DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS! I hired this company in order to load a moving truck so I could move to Washington, D.C. Where do I begin? First -- after the movers were 30 minutes late -- I called customer service and it took over an hour to figure out why the team was late (note that I had to call them -- they didn't reach out to me). That's when I found out that they overbooked and they were dispatching another team that was going to be nearly 6 hours late. I explained that it was entirely unprofessional as I was now running late to meet the movers I hired in Washington, D.C. to unload the truck. It also meant that now we had to load the truck and I had figure out how to attach the trailer towing the car to the truck in the middle of the night in the pouring rain (had they been on schedule, the rental truck company would've still been open and able to do it for me). It didn't stop there. The new team was late and the manager I was speaking with stopped answering his phone. The pair that came to load the truck was so rushed that they did an inexcusably poor job at loading the truck effectively. They refused to put the covers I provided them with on my recently purchased box spring or love seat. They also didn't use any padding between furniture and didn't secure any drawers on anything, like desks and dressers. My box spring now is covered in black marks, my dresser drawers fell onto the floor because of how it was packed. When the drawers fell out, it chipped the corner of them. Even with a stain pen, they are awful. Additionally, they stacked boxes on top of and in between furniture which, when rubbed together without proper padding, left scratches and gouges in a nearly new coffee table and bookshelf. A mirror broke and, as when my dresser drawers fell out, one gouged a hole in our TV box. I was promised a refund for the move after the movers were so late which I was pleased with. But when I arrived, the moving company that helped me unload was disgusted by how terribly the truck was packed -- they even offered to come to Vermont if I ever needed loading help in the future. They told me to explain to the company that there was so much damage and that a decent company would try to remedy it. Upon calling Sudden Courier, they insisted that they were not liable for any of the damage but eventually told me to email them the photos of the damage (Facebook only allows me to post one here -- this is of my dresser). They have neglected to respond to any of my emails and now I'm left with damaged furniture. I didn't need to hire professional movers in order to just throw my things in a moving truck and end up with them scratched and broken. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache (and damaged furniture) -- find another company with actual professionalism and skip hiring these "movers." read more
