Poor Quality of Work - The work took a week longer than quoted - Their digging broke our lanterns and killed all our mature plants along the path - They discarded garbage and broken tools around our yard (and did not clean it up) - They widened the path to our front door without telling us this would be done - Their job required us to hire a landscaper and hardscaper ($1000) to clean up the mess they had made (above and beyond the path reworking anticipated) Privacy Invasion and Homophobia - Phil, the owner of Baker Plumbing, showed up unannounced on our doorstep a month after completion of work to hand-deliver the bill (they had not emailed or mailed a bill) - On our doorbell camera, we heard Phil say "motherfucking c*cksuck3rs, I know you are home" - The video also showed that Phil had looked in our front window (blinds were closed), and we have video and audio of him saying "I can see you f*ck1ng freaks in there, mother#ck3rs" - We told them not to contact us again or come to our home: they continued to contact us via text and email Phil's Retaliation -We paid the bill within 24 hours of having received it. We left a 1-star review due to their poor work, the extra costs we had to pay to clean up after them, and because Phil had called us slurs and violated our privacy. -We emailed Phil to confront him about his homophobic language. Baker Plumbing called us "slanderous" -Baker Plumbing then posted 4 x 1-star reviews on our B&B's google listing. They have never been guests. The message we are getting from him is loud and clear: I hate gay people so much I am not only going to use slurs against them, but try to sabotage their business as well.

Move out clean of townhouse. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Paid…read morefor 2 cleaners for a 4 hour block of time from 1 to 5 pm. Two bathrooms were left uncleaned. The toilets, 8 light fixtures, baseboards,  mirrors, vanities, space under the 3 sinks,  baseboards, shower stalls, and doors were left undone in 2 bathrooms. Wall smudges, light switches, and baseboards were not cleaned. All the mirrors on the mirrored bifold doors on 3 closets of 2 bedrooms and the front entrance hallway were left uncleaned. Baseboards and light switches were not wiped in the hallway closet, smaller bedroom closet, and walk-in closet in primary bedroom. The cabinet under the double kitchen sinks was not cleaned. The lower cabinet where there's a lazy Susan was not wiped out. The inside of the dishwasher was left dirty, so it was also not cleaned. The baseboards around the kitcken island were not wiped. The laminate floors in the kitchen and dining toom were left smudged and not done. I cleaned the laminate floors recently, days after the cleaners were here on Thursday, March 28th. None of the blinds were cleaned. The large venetian blind in the smaller bedroom, as well as the 3 large venerian blinds and two smaller venetian blinds in the living room, were left dusty.  The 4 large venetian blinds and 2 smaller venetian blinds in the kitchen nook and dining area and small blind by the entrance door were not cleaned. A lot of the kitchen cabinets had previously been cleaned by me. The oven was wiped out. The oven had self-cleaned days earlier. The refrigerator was completely cleaned.  The front entrance hallway was mopped. That's all. The cleaners arrived late at 1:05 pm. After they left, toilet paper was missing from one of the bathrooms. When they were about to leave, we were returning to meet them at the townhouse. They knew that we were on our way. We caught them pulling away in their car at 5:05 pm, but stopped them to chat. They would have left an empty townhouse unlocked.

Smart Site Construction is a company to be trusted. Excellent value for the money. Excellent…read morecommunication. I hired Smart Site to fix the interior of a house that had been water damaged. What I got was a whole lot more. They diagnosed the source of the problem. It was not just incorrectly installed flashing as the roofing inspector from another company had said. The entire roof had failed due to poor ventilation in the soffits and inadequate insulation in the attic. This would now be the 3rd roof that I had installed in 33 years. The two previous roofers had not alerted me to the problem with the insulation and the last roofer also did not properly install flashing along the deck roof so water slowly leaked into the house causing internal damage. Smart Site went above and beyond to do an excellent job on the interior of the house. Andrew also coordinated well with the other trades that were required to complete the job. I strongly recommend Smart Site Construction. This was a small job. They do the big ones as well. You can't go wrong with Smart Site!
