, you have to authenticate with a PIN number. Guess where the PIN number is. We had incredible service for years and then all of the sudden in November the service started to degrade. We haven't had service or reliable service for months and they refuse to fix it. Please avoid this awful service you'll regret it if you sign up because they don't take care of their cable lines like they're supposed to. We've had Suddenlink for our Cable/TV and Internet. They are awful! We've had ongoing problems and all they do is give us the run-around and excuses...lots of excuses. We pay our bill every month for badly pixilated television, we can't watch streaming services. Essentially, we are paying for horrendous service and excuses. We would love to change providers but for a couple of reasons, we are stuck with them. Service: F Customer Service: F Payment for Services: D- They are dishonest and completely incompetent. We have contacted them numerous times. We've had many technicians come out to our home and they tell us that the issues are on their end with their equipment. For just this latest problem, we've been told that for six months. We've posted on their Facebook and FB messaged with them. We've posted on our local neighborhood site and have had MANY people reply with the same issues (with the exception of just one person!!). Absolutely horrible service. They won't fix the issue, and we have intermittent outages, about 40 a day.

This company drastically overcharged my account and refuses to give me my money back. After hours on the phone with their customer service, they asked me to send them my bank statements to show my overpayment. Here's the kicker... it was paid through auto draft every single month so there is no reason why they should not have record of this! Additionally, my account was closed in November of 2022 because I switched over to a bulk account provider. It is now March of 2023 and they are STILL trying to take monthly auto drafts and have not closed my account after multiple requests and hours on the phone with them. I have had to remove my CC from my -profile to keep them from charging me further. I currently have a credit on my account that they also refuse to give me. They are saying that it will be applied to my account (which has already been overpaid!) This company is a joke. It's unfortunate that they monopolize the Branson (and ozarks) area for internet. Please!!!! Do yourself a favor and read the reviews. Stay away from this company. I paid these folks for many years now and there is no way to get customer service and the actual product that you receive is nothing near what they claim it is. I cancelled one of my service addresses before the " end of the billing cycle " to avoid another monthly charge and the cancellation order was somehow not processed until I called back three days later. Guess what they were happy to assist me but it was already in to another billing cycle so I would owe another monthly fee. Truly nothing more than theft but hey there is no way to hold anyone accountable for anything. I am usually not the one to leave reviews but if I can keep someone away from this criminal company it was worth it. If you call long enough they will offer you a month of HBO for $5.99 a month for the " issues you are having" though. Many other providers out there folks so really, stay away. read more

We have been Suddenlink customers for years due to lack of choices. We have expressed our difficulties with our download and upload speeds. They accepted our upgraded subscription knowing they could not provide the speeds promised. I called yesterday just to get on record again what my speed test was that day and after several attempts through the phone automated system and chat automated system they won and I gave up. I never got to talk to a person. If you have a choice use someone else. read more

My husband went to turn in our equipment at the local Ozark store today. He showed up at 11:15am and the doors were locked with a "be back at noon" sign posted. Supposedly they closed from 11a-12p for lunch. This isn't listed anywhere in their hours. My husband sat for 45 minutes waiting for someone to come back. This is ridiculous. If I could give them less than 1 star I would.... We have been living in our house for just a little over a year and have never gotten the speeds we pay for. Over the last few months the service has been down more than up and I work from home. When you call them they just say reboot the modem... the modem is brand new along with the cabling throughout my home and all the way to the pole AND when they finally admit there is an issue with their node being overloaded they have ZERO sense of urgency to fix this issue and continue to give you snarky comments when you ask when it will be fixed. As I sat and typed this my internet has gone down 5 times. These people are awful and the services is less than subpar..... AOL dial up was better. My personal advice RUN RUN as fast as you can away from these people, trust me you will thank me later. read more

cable tv and internet: Periodically the TV picture will stall and the sound will stop. On HD channels the problem is almost always there. Roku downloads have no problem. An obvious bandwidth problem somewhere, I suspect the Tivo mini box, been there since the service was installed. Customer technical service is a joke. read more

When I started service I had zero problems but unfortunately it didn't stay that way. I get paid once a month and they had scheduled my due date for that date so it was late. When I called to let them know why, they refused (due to company 'policy') to remove it even though the due date was supposed to be later. Then I canceled the service due to a move, and they are making me pay for the rest of my billing time which is another twenty days. So I am paying for internet and phone that I can't possibly use. I am truly disappointed in their customer service and 'polices' that ended up costing me more money that it should. read more

Called the customer support because the internet speed was slow. They tried to manually reboot the modem. It would not work so they sent a service tech out. The tech fixed accord on the back of their modem and said no charge when he left. So when I received my bill and saw a $60.00 fee for coming out I was surprised. After waiting a 40 minutes on hold Sydney said it was my issue. Then I spoke to the next level up and he was even better. When I answered the phone he said it would not be comped off in the first sentence of the conversation.So then I spoke to Deidra. She was very sarcastic and said inside wiring was my problem even though the equipment is Suddenlinks. There was no one who could remove the charge. On 28/7/2016, I set up an install for 3/8/3016. I was given the standard "between 8 and 12" install time. No one ever showed up. When I called and asked about the issue, the first person I talked to claimed there was no appointment, the second person told me that my account notes were blank, but my appointment was in 3 days, and the 3rd person I talked to claimed my appointment hadn't been confirmed yet. After I told them that I was going to stay with AT&T and to cancel all of my various "appointments," they sent an installer to my house. It took staying on hold for another 30 minutes and talking to 2 other people before my account was supposedly canceled. With the way this company communicates internally, I fully expect a bill. read more

Worst customer service and shady sales practices. Altice took over Suddenlink but they keep the name to confuse you. They will hound you relentlessly to upgrade your service. But if you just want internet, your bill will increase by $10 every month til you call to complain and they try to upsell you. I finally went through BBB twice and they agreed to lower my bill but it still increased $10 a month after that and had to call and cancel. Then they won't reimburse once you turn in equipment and have to pay for a full month of service. Imagine if you're moving during a billing period. We moved to a new duplex complex in Ozark in September, 2017. Unfortunately (I later found this was not true.) I was told that the ONLY TV, Internet provider I could get was "Hughes Net" for Internet and DISH for TV. If you want to experience truly horrible Internet, go with Hughes Net. It is no better than the ancient "Dial Up" service. One month ago I found I could get Suddenlink for both TV and Internet. After reading all the reviews today (March 26) I have concerns. BUT. . . I will shout from the housetops that HUGHES IS SO MUCH WORSE THAN SUDDENLINK! The only problem I am having so far with Suddenlink is getting clarification about how they do the "buyout" of my contracts with Hughes and DISH. Do I pay and then get credit on my bill, or do they pay Hughes and DISH and I pay my full Suddenlink bill? But as for quality of the signals. Unbelievably better than Hughes. read more

We've had some variety of Suddenlink (Cebridge, Suddenlink, Suddenlink by Altice) for our cable TV and Internet for the past 16 years. Each time they change names, they get worse, not better. Since Altice bought them out, it's been the WORST of all. A few years ago, we had issues that took eight months to correct, and only because of my constant harassment for that whole time. We would have dumped them after that, but we really need cable internet, and have had the same email addresses the whole time. Over the past five months, we have had a similar problem as before. We have terrible pixelation on a daily basis, can't watch streaming or listen to streaming music on the TV, and have audio issues regularly. Also, our internet signal is terrible and download speeds are really SLOW. During this time, we've had four techs out to our house. (These are subcontractors now, not Suddenlink employees.) Each of them has said the problems are up in the provider's system, not our house or equipment. They have all made referrals back to Suddenlink to fix the main cabling or system equipment, with no response to actually make the fix. Suddenlink told us recently that they have escalated our issue, but they never have info for us as to when repairs will happen. Of course, through all these month, we're paying our bill for something much less than we contracted for. It's thievery! Please don't use this company if you have any other viable option. I have only had Suddenlink for 6 months and it has been nothing but problems! I would NEVER recommend Suddenlink to anyone. It is the only TV/internet I can get at my home in Kimberling City. I originally signed up for an plan with a set amount of time at a set price and it included an Amazon gift card. First glitch was they mailed my first bill to the wrong address so my first payment was late. We got that all fixed and after my 3 months of service I inquired about the Amazon gift card and I was told that my first bill was late so it voided the Amazon gift card. I explained that they mailed the bill to the wrong address and I was notified that was not their problem??? Next the receiver went out, so I took it to the local office and exchanged it. Well that didn't work so they sent me back with a new remote. That didn't work either so I brought everything back for all new equipment and made sure it all worked in the office before I left (because the closest office is in Ozark, so now I've gone 3 weeks without tv). Thank goodness it's all working but now my monthly bill has gone up. I go to the office and she says that's not right, that I am on a 1 Year set rate and have only been with them for 6 months. She gives me a number to call and they say I'm not on a plan and that they were hit with fees and have had to pass them along to their customers. read more

Yesterday, I supposedly was scheduled to have a cable buried. They never showed. Today, same thing. Never showed. This cable, all 300 feet of it, has been above ground since before Thanksgiving. It's now February. The Suddenlink call center agent tried to convince me this evening on the phone (as he sat at a Tyler Texas call center) that it shouldn't be of concern to me, since the cable was enabling me cable access just fine. I shouldn't be concerned that I have any issues external to my house, as long as I have access inside my house for tv cable, Internet and phone. Their service techs, he said, work in the dark, so they might be there as late as 8pm tonight, if they want. I have a list of disappointments with them, including the time they came with a 30-foot cable instead of a 300-foot cable, saying it was an internal communication problem, and the time they came to my folks' house next door, and mom pointed the tech to where he needed to go to my house, and then he left, never making it to my house, and never following up, and the dates that I had service scheduled and they never showed at all, and the time I asked the agent in Tyler TX if the local Suddenlink techs had 4WD or AWD since it was a bad February that year, and my property would be difficult for them to navigate. Indeed, the agent assured me that they have 4WD mobility. Uh, No. They didn't. My dad had to come to their rescue. He ended up in the hospital that same night after his exposure to the cold. I realize Suddenlink subcontracts some of their services, but ultimately they're still the company responsible for those services, as I'm their paying customer. Too bad they're not very responsible. What would you do to get their 300-ft cable buried, since they've failed to do so? read more

The Internet service was fantastic when I signed up four years ago. The price WAS $35 and it was never supposed to increase according to their internet ad. Now - four years later, the Internet is still great. But the price almost doubled - and the customer service is horrible. If you call - you wait on hold for hours and then get a rep who cannot explain the increases. If you use the online chat - you get a quick rep - but the rep has no answer concerning the nature of the increases and when they will stop. None of the reps will give you the name of their supervisors - you will have to go to the State Corporate registry to get the contact information. read more

If you have any other choice don't use this company! I am appalled by this company that's all I can say. My mother in law used Suddenlink in her home. She ended up in the hospital, then in a nursing home, and finally unable to take care of herself she came to our house. She is unable to take care of anything so it fell on me to handle all her financial dealings. This is how our dealing with this company went. We both work Mon-Fri so took numerous calls on our part to cancel her service because you are put on hold for longer than we had at work to wait for them to answer our calls. They were unsympathetic, uncaring. They didn't care if she was sick and not even at her home anymore. She owed them 1 months service, but they wouldn't cancel her service until we brought her cable box back to them. That meant a long drive for us and they are only open Mon-Fri, so my husband had to take a day off work. Overall, the worst customer service I can remember. In the past week and a half, they have not shown up for 2 appointments to add tv to our existing internet service. When we ordered the tv service, the package that we were signing up for was supposed to be free, but they tried to bill us $74. That package was supposed to be $84.99 per monthly, but with all of the hidden charges it came out to $153 per month. Now, after 10 days of having the internet in our new house, all of the sudden, our internet is out, and they don't even show that we have a modem registered with them (its the modem that they gave us!!!!). When I called them, they just passed me from one person who can't help to the next. The final person I spoke to from the sales department did nothing but talk over me and interrupt. Then, when I asked to not be interrupted, she interrupted again, and threatened to transfer me to the cancellation department. I'm done with these unprofessional people, and their hit-or-miss service (400 Mbps is more like 25, internet goes out at least weekly). read more

God forbid you have one of the monthly outages I experience, because you will be placed on hold and transferred to call centers all over the US until someone gives you a 2 second response and hangs up. I believe Suddenlink is growing in this area, so I am hopeful that the service will improve, but a little over a year in, my gut tells me otherwise. To be fair, the picture quality is very good on HD, and the features that allow recording of programs seem to work well. Now the downside: We were misled at the start of the agreement; I asked repeatedly what the price would be after the introductory period and was told the price was the same. You can guess what happened on month 13. The guys that came to install the equipment told my wife we had made a big mistake by getting all 3 services (phone, internet, TV). I called the help line when our service went out the first time and spent a good 20 minutes debating with some guy who must be studying to be an attorney. The phone, internet, and television had all dropped out at the same time, and he told me the problem was my wireless router, which just about anyone could have figured out had nothing to do with it. He was uncooperative and implied repeatedly that I had to agree to pay a monthly service agreement fee in order to get service back. Also, at the end of a year, they dropped a bunch of channels without warning to save themselves some cash-you need to really carefully scrutinize the useful lineup being offered; the total number of channels advertised includes many standard definition dogs as well as a gazillion music channels nobody could ever use. They dropped MLB network right when the playoffs started. You have to check the channel lineup daily to find out which of the channels you watch has been chopped from the service. People in the local office are snobs and unhelpful unless you are there to pay even more. read more

Next Tech showed up and said bad DVR replaced it no more problems..Case # 2 I live in Branson West,so I assumed my local store would be Branson, because i live just west of them, anyway drove down there and told them I would like to add another DVR to my acct. thinking the hole time that i would save the 25.00 install fee if I picked up the DVR and installed it my self,NOT!!!!!! So i drove to Ozark and conducted some business with the lady that works there and I asked her "does this thing work"? she answered "best to her knowledge" well she didn't know much, didn't work and after hours on the phone with suddenlink and many resets I now get to wait untill they open up after the holidays. I have nothing but problems not even the workers or supervisor can figure what's going on. My phone go's dead for a period of time witch can be a safety concern being that I'm disabled. My internet keeps lagging me off sometimes when I'm watching a movie it's like a old Japanese movie. With everything I'm a VIP customer what ever that means I've been going threw this for over 3 years. Your probably thinking crazy lady why so long. If it can happen to me it can happen to someone else that has to put there day on hold to wait for a worker or supervisor to come out and they might not be as nice and patient as me. It not the survices it's the quality I have a problem with. There all so very kind and I do believe they are doing everything that they can and they want to find out the problem just as bad me so it don't happen to you and I can start getting what I pay for. So far, this has been one of the worst companies I've had to deal with. First, we tried paying our bill with them for 3 months, and were in risk of having our internet disconnected, because they would A not take the money from me, and B kept saying when we called that our account balance was 0. Okay...anyone else see a problem with this...we are in default and about to have our internet shut off, but we have a 0 balance AND haven't paid in 3 months! Second, we FINALLY get that taken care of by being FORCED to sign up for automatic payments, and now we cannot get their stupid "Avoid Disconnection by calling this number" banners randomly whenever we try and open webpages. Lastly, they are now intercepting links from different places and sending us to their suddenlink search website that is completely useless, and when we attempt to call and have this fixed, they tell us to reset our modem, and clear cookies, cache and history....WHICH DOES NOTHING! If you have ANY other option, DO NOT CHOOSE SUDDENLINK! It's useless and nothing but a pain in the neck! read more
